a wonderful two-way traffic for us to enjoy the Father through the Son in the Spirit

This is so wonderful! These verses in Eph 2:16-18 show us that we have access unto the Father through the Son and in the Spirit! When the Lord Jesus came to us as God embodied, He came with the Father (John 8:29; 16:32) and in the name of the Father (John 5:43).

The Father planned all things – He is the source – and the Son is the means, the course, the One who accomplished the Father’s purpose. Christ became the channel in which and by which God enlivened us, raised us up, and seated us in the heavenlies.

This is what we see in Eph. 2: God loved us (v. 4), God enlivened us (v. 5), God raised us up (v. 6), and God seated us in the heavenlies (v. 6) to make us His poem, His masterpiece (v. 10) – He did all these through the Son!

After His death and resurrection, Christ came to us as the Spirit to preach the gospel (Eph. 2:17). When the Spirit came, He came with the Father (John 15:26) and in the Son’s name (John 14:26) – meaning that when the Spirit comes to us, the Son and the Father also come to us!

When we hear the gospel (preached to us by the Son as the Spirit) we receive the Spirit. The Spirit then brings us back to God the Father through Christ the Son( Eph. 2:16-18). The result of all this and the conclusion of this is that,

The Father came to us through the Son in the Spirit, and now the Spirit brings us back to the Father through the Son. Through this wonderful two-way traffic we enjoy the dispensing of the Triune God (The Conclusion of the New Testament, msg. 94).

Praise the Lord! God the Father came to us through the Son and in the Spirit – He reached us through the preaching of the gospel, and He continually reaches us through the hearing of faith when we spend time with the Lord, in the meetings, and even in our daily life.

Then, as we enjoy the Lord and contact Him in our spirit, the Spirit brings us back to the Father through the Son – we are brought back to the Father to enjoy Him! God wants us to enjoy Him, so in His Divine Trinity He works, operates, and moves to reach us and bring us back to Himself!

The Bible is full of verses showing us this wonderful two-way traffic between us and God – with the result that we, the believers in Christ, enjoy the divine dispensing of the Triune God!

Here are some verses that show the Triune God working in His Divine Trinity to reach man and bring man into Himself that man may enjoy Him:

  • 2 Cor. 13:14, The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way and the reality[the Spirit of reality] and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.
  • Eph. 3:14-17, I bow my knees unto the Father… that He would strengthen you with power through His Spirit into the inner man, that Christ may make His home in your heart through faith.
  • 1 Peter 1:2, Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
  • Eph. 5:19-20, Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs [God the Spirit], singing and psalming with your heart to the Lord, Giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father.

How Wonderful! Praise You, Lord! What a plan and what an economy – You came to man in Your Divine Trinity and reach man! Now You’re bringing man back to God through the Son and in the Spirit that we may enjoy the Father! Lord, we love Your dispensing! We pray for more such traffic today! Strengthen us through Your Spirit that Christ may make His home in our heart through faith!

I have never seen this as clear as presented here – there's a two way traffic between us and God! God comes to us in the Son and as the Spirit, and then in one Spirit we come to God the Father through Christ! And the truth is – because of the "traditional teachings in Christianity" we have missed all these wonderful verses that show us the dispensing of the Divine Trinity! May we be recovered to this traffic – to more dispensing of God into man and more bringing of man into God!
