Coming to the Word of God, Finding God’s Words, and Feeding on them in the Morning

Jer. 15:16 Your words were found and I ate them, and Your word became to me the gladness and joy of my heart.Jeremiah 15:16 says, Your words were found and I ate them, and Your word became to me the gladness and joy of my heart.

Apparently, the words of God are right in front of us every morning, but in experience the words need to be found. We need the Lord to shine on us as we read His word.

We need to come before the Lord in our spirit to receive the light in order to find the words. We touch our spirit simply by calling on the Lord, singing and praying to the Lord with our spirit.

How we come to the word is very important. We should not read the words merely with our mind to gain knowledge or as a religious duty. We want to read the word to gain life, which is very different.

In John 5:39 and 40 the Lord Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that testify concerning Me. Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”

Merely reading the word is not sufficient to gain eternal life. We need to come to the Lord.

Our morning time with the Lord isn’t too enjoyable if we are rushed or occupied with other things. I find that, the earlier I wake up after a good night’s rest – at least a couple of hours before I need to head out to work, the more I am able to enjoy the Lord. The length of the time is not specific or limited.

Whenever the words of God are found, we need to properly absorb them so that we may be fully fed by them. When we receive the life in the word, then surely the Lord will gain our living.
