The Divine Sonship is Accomplished by our being Mingled with God unto Sanctification

In eternity past God the Father chose us in Christ to be holy unto sonship (see Eph. 1:4-5). All of God’s people have been chosen by God to be holy for the purpose of being made sons of God and participate in the divine sonship.

Throughout history until today this word “holy” has been misused and has even lost its original meaning; to be holy is to be separated, sanctified to God, to be different, distinct from anything else, and be saturated with God – who is holy.

Only God is holy and everything else is common. We have been chosen by God to be holy, that is, to be separated from anything else unto God and to be saturated with God to be one with Him.

God chose us by predestinating us, marking us out, even from eternity past, that we would be holy for the sonship. God chose us to make us His sons who participate in the divine sonship.

Now as we partake of God’s holy nature, we are being saturated and permeated with God to be as holy as He is; our heavenly Father is holy, and as we partake of Him, we become holy sons of the holy Father.

Today God is working Himself into us and mingling Himself with us so that we may be absolutely sanctified in Him, by Him, and with Him, and so that every bit of our human nature will be eventually absolutely permeated, saturated, and mingled with God to be as holy as God is holy.

All this is so that we may be sons of God mature in the divine life for God’s corporate expression, those who are absolutely holy and divine to express God in full in a corporate way.

We need to open to the Lord and be renewed in our mind concerning what it means to be holy, to be sanctified, and to be made as holy as God is holy.

God wants us to have the full birthright so that we may enjoy Him in a full way, and for this we need to partake of God’s holy nature and be sanctified by God to be saturated and permeated with His holy nature and thus become the sonship, the corporate expression of God.

What it Means to be Holy and How we are Being Made Holy by God

What does it mean to be holy? These words, “holy”, “holiness”, and “sanctification” have been spoiled by today’s Christian teachings, and many unbelievers and believers alike have a wrong understanding what it means to be holy.

Being holy is NOT being sinless or perfect. Being holy means to be separated unto God, sanctified unto Him for His purpose. Also, being holy means being different, distinct, from anything that is common.

Only God is the One who is different and distinct from all things; God is holy, and holiness is His nature (see Lev. 2:4-5). Holiness is not merely being removed or separated from something but to become as different and distinct from anything like God Himself.

We as believers in Christ are in the process of being deified: we are becoming the same as God in life and nature, and we are being made as holy as God is holy. The only way this can happen is by being saturated with God.

We have been begotten of God to be children of God (John 1:12-13) and we have God’s life and nature; now we are partakers of God with His holy nature (2 Pet. 1:4). As we partake of God, we are not just separated unto God but we also become the same as He is, acquiring His different and distinct nature.

God is working His holy nature, essence, and character into us. He makes us holy by imparting Himself, the Holy One, into our being, so that our whole being may be permeated and saturated with God’s holy nature.

We were not saved so that “we may go to heaven”; we were saved by God to be holy, and He will not stop until every molecule and fiber of our being is saturated with God. Day by day, hour by hour, and even moment by moment, we need to seek to be saturated and permeated with God.

We may pray for our needs and for others’ needs, but our constant prayer should be,

Lord, saturate us more with Yourself! Permeate us with Your holy nature, essence, and character. Make us as holy as You are. We open to Your saturation, permeation, and mingling. Lord, mingle Yourself more with us today. We want to partake of the divine nature so that we may be distinct and separated unto You! We want to be saturated with Your holy nature until we become holy like You!

The Divine Sonship is Accomplished by our being Mingled with God unto Full Sanctification

How can we become the sons of God in full? How can we, sinners by nature, can be as holy as God is holy? God is holy: He is distinct, separated, and not common, and He is nothing like anything or anyone else in the universe.

By regeneration we have received God’s holy life and nature in us, and now God is working Himself into us and He is mingling Himself with us so that we may be holy, absolutely sanctified by Him, in Him, and with Him.

God wants to mingle Himself with every part of our human being so that we may be made as holy as He is and become the sonship, His corporate expression in humanity.

God’s work is to mingle Himself with us, working Himself into us so that we would be absolutely permeated, saturated, and mingled with God in our human nature.

We see this in type in the Old Testament with the boards of the tabernacle: they were of acacia wood overlaid with gold. God (the gold) mingles Himself with us (the acacia wood) to produce us as materials for His building (the tabernacle) (see Exo. 26:28-30).

God mingles Himself with the church so that we may be brought into full sonship. We are not only separated and sanctified unto God, but we are in the process of being mingled with God and saturated with God to be as holy as God is and become the sonship for His expression.

What the Divine Sonship Means According to the New Testament

1. Sonship means that we are born of God to have God as our life and nature (see John 1:12-13; 3:6; 1 John 5:11-12; 2 Pet. 1:4). When a sinner is born again of God, he is begotten by God to have His life and nature, and this is the beginning of the sonship. Through regeneration we are initiated into the sonship, and the process of being mingled with God begins.

2. Sonship means that we grow with God and are in God, growing up into Christ in all things (Eph. 1:6, 10; 4:15-16; Col. 2:19). Most Christians stop at being born again; then, they just “wait to go to heaven”. But we need to grow up into Christ, the Head, in all things, and we need to grow with the growth of God.

Sonship includes the birth, the growth in life, and the birthright. In order for us to enjoy the birthright and partake of God in full, we need to grow in life and become mature heirs of God. The shortage of the full sonship is the shortage of the enjoyment of the full birthright. We need to grow in life daily!

3. Sonship means that we are absolutely mingled with God (see Lev. 2:4-5; 1 Thes. 5:23). God is slowly but surely sanctifying our whole being until our spirit, soul, and body are full saturated and mingled with God. We need to grow in life with the growth of God until every part of our being is permeated, saturated, and overlaid with God.

We are in this process of mingling today, and this will happen one day in full: we will be absolutely and thoroughly be mingled with God in every part of our being!

4. Sonship means that we are qualified to inherit all that God is, has, and has purposed (Eph. 1:14; Rom. 8:17). Only mature heirs can inherit all that the father has done and purposed; we need to grow in life unto maturity until we are fully qualified to inherit all that God is, all that God has, and all that God has purposed. If we are not grown up we cannot inherit God in a full way, and we can’t be God’s full inheritance in a full way.

5. Sonship means that we eventually are absolutely holy and divine (see Eph. 1:4; Rev. 21:2, 10). Eventually, all the mature sons of God will be absolutely holy and divine, fully saturated and permeated with God in all their being, and they will become the New Jerusalem, the holy city of God. This is what God wants, for us to be absolutely holy and divine.

It is good to tell the Lord,

Lord Jesus, mingle Yourself more with us today. Saturate us with Yourself. May we grow in the divine life with the growth of God today so that we may be matured sons of God to inherit God in full. Lord, we want to enter into the full enjoyment of the birthright. Grow in us. Saturate us. Mingle Yourself with us. Overlay us with God. Bring us on to maturity that we may be qualified to inherit all that God is, has, and has purposed.
