experiencing the indwelling Christ – our Christ today is the Spirit in our spirit indwelling us!

He was very thoughtful of them – He cared for them, spoke to them the words of life, ministered to them, and perfected them. Because He was both God and man, the Lord Jesus even “knew their thoughts” and cared for them in a tender way.

The disciples loved the Lord and followed Him everywhere He went, since God was with Him and with Him are the words of life (John 6:68). But one day the Lord Jesus told them that He needs to go to the Father – and He will ask the Father to send them another Comforter.

This made the disciples sorrowful (John 16:6) – but the Lord did His best to explain to them, as seen in John 14:1-20, that His going to the Father was actually His coming to them as the Spirit of Reality to guide them inwardly in all the reality.

By being with the disciples in a bodily form, in the flesh, the Lord Jesus was limited in what He could do for them and in them. But when the Lord went to the Father through His death and resurrection, He returned to the disciples – and to us, all the believers in Christ – as the Spirit of reality to guide us into all the reality of what God is to us.

Now Christ is not in the flesh with us anymore, He is as the Spirit indwelling us! This is what Romans 8:10 tells us,

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is life because of righteousness.

Hallelujah, today Christ is in us as the Spirit to dwell in us, care for us, comfort us, shepherd us, intercede for us, perfect us, and transform us more into His image. Now Christ is no longer limited by time and space – as the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45) Christ is omnipresent (can be anywhere on the earth at the same time)!

Some believers would love to have the Lord Jesus “walking on the earth” with them, and they would accompany the Lord and follow Him wherever He goes… But today it is much better than this: the Lord Jesus is with us as the Another Comforter to comfort us and teach us, guide us, into all the reality of what Christ is.

All that Christ as God is, has gone through, has accomplished, has obtained – everything is in this indwelling Christ as the Spirit who is mingled with our spirit! Christ now lives in us as the Spirit – He is now so much more to us than He would be as a man in the flesh!

In 1 John 2:1 we see that we have an advocate with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ. In Romans 8:26 we see that the Spirit intercedes for us before God with groanings which cannot be uttered. In Hebrews 8:1 we see that Christ is the High Priest ministering to us before God.

In Phil. 1:19 we see that even in the prison Paul experienced Christ as the Spirit to be his bountiful supply. Everywhere in the Epistles we see that this wonderful indwelling Christ is so much to us. Christ is our life, and He is our very person.

This is very mysterious, but at the same time very real! The reality about us, the believers in Christ, is that we have another Person – the indwelling Christ – living in us! Christ dwells in us as the Spirit and He lives in us today – we are one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17).

We can experience and enjoy the indwelling Christ today as the Spirit with our spirit! [sharing inspired from the Morning Revival on The Crucial Elements of the Bible]

Thank You Lord for coming into us as the life-giving Spirit! Now we have Christ indwelling us and being our life, our person, and our everything! Keep us enjoying You today, Lord, as the indwelling Christ. We want to know You more – guide us into all the reality of what You are. We need Your comforting, Your guiding, and Your care. We praise You for Your all-inclusive tender care, interceding, and comforting. We just love You, oh, indwelling Christ! You are so enjoyable and so experiential!
