Man is Becoming God through Transformation by Participating in God’s Divinity

God becoming man that man might become God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead is the essence of the entire Bible, the “diamond” in the “box” of the Bible, the eternal economy of God. Witness Lee

The Bible as the complete and only divine revelation given by God to man is a wonderful book revealing us mainly one thing: the economy of God.

If we human beings have our own “economy” (both personally and as families, households, cities, countries, etc), how much more does God have an economy! In His economy God is dispensing all that He is into man so that man may enjoy God, experience God, be filled with God, and become God’s corporate expression to represent God in the universe.

The truth concerning the ultimate goal of God’s eternal economy as revealed in the Bible is that in Christ God became a man so that man may be made God in life, nature, expression, and function, but not in the Godhead.

The “diamond” in the “box” of the Bible is that God became a man that man might become God in life and nature but not in the Godhead; this is the essence of the entire Bible and the eternal economy of God (see Gen. 1:26; John 12:24; Rom. 8:29).

The Old Testament gives us the background and the setting for the Lord Jesus to come, and the Lord’s incarnation was not merely to redeem us back to God or save us from hell but so that, just as He was God becoming man so we might become the same as God in life and nature (but not in the Godhead). This is the highest peak of the divine revelation and the diamond in the box of the Bible.

Just as dogs beget dogs, lions beget lions, cats beget cats, and men beget men, so we as believers in Christ have been begotten of God to be children of God, sons of God, God-men.

Only God Himself has the Godhead, just as none of the children in the family can have the father’s “fatherhood”; only God is almighty, omnipotent, omniscient, and only He can be worshipped, but according to the entire revelation of the Bible we are God-men, men born of God having God in them and becoming the same as Christ, the Firstborn Son of God. It is good to open to the Lord and ask Him,

Lord, unveil us to see the “diamond” in the “box” of the Bible. Enlighten the eyes of our heart and give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation that we may clearly see God’s eternal economy to make man the same as God in life and nature but not in the Godhead. Oh Lord, just as You were God becoming man, we are now in the process of transformation and conformation to be made the same as You are in life, nature, expression, and function, so that we may become Your corporate expression on earth!

Seeing how Man is Becoming God through Transformation by Participating in God’s Divinity

God became man through incarnation by participating in man’s humanity; man becomes God (in life and nature but not in the Godhead) through transformation by participating in God’s divinity (John 1:14; 2 Cor. 3:18). Witness LeeFirst of all, God became a man through incarnation by participating in man’s humanity; in the person of the Lord Jesus, God was brought into man to be mingled with man as one (John 1:14).

Furthermore, the highest peak of the divine revelation in the Bible concerning man is that man is in the process of becoming God in life and nature but not in the Godhead through transformation by participating in God’s divinity (2 Cor. 3:18).

We as men are being regenerated and participate in God’s divinity so that we may partake of God’s divinity for our enjoyment.

It is our right as children of God to partake in God’s divinity, just as all the human beings partake of all that the human nature has and is.

Through regeneration we have received the divine life and nature, and now as God-men we have the right to participate in God’s divinity. Let us see where in the Bible it says that we can participate in God’s divinity in more detail.

We have the Right to Participate in God’s life

To all those who believe into Christ God has given the right that they would participate in God’s life; Christ came not only to redeem us but to give us life, and He desires that we would have this divine life abundantly (John 3:15; 10:10).

Through regeneration, we received God’s life, and now Christ is our life inwardly and subjectively (Col. 3:4). Our spirit is life because of righteousness (Rom. 8:10), our mind is becoming life and peace as we set our mind on the mingled spirit (Rom. 8:6), and even our body will be swallowed up by life to be transfigured into the same image as Christ (Rom. 8:11).

Hallelujah, Christ in us is the life-giving Spirit constantly imparting the divine life to us, and it is our right to participate in God’s life by enjoying and receiving God’s life constantly!

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Nature

2 Pet. 1:4 Through which He has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption which is in the world by lust.Through regeneration we have received the divine life and nature, and now it is our right to partake of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4). God chose us before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish before Him in love (Eph. 1:4); God chose us to be the same as He is in His nature: HOLY.

God is holy, we are the holy children of a holy Father, and we are daily being sanctified to be made holy as He is holy (1 Pet. 1:15-16). All believers in Christ have the right to participate in God’s nature to be sanctified, and our destiny is that we will become the holy city, New Jerusalem!

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Mind

Because we have become God-men through regeneration, we have the right to participate in God’s mind. Paul encourages us in Phil. 2:5, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. The mind which is in Christ Jesus needs to become our mind, and it is our right to partake of God’s mind.

We need to be renewed in the spirit of our mind, that is, we need to exercise our spirit until the mingled spirit spreads into our mind and causes our mind to be renewed (Eph. 4:23). When we exercise our spirit over the word of God and allow the Lord to spread into our mind, the mind of Christ becomes our mind and we partake of God’s mind.

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Being

As God-men, we can behold the Lord to reflect Him, and we are being transformed into the same image even as from the Lord Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18). “Even as from the Lord Spirit” means that the One who transforms us and even the element of our transformation is the Lord Spirit. Hallelujah, it is our right to participate in God’s being by beholding Him with an unveiled face!

As the Lord Spirit is increasing in us, we participate in God’s being, and His glory increases in us. And when we announce the gospel, what we announce is the unsearchable riches of Christ (the contents of His being) as the gospel (Eph. 3:8) so that others may also partake of God’s being.

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Image

Rom. 8:29 Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers. We have been created in God’s image, but we have lost His expression through the fall of man; through regeneration we are brought back to God to behold Him and reflect Him, and we are being transformed into the same image (2 Cor. 3:18).

It is our right as believers in Christ, as God-men, to partake of God’s image.

Christ as the Firstborn Son of God is conforming us to His image through arranging all the things and situations in our environment to work together for this.

Hallelujah, all things work together for good, that is, work together for us to be conformed to Christ’s image so that we may partake of the image of God and bear His image (Rom. 8:29).

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Glory

Christ as the Firstborn Son of God, the Author and Captain of our salvation, is leading many sons into glory (Heb. 2:10), that is, into the corporate expression of God. Our destiny as believers in Christ is to be brought into glory as the many sons of God; glorification is the step in God’s complete salvation in which God will completely saturate our body with the glory of His life and nature, transfiguring our body and conforming it to the glorious body of His Son (Phil. 3:21).

We are not destined to “go to heaven” but to be brought into the corporate expression of God, that is, to be brought into glory to express God in a corporate way as the New Jerusalem, the glorious city!

We have the Right to Participate in God’s Sonship

We were predestinated by God the Father unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will (Eph. 1:5). God’s desire is to have many sons who would express Him corporately. We are not only children of God but sons of God, and we who have the firstfruits of the Spirit groan in ourselves and are eagerly awaiting sonship, the redemption of our body (Rom. 8:23).

As the many sons of God we are being led by Christ, the One who is the perfected Author of our salvation, into glory; we are the many sons of God and the many brothers of Christ being led into glory, the full sonship – the redemption of our body (Heb. 2:10-11).

We will Participate in God’s Manifestation

We have the right to participate in God’s manifestation, which will happen at the time of the revelation of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19). Right now we look like a normal man, live a normal human life, and there’s nothing outwardly that “jumps out” as being glorious, but inwardly there’s a process of transformation going on, and at the Lord’s second coming we will all be glorified and our bodies will be fully redeemed.

Right now there’s a veil on what’s going on inside us, but when the Lord returns and we will be revealed as sons of God, we will participate in God’s manifestation and everyone will see that we are God-men, the same as Christ in life and nature!

We will Participate in God’s Likeness

Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, now we are children of God, and it has not been yet manifested what we will be; but we know that, if He is manifested, we will be LIKE HIM because we will see Him even as He is (1 John 3:2). The consummation of the process of our daily beholding the Lord to be transformed into His image is that we will partake of His likeness – we will become the same as He is.

Right now we don’t know what we will be, but we know that, when we see the Lord returning, we will be just like Him because we will reflect His likeness. Hallelujah!

We are God-man Kind, God’s Species

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been manifested what we will be. We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is.All believers in Christ, those who have been regenerated by God with His divine life and nature, are God-man kind, God’s species. Through believing into the Lord, we receive the divine life, and God gives us the authority and the right to be called children of God, those who are born not of the will of man or of the flesh but of God (John 1:12).

All other animals and birds and fish were created “according to their kind”, but we were created according to God’s kind – we were created in God’s image (Gen. 1:26). Because of the fall of man, man became mankind – no longer God’s kind but mankind, the fallen man. But through the Lord’s incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection, He produced the God-man kind, a man who is God yet man, man yet God.

Now all the believers in Christ are God-men, the species of God, and the Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God (Rom. 8:16). Wherever we are and whatever we do we need to remember that we are God-men with the divine right to participate in God’s divinity.

Lord, we praise You for giving us the right to participate in God’s life, God’s nature, God’s mind, God’s being, God’s image, God’s glory, and God’s sonship. Hallelujah, we will participate in God’s manifestation to bear God’s likeness and fully become the God-man kind, the species of God. Lord, cause us to realize that we are God-men with the divine right to participate in God’s divinity. Keep us partaking of Your life, Your nature, Your glory, Your being, Your mind, and Your sonship. Praise the Lord, we are partakers of God’s divinity!

[According to John 1:12] we have received the Lord Jesus by believing into Him, and God has given us the authority, the right, to be God’s children. “The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God” (Rom. 8:16). Such a witnessing testifies to us and assures us that we are children of God, who possess His life….Wherever we may be we need to remember that we are God-men with the divine right to participate in God’s divinity.
