Some enjoyment from the “Do the Work of an Evangelist”, Flee and Pursue

On the AgeTurners.com website there are periodical podcasts being posted, very good small exhortations from some more mature brothers to help us all pursue the Lord in this age. Even more – the purpose of this website is to help produce “age turners” – young people who will turn this age! For this, we need to Flee and Pursue – flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace – with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart(2 Tim. 2:22)! The following is some enjoyment from Podcast #17 – “Do the Work of an Evangelist.

2 Timothy 4:5 says

But you, be sober in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelist, fully accomplish your ministry.

This was the commission Paul gave to Timothy and it is also the Lord’s commission to us, the young people. The way to do business for the Lord is to do the work of an evangelist. We must bring others to the Lord so as not to appear empty handed before Him. How do we do this? To do business for the Lord as young people means that we must enter into the work of evangelism. This is to minister Christ in all His riches to both sinners and believers for the building up of the Body of Christ. The corruption of this age requires the young people to rise up and be evangelists. Like Timothy, we may not be gifted with the gift of an evangelist, but in this age of degradation, we all have a talent from the Lord that we can do business to gain fruits for Him.

We must bear fruit, and we must be normal fruit bearing branches in the vine. This is what is required of us as gospel seeds. We must multiply. Bearing fruit is for the Lord’s interest. The young people must preserve themselves from this evil age. There will be millions of young people who will die without Christ, not having the gospel presented to them by a gospel seed. They will perish in emptiness and loneliness and utter despair. Our hearts need to burn, the burden must increase. We must keep praying that the Lord will cause us to do the work of an evangelist. We are the generation that will end this age, and we will see the Lord.

I also enjoyed that it is important for us as young people to have personal fellowship and time with the Lord every day, to enter into a sweet and intimate fellowship with Him for our daily living, just loving Him and being with Him. Through this, we can grow in life and learn to minister the riches of Christ to others around us. [guest post: sister Grace]
