we need to receive God’s call, come together, seek Him, and be Gideon’s army (WST 2011)

we need to receive God's call, come together, seek Him, and be Gideon's army (WST 2011)During the recent Winter School of Truth in London, we were all blessed with the fresh speaking of the Lord from the story of Gideon in Judges chapters 6 and 7. When the children of Israel were in a state of utter degradation and the land was filled with idolatry, the Lord did not give up on His people. The surrounding nations of Midian and Amalek rose up against Israel and destroyed the produce of the land leaving no sustenance for the people. But when the people cried out to the Lord, He responded by calling Gideon, a valiant young warrior to deliver the people.

Gideon responded by taking ten men and destroying the idol that belonged to his father, and building an altar to sacrifice to God. Gideon needed companions – not a large army – to defeat Midian and rescue Israel. At first, there were thousands of men of Israel who responded to the call, but since God was the One who was delivering Israel, the ones who were afraid and those who took care of their own needs first were sent away. That left Gideon and 300 valiant men who banded together and sought the Lord and His leading to defeat the Midianites and Amalekites. Gideon led them to divide into three companies and they all received a trumpet, an empty pitcher and a torch. When the time was right, the men blew their trumpets, broke their pitchers and held up their torches. They cried out “A sword for Jehovah and for Gideon!” The entire camp of the Midianites and Amalekites was thrown into confusion and the Israelites won a great victory that day.

What does this mean to us today? How can we apply this story to our experience? We would all agree that the testimony among the church of God, including all of the genuine believers in Christ, is degraded due to division and seeking after other things. There is the need of some young ones to receive the Lord’s call and come together to seek Him. Idols need to be destroyed and a fresh consecration needs to arise within our hearts to give ourselves to the Lord. And we need to be banded together, not a big “army” but a small group of believers who love one another and care for the Lord’s interests.

Midian and Amalek represents our flesh and natural strength which destroy our growth in Christ and render us useless to the Lord for His move to end the age. As believers, the Lord instructed us to deny the self and lose the soul life (Matt. 16:24-26). We, the ones who are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and its lusts (Gal. 5:25). The Lord is the real Gideon in our spirit who can defeat these enemies within us!

We today need to blow the trumpet of the gospel to the other young people around us! Our pitchers (our love of ourselves, our “face”) need to be shattered so that we are no longer bound by worrying about what others think about us, but bold to speak in the name of the Lord. Finally, we need to hold up our “torches” which represent our testimony before the ones we speak to. We are luminaries in the world shining out as children of God (Phil. 2:15).

May the Lord raise us up today to be Gideon’s army to defeat the enemies and bring in the kingdom of God! May we be His way to bring the high gospel to all the cities of Europe and throughout the earth, and especially to all of the young people who have never heard these high truths!

we are the generation the Lord wants to use to bring Him back! (2011 winter school)

During this Winter School of Truth I really enjoyed touching the matter of the Spirit and the preaching of the gospel. This generation – our generation – is the generation the Lord wants to use to bring Him back. We have to say, “Lord, use me!” What’s holding me back? It’s NOW and it’s US! We must be willing to be used by God and we NEED to be stepping stones for His move. We have to allow Him to use us as His dispensational instrument that He may speak through us… Young people, do you know why you’re placed in your schools? Well, we are placed at different schools by the Lord so that we could be shining luminaries, shining forth the gospel to our friends! We are the ones who are able to speak to our friends!

I also really enjoyed our time when we went out to preach the gospel. It was my third time going out and it was as refreshing as ever. Basically, we set up a table in the middle of a shopping area with many people passing by and we sang hymns and gave out gospel tracts. The reactions to some of the pedestrians passing by was interesting. Some of them looked like they wanted to know more and this was when we went up to them and asked them a some gospel questions and then explained the “wiring diagram” to them!

gospel tract - the mystery of the human life, the process God went through to become the life-giving Spirit!

This “wiring diagram” showed the process our God went through to be able to enter into our spirit.

  • First, God was incarnated and became a man – God became flesh. He lived the human life for 33 and a half years.
  • Then, He passed through crucifixion and died on the cross, dying for our sins. How amazing!
  • After He died, Christ went to Hades and after three days He resurrected, becoming the life-giving Spirit! Hallelujah!!
  • He then ascended, becoming the Head and the Lord of all.
  • After that, He descended, coming as the life-giving spirit to enter into our human spirit… wonderful.

We even got 3 people saved by just simply calling on the name of the Lord that day! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! The Lord’s name is just so sweet. His name is wonderful!

It is time to rise up and say, Lord Jesus, Step On Me! Use me! (2011 winter school of truth)

It is time to rise up and say, Lord Jesus, Step On Me! Use me! (2011 winter school of truth)I’m so happy that I could attend the Winter School of Truth again! What really touched me is that Jesus wasn’t only “crucified and then buried” because if that would be the end of the process, and He would never enter into His people today! But praise the Lord that three days after His crucifixion He was raised from the dead and became a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45) who can live deep within our spirit and can be our bountiful supply and all that we need! All we have to do is to call upon His name (Acts 2:21) – what a simple way to touch Christ! We shouldn’t be calling upon the Lord in an objective way, like calling on the Lord who dwells in heavens, but we need to be those calling on the Christ who is the Spirit and dwells within our spirit. The spirit is our big treasure and He makes us the richest people in the whole world.

being stepping stones for the Lord

What touched me as well is that Lord really wants to come back but He needs us as ‘stepping stones’. We have to realize who we are, where we are, what time is it, what do we need to do, and what is the goal. We have to take this responsibility! It may seems “a little bit scary” that we are at the end of this age, but we’re in the church life – in a big family – and we have each other. It’s up to us to take this responsibility or not. Jesus will not come and walk on the earth as He did two thousand years ago because now He has us, the young people in His recovery! We just need to be willing to be useful.

Lord, Step on Me! Use Me!

We need to rise up and say: “Lord, step on me!” This is our opportunity! We should go, bear fruit and speak about the Lord. What are we waiting for? We’re here to express God! The Lord Jesus wants our consecration so we have to be determined and exercise our spirit. The church needs our function. Every day we have a new beginning, and each sunrise brings us new opportunities and new possibilities. Sometimes we just need a little turn to our spirit. We are different than the people in the world – we have a better life because Christ is our life! We have to trust God because at every step the Midianites want to attack us – they’re waiting all the time and everywhere to destroy what God made in us, and to destroy the place which Lord gained in us.

Dear young people, we can rise up, take the whole Europe, and no one will be able to stop us! Let’s do it for Him. We believe in God but God also believes in us as well.

[sharing by sister N.S (PL) from her enjoyment and impression in the 2011 winter school of truth in London, UK. Amen, it is time to rise up as young ones and take action! It is time to be serious with the Lord, exercise our spirit, and take this land! O, Lord, gain such young ones all throughout Europe! I want to live according to the spirit! The Son of God is in my spirit! (2011 winter school)

I want to live according to the spirit! The Son of God is in my spirit! (2011 winter school)That was my first Winter school of Truth. Before I arrived there I didn’t really wanted to go… I can even say that I was “pushed a little bit” by my mum. But after arriving there at Bower House, all my doubts disappeared, because I really enjoyed the Lord and I had a great time! I met lots of people, I met my old friends, but the most important was that I heard so much about the Lord Jesus and the two spirits!

I really enjoyed lesson eight. It was about denying the soul and turning to the spirit. In Rom 8:6 it says, For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace.

We Christians, must reject our mind, emotions, and will, and take the Lord Jesus as our life! Amen! This doesn’t mean that we don’t need our emotions and will but that we need to put them under the control of the spirit! We need to turn to the Lord in every situation and He will show us the way – we will have a feeling. I’m so vulnerable if I don’t turn to the Lord… but I want to live according to the spirit!

I also really enjoyed this wonderful song,

The Son of God is in my spirit!
But my mind, emotion, will have not been conformed yet
So I thank God I’m under the process
Of conformation
To the image
Of Son of God!!!

The law of life in me is spreading
Thus my mind, emotion, will
He’s now conforming
So, I open to His working within me
Till my whole being
Bears the image
Of the Son of God!

our flesh profits nothing: let us turn to our mingled spirit! (2011 winter school of truth)

our flesh profits nothing: let us turn to our mingled spirit! (2011 winter school of truth)Praise the Lord for the Winter School of Truth 2011! The main topic was, The Two Spirits. We all should be happy that we have these two spirits – our human spirit and God’s divine Spirit(John 3:6; Romans 8:16). The divine Spirit is none other than the Lord Jesus. God with all His divinity was not able to mingle with man because God did not have element of humanity in Himself. So He had to take the form of a man and come to this world so that He could be “processed” in order to get into man. He had to pass through incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and descension so that He could come into man.

Did you know that it was not only Jesus as the Second of the Divine Trinity who came to this earth? The complete Triune God came to this earth by taking a form of a man. The Triune God had to be “processed and consummated” and now we have the Triune God in us as the divine Spirit. This is a marvelous Spirit! It is not just “a Spirit”, but it is “a life-giving Spirit” (1 Cor 15:45). Hallelujah for this Spirit who gives us life (Romans 8:11)!

How do we receive this Spirit? All we need to do is to believe into Christ. The moment we believe into Him, we will receive this life-giving Spirit (John 7:38-39). What is this divine Spirit doing in us? This Spirit carries out the process of transformation in the believers. It renews our whole being and transforms us into a figure that God wants us to be, so that we can express Him fully. Isn’t it wonderful that our inner man is transformed and renewed day by day? “But though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day” (2 Cor 4:16). All we need to do is just turn to our spirit!

Is there anybody who prevents us from turning to the spirit? Yes, Satan interrupts and wants to destroy man’s fellowship with God. Satan never allows a man to carry out a sweet communication with God and one way he does this is by reminding us our sins. We all need to have a clear conscience before we try to contact the Lord. A clear conscience is the most important thing when we want to fellowship with God. If our conscience is not clear, Satan keeps reminding us of our sins and makes us guilty to contact God. In order to have a clear conscience, we need to ask God to forgive our sins AND to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. Both sins and unrighteousness refer to our wrongdoings. Sins indicate the offence of our wrongdoings against God and men; unrighteousness indicates the stain of our wrongdoings, which causes us not be right with either God or men. The offense needs God’s forgiveness and the stain requires His cleansing. Both God’s forgiveness and God’s cleansing are needed for the restoration of our broken fellowship with God, that we may enjoy Him in uninterrupted fellowship with a good conscience, a conscience void of offense (taken from the footnotes in 1 John 1:9).

I really enjoyed the fact that we have the key to both “death” and “life and peace”. This key is non other than our mind. “For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6). The moment I got to know this, I found the answer to lot of problems in my life. Can the flesh do any good to you? No, the flesh cannot do any good for you. The Lord Jesus said “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing” (John 6:63). Hallelujah – our flesh profits NOTHING! So if the flesh profits nothing, let us set our mind on the spirit because He gives us life!

Hallelujah saints, we need this life! We need the life of Christ in us. We need to turn to our spirit with a clear conscience, and we need to fellowship with God. We need to allow Him to carry out His process of transformation in us so that one day we could say with a true heart that “I am crucified with Christ; and is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Gal 2:20).

God’s economical Spirit of power is for us to receive to preach the gospel (2011 WST)

God's economical Spirit of power is for us to receive to preach the gospel (2011 WST)At the 2011 Winter School of Truth I enjoyed the point about the economical aspect of the Spirit. This aspect is God’s economical Spirit of Power! Since we are a speaking people, God gave us such a Spirit for us to have the power in order to be able to speak God, speak forth Christ, and to speak for Christ. This is “the wind” of power in Acts 2. We have this Spirit to speak on every occasion. Acts 1:8 says,

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Praise the Lord that when we feel weak or powerless, we can call on the Lord’s name and have this Spirit to strengthen our inner man so that we can preach the gospel! Without being in spirit, we cannot preach the gospel because we would be doing this in our self, not in the spirit. Thus, we need to call upon His name and have Him flow into us whenever we want to prophesy, preach the gospel, or to even talk!

I also enjoyed the part about denying our soul life. We must turn to our spirit every moment of our lives, because the mind set on the spirit is life and peace (Rom. 8:6)! We need our spirit to be in the lead and our soul and body to be the organs. We should not invest in the world at all. Whenever we invest in a company, we invest in a company that we think is going to do very well. In our situation, we KNOW that God will win, and that Satan will lose – the Bible tells us so! We need to “invest in God” by turning to our spirit all the time, because investing in the world will have no profit, no gain.

We need to be the corporate Gideon, who blew the trumpet, shattered the pitcher, and held up the torch. Shattering our face is so important, because our “reputation” and our “face” is what is holding us back from preaching the gospel. Who cares if you lose face? This is nothing compared to the reward we will receive during the wedding feast!

Oh Lord Jesus, save me from this world, save me from my situation! I want to live a life for You, to bear much fruit and express only You!

the Spirit is now the Compound Spirit, every element is significant! (2011 Winter School)

the Spirit is now the Compound Spirit, every element is significant! (2011 Winter School)This Winter School of Truth I was really impressed by the matter of the compound Spirit. Do you know that the Spirit is compound? All the aspects and matters in the Old Testament are types which find their reality in the New Testament. The ointment in Exo. 30:22-25 is a type of the Spirit. This holy anointing oil is composed of 5 ingredients: olive oil, flowing myrrh, sweet cinnamon, sweet calamus, and cassia. Every ingredient of this compound ointment shows us something very significant about the Spirit.

The olive oil: In the Bible olive oil signifies the Spirit of God (Psa. 45:7; Isa. 61:1). The olive oil is the base of the ointment; it is the basic element compounded with the spices. The four spices are compounded into the olive oil to make the ointment. This indicates that the Spirit of God, signified by the olive oil, is no longer merely oil, but now it is oil compounded with certain ingredients. Thank You Lord that You are not only the olive oil but now You are compounded! You passed through the process!

The flowing myrrh: Flowing myrrh, smelling sweet but tasting bitter, signifies the precious death of Christ. In the Bible myrrh is used mostly for burial. Hence, myrrh is related to death. How we need a precious death of Christ! By His death we are redeemed – I should have died but HE DIED in my place… What can I say, just THANK YOU LORD!

The sweet cinnamon: Fragrant cinnamon signifies the sweetness and effectiveness of Christ’s death. The effectiveness of Christ’s death is in the Spirit. This Spirit is like an all-inclusive dose of medicine. If we take this all-inclusive Spirit, it will heal us, no matter what our illness is. The killing power of the death of Christ today is in the all-inclusive Spirit. I confess that everyday I may criticize others, pity myself, complain or lose my temper… All that I need is just to say ‘Lord Jesus, O Lord Jesus’, His death kills all my complains.

The fragrant calamus: Calamus grows in a marsh or muddy place. But even though it grows in a marsh, it is able to shoot up into the air. According to the sequence of the spices, this calamus signifies the rising up of the Lord Jesus from the place of death. The Lord was put into a marsh, into a death situation, but in resurrection He rose up and stood up. Everything – my school, work, Internet, etc is like a marsh. I need the power of Christ’s resurrection so that I could STAND! We can’t be like everyone else – we are different! WE STAND but not by ourselves (by our natural power), but through the power of Lord’s resurrection!

The cassia: The fourth spice, cassia, signifies the power of Christ’s resurrection. In ancient times cassia was used as a repellent to drive away insects and snakes. Cassia thus signifies the power, the effectiveness, of Christ’s resurrection. Christ’s resurrection can withstand any kind of environment, and His resurrection certainly is a repellent. It repels all evil “insects” and especially the old serpent, the devil. Wooooooow! This Spirit “scares away” all kinds of temptations and evil things from us! ‘Lord Jesus, keep the snakes away from me all my days!’ We really need to flee to our spirit and enjoy the resurrection!

Praise the Lord that this Spirit is compound! Lord Jesus thank You that You passed through the process that now we can experience You as the all-inclusive, indwelling, and compound Spirit!

So saints let’s: let us turn to our spirit, let us spend time with the Lord, let us experience Him as the Spirit, let us LOVE HIM MORE and GIVE Him more ground in our hearts. Lord Jesus, make us Your overcomers!
