the divine life in us enables us to be functioning members of the Body of Christ, the divine organism

The Body of Christ is not an organisation but a living organism, composed with the living Triune God and His redeemed, being transformed, and being conformed to the image of Christ, people! According to Eph. 4:4-6 we see that the Triune God – the Father, the Son, and the Spirit – is mingled with the Body of Christ.

Actually, according to the revelation in the Bible, the main work the Triune God is doing today is the building up of the Body of Christ. This is God’s central work – and everything He is doing in the universe is for this (Matt. 16:18).

Everything works together and coordinates together for the Body of Christ – which is a living organism, not a dead organisation. A wooden table is perfectly shaped, formed, and built – but is dead, though it is organised. The Body of Christ is a living organism, full of life, and has nothing to do with human organisation.

Every part and every member of the Body of Christ is living and functioning – every believer has the divine life in him which enables him and gives him the capacity to function in the Body of Christ according to its measure.

We need to reject the natural inclination and the natural concept of “going to church and listening to others speaking” – we don’t want our function to be annulled; rather, we want to grow in life, be mingled with the Triune God, and function for the building up and the increase of the Body of Christ!

Our human body is a living organism – you can say that it is “organised”, but it is an organism filled with life. The more we exercise every part of our being, the more our body is growing properly and is healthy. If our body is not active but rather is “resting” all the time, our health may be damaged.

The Body of Christ is a living organism and we as members of the Body need to exercise to function, speak, and build up the Body! In us there is a capacity – the divine life with the divine nature has the capacity to serve the Lord, function in the Body, and speak for the Lord.

The divine life in us does not like it when we regularly come to the meetings and habitually do not function. What is normal in the meetings and in the Body of Christ is the mutual speaking and the mutual listening – for the building up!

This is why the God-ordained way, as a result of much study and practice, experience, and seeking of the Lord, has these four steps:

1. Preaching the gospel for the saving of sinners;
2. Nourishing the new ones in their homes;
3. Setting up group meetings for the mutual perfecting;
4. Prophesying in the Lord’s Day meeting by everyone for the release of the riches of Christ.

The Triune God as our life is not just in the heavens but also in us, flowing in us and mingling Himself with us. The more He flows in us and the more we enjoy Him, the more we have the desire, the ability, and the capacity to function as members of the Body and branches of the vine!

It is the life in us that enables us to be functioning members of the Body of Christ, and today we can choose to enjoy the Lord and allow the divine life in us to grow and function for the building up of the Body of Christ! This is what we really desire – to be one with God in His central work, the building up of the Body of Christ!

Lord, save us from remaining silent and not functioning in our measure. Thank You for Your divine life in us with the divine nature. We want to exercise our spirit to enjoy You that Your life in us may grow and may function. Lord, make us living and functioning members of the Body. We treasure the functioning in our measure. We love to enjoy You, and we want to be one with You in Your central work. Build up Your Body, Lord! Gain a built-up Body as Your corporate expression. We are here for the building up of the Body of Christ!
