The Highest Point in our Spiritual Experience is having a Clear Sky with the Throne Above it

Rev. 22:1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street.According to our experience and in light of Ezekiel chapter one, the highest point in our spiritual experience is having a clear sky with the throne above it. We need to have the spiritual experiences depicted in Ezekiel 1, from the open heavens with God’s direct speaking to having a clear and expanding sky with a throne above it.

We need to clearly see a vision of the throne of God for the divine administration throughout the universe. The way for us to see the vision of the throne of God is by being in spirit; when we are in our spirit, we realize that God is on the throne, ruling over everything and everyone in the universe for the fulfillment of God’s purpose.

When we touch the Lord in our spirit, we are dethroned, and the Lord is on the throne. We see God’s universal administration in the book of Revelation; this book reveals that the universe operates according to God’s administration.

On the one hand, God is on the throne of grace in our spirit, always ready and available for us to enjoy Him, receive mercy and find grace, and drink the water of life flowing from the throne.

On the other hand, God’s throne is related to His administration, which is a matter of His economy; in His economy God administrates the universe for the fulfillment of His purpose.

We may think that man chooses certain things, goes on his own way to build a career, or that people elect a president or a prime-minister, but God on the throne is working behind the scene, ruling over everyone and everything.

Everything that happens in the world today – whether in the government or in war zones or in our personal life – is decided on the throne; nothing can happen outside the rule of God’s throne.

We may think we are in control, and especially now with the rise of democracy we may think that we can change everything according to what we think it’s best; but God is on the throne, He decides everything, and nothing happens without Him being in control.

We need to enthrone the Lord in our being, give Him the most prominent place in our life, and have a clear sky between us and Him, so that we may have a throne above the sky and be under the rule of the heavens.

The Highest Point in our Spiritual Experience is having a Clear Sky with the Throne Above it

Ezek. 1:26 And above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, like the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was One in appearance like a man, above it.The throne of God is the center of the universe, and it is the place where God is (Rev. 4:2); God today is on the throne, and His presence always is with the throne.

When we have God’s presence, we have His throne, and when we are under the rule of God, we have God’s presence. The throne of God is His presence, and when we are under His ruling presence, we have God.

When God’s presence comes into our spirit, this is His throne, His ruling presence. The Lord’s throne is not only in the third heaven but also in our spirit; the Lord’s throne is always with us.

Our spirit is the dwelling place of God, the house of God, His habitation (see Eph. 2:22); the Lord Jesus dwells in our spirit, and He is the heavenly ladder bringing God to man and bringing man to God (see John 1:51).

When we turn to our spirit, we touch the heavens, and as we maintain a clear sky between us and the Lord, we are under the rule of God’s throne. Whenever we turn to our spirit we enter the gates of heaven and touch the throne in the heaven through Christ as the heavenly ladder.

We need to maintain a clear sky in our Christian life and church life, and we will be under the ruling of the throne of God; this is the highest point in our spiritual experience.

To reach the point of having a clear sky with the throne above it means that in everything we allow God to have the preeminence, and we are completely submissive to God’s authority and administration.

There should be no problem between us and the Lord; we always need to have a clear fellowship with Him, so that our sky may be clear, our conscience may be pure, void of offense, and there would be the throne of God in our spirit.

In our daily experience we must allow God to have the highest and most prominent position in our Christian life; this means that we need to give God the position to reign in our being.

He must be on the throne, and we need to be completely submissive to His authority and administration in everything. Then, we are no longer a person without the throne, without authority, or without God’s government.

The Lord’s presence is always with His throne. The Lord’s throne is both in the third heaven and in our spirit (Rev. 4:2-3; Heb. 4:16 and note 1; cf. 2 Tim. 4:22). The throne above the crystal clear expanse indicates that whenever we have a “clear sky” in our Christian life and in our church life, we will be under the ruling of the throne. The highest point in our spiritual experience is having a clear sky with a throne above it. To reach this point means that in everything we allow God to have the preeminence and are completely submissive to God’s authority and administration. Ezek. 1:26, footnote 1, RcV BibleHowever, if we are believers who don’t have a clear sky with the throne above it in our Christian experience, we can easily be loose and careless in our daily living. Being loose and careless in our speaking, attitude, and living is an indication that we don’t maintain a clear sky with the throne above it.

A believer who has a sky that is crystal clear has the sense of being under the divine government and restraint; such a one cannot be loose or careless in what he says or does.

We need to check with our experience in this matter, and come to the Lord again and again, enthroning Him in our being, dealing with anything that is between us and Him, and maintaining a clear sky so that He would be on the throne and we would be under His rule.

If we have a clear sky, the throne will be present, and we will spontaneously be under the ruling and reigning of the throne.

It is good to check with ourselves, Do we allow the Lord to have the highest and most prominent position in our Christian life? Are we on the throne, or is it the Lord reigning in our being? Are we completely submissive to God’s authority and administration, or are we still deciding and ruling in our being?

Lord, grant us to have a clear sky with the throne of God above it in our spiritual experience. We allow You, Lord, to have the highest and most prominent position in our Christian life. Lord, we enthrone You in our being; You are on the throne, and we are under Your rule. Make us this kind of person who are completely submissive to Your authority and administration. Save us from being in rebellion or independence from You. We want to reach the highest point in our spiritual experience, that is of having a clear sky with the throne above it!

Living Completely under the Ruling of God for Him to Accomplish His Eternal Purpose

If we have a throne in our spiritual life, God will not only rule over us but will also fulfill His purpose in us, with us, and through us. Those who do not have the throne in their Christian life will not allow God to obtain His purpose with them. I hope that the Holy Spirit will deeply impress you with this matter. If you want God’s purpose and plan to be carried out in you and with you, you must be a person who submits to the throne. You must be a person under the reign of God. Only then can God carry out His purpose in relation to you. Life-study of Ezekiel, pp. 114-115, by Witness LeeThe clearer our sky is, the more we are under the throne of God; the more we have a clear fellowship with the Lord, the more we will be under His authority, and His throne is set up in the center of our being (see Rev. 22:1).

If we have the throne above the clear sky, we are greatly blessed, and we should worship God for this blessing. However, today there are not many believers who are living completely under the ruling of God.

Due to the continual fall of man, many men today live not under the Lord’s direct rule nor under self-rule but under the rule of authorities; the Lord wants us to deal with our conscience to recover us from human rule through self-rule to God’s rule, so that we may be directly under His control.

Many believers may consider that being under self-rule is the highest point, but in His complete salvation God desires to recover us to divine rule so that we may live before God in simplicity and under His direct authority.

What does it mean to be completely under God’s rule? To be under God’s rule means that we live by the intuition of the spirit; in our spirit we have a direct sense of God’s presence, and this sense should govern us.

We should not be governed merely by right or wrong, good or bad, or even spiritual or non-spiritual; what should govern us is the Lord’s direct presence in our spirit.

Do we have His presence as we say this or do that? The more we are ruled by God, the more weighty and noble we become; when God rules and reigns in our being, we become noble persons with a heavenly weight that gives others the impression of the divine being expressed in us.

When we are under the throne of God, we are not only under His rule but we are also for the fulfillment of His eternal purpose; God’s reign over us is for Him to accomplish His purpose (Rev. 4:11; Rom. 8:28; Eph. 1:9, 11; 3:11).

Our God is a God of purpose; He has a will according to His good pleasure (Eph. 1:5, 9), and in His economy God administrates the entire universe so that He may fulfill His purpose.

When we as believers in Christ enthrone the Lord in our being and live under His direct rule in our spirit, the result is not only God ruling over us but also the fulfillment of His purpose in us, with us, and through us (2 Tim. 1:9).

God doesn’t want merely to rule over us; He wants to accomplish His eternal purpose, so the direct result of our living under His rule in our spirit is that His purpose is accomplished in us. If we want God’s purpose and plan to be carried out in us and with us, we must submit to the throne.

Lord Jesus, recover us to the divine rule so that we may live before God in simplicity and under His direct authority. May we be those who live not only under the rule of the law and police, or under the self-rule – but under God’s ruling presence in our spirit. Oh Lord, bring our whole being with all our daily activities under the divine rule, so that You may have a way to accomplish Your eternal purpose. May there be a throne in our spiritual life so that God would rule over us and fulfill His purpose in us, with us, and through us!

The four living creatures are not only for the manifestation of the Lord and not only for the move of the Lord but also for the administration, the government, of the Lord. The Lord is among them and above them for His manifestation, move, and government. In such a situation God is not only the God of heaven but also the God of the earth (see footnote 3 on Matthew 11:25). Through the living creatures the heavens are open to the earth and are joined to the earth.

(Ezek. 1:26, footnote 1, Recovery Version Bible)
