we need to learn to pray the prayer of authority, telling the mountain to move!

This morning I enjoyed the portion in Mark 11:22-24, which says:

22 And Jesus answered and said to them, Have faith in God.
23 Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says happens, he will have it.
24 For this reason I say to you, All things that you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and you will have them.

In verse 24 the Lord is talking about prayer, but here He continues the thought in verse 23, where He speaks about telling the mountain to move. This means that our prayer needs to be not only asking the Lord to do things, but also telling the blockages, the mountains, the hindrances, to move out of our way – and believe it in our heart!

Have faith in God, and tell the problems to move away! This is what the prayer of authority is – not asking or begging God to remove the mountain, but exercising God’s authority to deal with the problems and with the things that need to be removed. We need to learn to pray this kind of prayer.

Most of the times in our experience we ask the Lord and implore Him to remove the mountain (a mountain is a problem or a blockage that stands in front of us and does not allow to grow in life, to see the Lord, or to continue in our Christian life), so that we may go on in our Christian life.

And many times it seems like God does not answer our prayers in this respect. The Lord tells us not to pray to Him about this mountain, but to speak directly to the mountain in faith “Be taken up and be cast into the sea”.

All of us have mountains (we have our temper, we may have evil thoughts, or physical illnesses, etc), but whatever is blocking us from going on in the spiritual pathway, we can command it to go away!

This is what we need to learn as those who aspire to be the overcomers. We can activate the power of God by our prayer – He is willing to do many things, but He needs us to pray. Even more, sometimes we just need to tell the mountain directly to MOVE!

When we pray these prayers of authority, we really know what prayer is + we bring the authority of God to the earth. We enthrone God in our situation / our circumstances / our being by us praying the prayers of authority!
