The blessing in 2 Cor. 13:14 is the same as that in Num. 6:22-27, for it is the eternal blessing of the Triune God – the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment. Hallelujah!
Thank the Lord for being a God of blessing, a God who blesses us with Himself as our everything! From the very beginning of the Bible, we see that God wants us to enjoy Him and partake of Him. The apostle Paul used to be a foremost sinner, even a persecutor of the church of God, but he was shown mercy by God, and he received God as grace.
When the Lord met him on the road to Damascus, He shined on Paul, and Paul (who was called Saul at that time), said, Who are You, Lord? Then he said, What shall I do, Lord? His whole life he lived according to these two questions: his life was a quest to know Christ, enjoy Christ, and gain Christ, and he wanted the Lord to tell him what to do for Him.
In a sense, Paul did a lot of things for the Lord through his evangelistic journeys; in another sense, toward the end of his life on earth, he didn’t seem to do much outwardly, for he was imprisoned and taken on long trips to Rome to be tried by Caesar.
However, even though Paul did not do much outwardly, he was still enjoying the grace of God in Christ inwardly, and in his letters, he was ministering Christ to all the saints.
When we think of the grace of God we may think it is something that is like a gift, a present, something that we don’t deserve but God gives to us, an unmerited favor.
But grace is much more than that. Grace is God in Christ coming to us to be our enjoyment and our everything. God gives Himself to us for our enjoyment. As we enjoy the Lord as grace, we enter into the reality of the good land, partaking of all the riches of the all-inclusive Christ as the life-giving Spirit.
This doesn’t mean that the outward situation is very good, and we are in peace and everything is fine; rather, in all kinds of circumstances, we enjoy the Lord, and His grace is sufficient for us.
In our sufferings, the Lord’s grace is sufficient for us. In our trials and tribulations, all we need to do is enjoy the Lord as grace.
This is the real blessing: enjoying God as grace. The grace of the Lord was not in vain to the apostles but rather, Paul suffered more than everyone else and also laboured more than all others, yet it was not him but the grace of God which was with him. Amen!
The Eternal Blessing of the Triune God: the Triune God dispensing Himself into us!
Many Christians are familiar with 2 Cor. 13:14, for it is the most commonly used verse or prayer uttered at the end of a Christian “service”, signalling the “end of church” for many young ones who are eagerly waiting to “get out of there.”
The grace of the Lord Jesus and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!
This blessing, which is the blessing of the Triune God, is also seen in Num. 6:22-27, where we see the eternal blessing of the Triune God.
In Numbers, Jehovah commanded Aaron and the priests to bless the children of Israel saying, Jehovah bless you and keep you; Jehovah make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; Jehovah lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
The blessing in 2 Corinthians 13:14 is the same as that in Numbers 6:22-27; this is the eternal blessing of the Triune God, which is the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment. Amen!
“Jehovah bless you and keep you” is the love of God the Father as the fountain of life and light (v. 24; Psa. 36:9).
“Jehovah make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you” is the grace of Christ as the fatness of God’s house (Num. 6:25; Psa. 36:8).
“Jehovah lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace” is the fellowship of the Holy Spirit as the river of God’s pleasures (Num. 6:26; Psa. 36:8).
The blessing here, both in the Old and the New Testament, is not related to our job, our health, our family, or our prosperity.
God wants to give Himself to us as our blessing. Our God is a God of blessing, however, the eternal blessing of the Triune God is not a matter of having a good job, a nice house, a high education, or a good family life.
This is the kind of blessing that we would expect in our natural man. Even the unbelievers think that, if God blesses us, we need to have a good house, a nice car, a good-paying job, and a good family life.
But the Bible doesn’t tell us that this is what God desires to give us, nor does the eternal blessing of the Triune God even mention these things.
We may look at our situation and see that we are not that rich, we may not have many things, our house is not the best, and even our health has problems. Sometimes we may look at ourselves and consider our situation, and we become disappointed; we think we don’t have anything.
It may seem that everything under the sun is vanity of vanities, and even the things of God may seem far and not real for us. When we feel this way, we simply need to turn to the Triune God.
God is our real blessing and our portion. God the Father blesses us and keeps us. God the Son makes His face to shine upon us and He is gracious to us, giving Himself to us as grace. God the Spirit lifts up His countenance upon us and gives us peace.
When we exercise our spirit and enjoy the eternal blessing of the Triune God, that is, when we enjoy the Triune God dispensing Himself into us, we are kept in Him and we receive grace and have peace. We need nothing else, for we have God.
The apostle Paul wrote 2 Cor. 13:14 when he was in prison; outwardly, he did not have much, but inwardly he was enjoying the eternal blessing of the Triune God.
We may not be the brightest, richest, or best people in society, but we have the Triune God as our blessing. We can enjoy God as our everything.
The Triune God is continually dispensing Himself into us. The Father as the source is full of love toward us, and He blesses us and keeps us.
The Son expresses the Father and makes His face to shine upon us, and He is gracious to us.
Isn’t the Lord Jesus so wonderful, so gracious, and so sweet? When we contact Him in spirit, we enjoy grace upon grace. The Spirit flows as fellowship with the Father and the Son, and He lifts up His countenance upon us.
When we enjoy the eternal blessing of the Triune God, we are filled with grace and peace, and we have need of nothing else, for we have God as our blessing!
Another portion speaking of the dispensing of the Divine Trinity into us, the eternal blessing of the Triune God, is Psa. 36:8-9.
In these verses, we see the Divine Trinity in His divine dispensing to be the enjoyment of His people in His house.
The fatness of God’s house refers to Christ, the Son. The river of God’s pleasures refers to the Spirit as the river of water of life (John 7:37-39; Rev. 22:1).
The fountain of life and light refers to the Father who is the source of life and light (John 1:3; 1 John 1:5; Rev. 21:23; 22:1-2, 5).
It is truly amazing that God has an eternal blessing – He wants to bless us with Himself for our enjoyment!
The entire divine revelation in God’s word shows us that the Triune God wants to work Himself into us, His chosen and redeemed people, so that He may be our life, our life supply, and our everything so that He may saturate our entire being with the Divine Trinity. Hallelujah!
For this, the Father is the source, the Son is the course, and the Spirit is the flowing of the Father with the Son to reach us as the river of God’s pleasures, gladdening the city of God and being everything to God’s people.
May we be those who enjoy the Triune God flowing into us day by day! May we remain under and enjoy the eternal blessing of the Divine Trinity day by day!
Lord Jesus, thank You for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in Christ in the heavenlies. Hallelujah, God the Father blesses us and keeps us. Praise the Lord, Christ the Son makes His face shine upon us and is gracious to us. Amen, God the Spirit lifts up His countenance upon us and gives us peace. We open to You, Lord Jesus, and we come to You; we exercise our spirit to enjoy You and partake of this eternal blessing of the Divine Trinity! Praise the Lord, the Triune God is dispensing Himself into us today! Oh, what a blessing it is to enjoy the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity! We are saturated with the fatness of God’s house, and He causes us to drink of the river of His pleasures, for with Him is the fountain of life and light! Father, we come to You in the Son by the Spirit to enjoy You, partake of God’s riches, and be filled with You! Hallelujah, the Triune God is working Himself into us to be our life and life supply so that He may saturate our entire being with the Divine Trinity! Amen, Lord, we open to Your divine dispensing today!
What a Blessing it is to have the Triune God as our Blessing! We can Enjoy Him Daily as Grace!
What many people today consider a blessing many times turns out to be not a blessing but a suffering. Things such as a nice house, a good car, and even a good wife are not a blessing; only God, the Triune God dispensed into us, is the real blessing.
Our God is a God of blessing; He blesses us with Himself as our blessing. This is why, when Paul wrote to the different churches in his epistles, he always began with a word concerning grace and peace.
He doesn’t bless them with outward prosperity or a better job; he ministers the Triune God into the believers for their enjoyment. Grace is God the Son dispensed into us for our enjoyment and peace is of the Spirit.
As we enjoy Christ as grace, we have peace; we receive grace in the Son and we enjoy peace in the Spirit.
In the Old Testament, it was not possible to enjoy grace, for grace came when Christ came. Before Christ came, the law was given through Moses, but Christ came, and He was full of grace and reality (John 1:1, 14).
When we come to the Lord today, we receive of His fullness, and grace upon grace (v. 15). Grace is not a thing but a person, the Triune God in Christ being our enjoyment and our everything.
When we enjoy Christ as grace, we have peace. Peace is not a thing: peace is a person, Christ as the Spirit becoming the spirit of peace within us. Hallelujah!
The peace which the world gives us is not real peace; this peace is here today but gone tomorrow. But the peace that God gives us in Christ through the Spirit of peace is real peace.
God doesn’t give us things; He gives Himself to us as the eternal blessing of the Triune God for us to enjoy Him, and as a result, we have grace, peace, and everything we need. What a blessing it is for us as believers in Christ to have God as our blessing!
What a blessing it is for us to enjoy the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment! As we enjoy the Triune God, we partake of God’s eternal blessing, and we are truly blessed!
What better blessing can we ask for than to have God’s presence, His very face? We believers in Christ enjoy the presence of God as our blessing day by day, for we enjoy Him daily as grace.
We may be suffering, we may be under persecution, and we may not be healthy in our physical body, but we inwardly enjoy the eternal blessing of the Triune God. We turn our heart to the Lord and all veils are taken away (2 Cor. 3:16); then, we behold Him face to face and we are infused with Him.
What a blessing it is for us to have the Lord’s countenance smiling upon us, assuring us, confirming us, and giving us everything we need in Christ!
Grace and reality are in Christ, and when we behold the Lord face to face, we are infused with all that we need. What a blessing it is for us to have peace in Christ, by Christ, and with Christ.
When we look at someone’s face, we are clear concerning their intentions toward us and we see what’s going on in their inner being.
When we look to the Lord’s face, when we behold Him face to face, we see that His face is shinig upon us, His countenance is uplifted, and He gives us grace and peace. Hallelujah! The grace of God in His economy is rich, multiplying, and abounding (Eph. 2:7; 1 Pet. 1:2b; 2 Pet. 1:2; Eph. 1:7b-8). Amen!
God has graced us in the Beloved (v. 6); we are blessed people, for we are grace in Christ. We have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand (Rom. 5:2a). When Christ in us is daily received, experienced, and enjoyed by us, that is grace being added to us, grace upon grace (John 1:16. Praise the Lord!
What a blessing it is for us to have the Triune God as our blessing! Hallelujah, we believers in Christ are a blessed people, for God blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies! We thank You, Lord, and we praise You for the eternal blessing of the Triune God. Thank You for causing Your face to shine on us. Thank You for lifting up Your countenance and giving us peace. Even though we suffer, we can enjoy You as grace. Praise the Lord, Christ came as grace for us to enjoy Him and participate in Him! Hallelujah, what a blessing it is to have God’s face, His presence, and to enjoy Him daily as grace! We come to You, Lord, and we just open to enjoy You! We want to enjoy, experience, and receive Christ into us so that grace may be added to us! Wow, the grace of God in His economy is rich, multiplying, and abounding! Praise the Lord, we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand!
