We Exercise our Spirit to Walk in Newness of Life and Serve in Newness of Spirit

...we serve in newness of spirit and not in oldness of letter. Rom. 7:6

As believers in Christ whose old man was crucified and buried and who now live in resurrection one with the Lord, we need to walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit by exercising our spirit in our daily life and also when we come to the meetings of teh church to live Christ and speak Christ. Amen!

This week, we have been enjoying Christ as our New Husband as revealed in Romans 7:2-6. Oh, how wonderful it is to know and enjoy Christ as our new Husband!

Before we were saved, we were dead in sins and offenses, enemies of God, rebellious against God, and sinful before Him. Even more, we were married to the old man, who assumed the position of a husband. We were truly in a pitiful and low condition.

But praise the Lord, the God who created us in His image and according to His likeness, came to be a man, He courted us through His life and walk on earth, and He died on the cross to redeem us and bring us back to Himself.

Through our faith in Christ, our old man is buried with Christ, and we are free to join Christ as our new Husband. Praise the Lord, our old man, the old husband, has been crucified and is buried, and now we have the status of a wife, that is, the wife of Christ!

This is the spiritual reality we enter through our regeneration.

However, in our daily life, so many times we still live in the old man, thus being married to the old man and being under the law, unable to fulfil God’s requirements. God gave the law for the old man to be exposed and subdued.

The law is not for us to try to keep; rather, it is for us to break and turn to the Lord, the only One who lives in our spirit and who can keep the law.

Thank the Lord that our old man has been crucified to the law through the body of Christ so that we might marry another husband, Christ, who has been raised from the dead.

When we believe into Christ and are baptised into Him, our old man is buried with Christ and remains in death, and we are free to marry Christ, our new Husband!

Now we depend on Christ, loving Him as our Husband, taking Him as our Head, and taking Him as our life and person. We no longer live by ourselves or in ourselves; we are independent of the Lord.

As a wife, we now bear fruit to God, that is, we enjoy Christ and live Christ, and God is brought forth through us. God is brought forth as our fruit in our daily living as we enjoy Christ and remain in our mingled spirit.

Hallelujah, we have died ot the law in which we were held so that we may be discharged from it, and we, as the wife, are no longer under law but under grace, enjoying Christ and living Christ!

As the Wife, we believers Walk in Newness of Life and Serve in Newness of Spirit

...just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we might walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:4

With regard to our daily living and walk, we believers in Christ need to walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:4); with regards to our service to God, we need to serve in newness of spirit (v. 6).

Praise the Lord, we believers in Christ are no longer under law, for we died to the law and have been discharged from it; we now serve in newness of spirit and not in oldness of letter.

As the wife of Christ, we should serve the Lord in newness of spirit, not in oldness of letter. Hallelujah, we now have a new life in Christ and with Christ!

But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held, so that we serve in newness of spirit and not in oldness of letter. Rom. 7:6Our Christian life and work are not in ourselves or by our striving and struggling; we walk in newness of life, and we serve in newness of spirit. Amen, our whole Christian life is in newness, which is Christ as the Spirit in our spirit!

May we realise that we have newness of life for our living and we have newness of spirit for our service.

How can we be new? How can we be in newness? It is only by being joined with Christ in His death and resurrection. We can walk in newness of life only by being identified with Christ’s resurrection for our walk in daily life.

When we exercise our spirit and contact the Lord, on the negative side, our old man is put to death and buried with Christ in His death, and on the positive side, we walk in newness of life, being one with Christ in His resurrection.

Newness of spirit issues from being discharged from the law and being joined to the resurrected Christ, and this newness is for our service to God.

Praise the Lord, because the old man has been crucified with Christ and we now are one with Him in His resurrection; we can walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit!

All these are related to the Spirit, whom Christ became in His resurrection; this Spirit is new, fresh, living, and life-giving, and we are joined to Him as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17; 15:45).

The newness of life in which we walk is related to Christ in His resurrection, who is the life-giving Spirit. The newness of spirit refers to our regenerated spirit, in which the Lord as the Spirit dwells (2 Tim. 4:22). Hallelujah!

We need to see that our spirit is new, and the Spirit in our spirit is the source of our newness! Everything related to our human spirit mingled with the divine Spirit is new, for God, as the source of our newness, is in our spirit.

We all can testify that, when we turn to our spirit, set our mind on our spirit, and exercise to live in the mingled spirit, we sense newness, for everything about the Lord as the Spirit in our spirit is new.

God is new, fresh, and living, and He is the source of newness. The Holy Spirit is new, Christ is new, and the Word of God is new.

When we exercise our spirit and come to the Word of God, we enjoy newness, we walk in newness of life, and we serve in newness of spirit.

May we learn to exercise our spirit continually and in all things so that our living and walk may be in newness of life, one with the resurrected Christ, and our service would be in newness of spirit, in our mingled spirit. In ourselves, in our natural man, everything is old; it is the same old, same old things.

When we live in the natural man, we are old and becoming old, but when we live in our mingled spirit, we are new and we’re becoming new!

...the last Adam [became] a life-giving Spirit. 1 Cor. 15:45 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. 2 Tim. 4:22 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17May we see that newness of life issues from our being identified with Christ’s resurrection and is for our service to God, and may we remain one spirit with the Lord!

May we realise that we have been discharged from the law and we’re joined to the resurrected Christ so that we may serve in newness of spirit!

This is beyond our natural capacity to understand: this is something we can touch and experience only in our mingled spirit. We need to be in our spirit, remain in our spirit, and do all things in our spirit so that we may walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit.

When we exercise our spirit to contact the Lord and enjoy Him, our old man is crucified and buried, and Christ as the Spirit, has a way to fill us, saturate us, and express God through us.

Thank the Lord that in our spirit the Lord as the Spirit dwells, for we are joined to Him as one spirit. When we are in our spirit, we do not serve God because we have to or because of some rules, regulations, and ordinances according to the law.

Rather, we serve God in newness of spirit! May we come to the Lord again and again concerning our daily walk and service and tell Him,

Lord Jesus, we want to walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit! Hallelujah, we are identified with Christ’s resurrection so that we may be in and walk in newness of life! Praise the Lord, we have been discharged from the law and we’re joined to the resurrected Christ for us to serve in newness of spirit! Oh Lord, we turn to our spirit right now! We exercise our spirit to contact You. We want to touch You in a fresh way. We love You, Lord, and we love our mingled spirit! We exercise our spirit and we want to live and walk in our spirit. Hallelujah, Christ as the life-giving Spirit is in our spirit, and we are mingled with the Lord as one spirit! Praise the Lord, God in Christ as the Spirit is the source of newness, and newness is in our spirit! Amen, Lord, we want to live and walk according to our spirit! We do not want to serve You in oldness of letter but in newness of spirit! We don’t want to walk in the old man but walk in newness of life, one with the resurrected Christ in our spirit!

We need to Exercise our Spirit to Serve the Lord in Newness of Spirit by Ministering Christ to others

...the last Adam [became] a life-giving Spirit. 1 Cor. 15:45 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. 2 Tim. 4:22 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17

Our Christian life, our Christian walk, and our Christian service are altogether wrapped up with Christ as the Spirit mingled with our spirit.

We have no way to live the Christian life, walk the Christian path, and serve the Lord as Christians if we do not know our spirit, live in the spirit, and walk according to the spirit.

If we don’t know and realise that we’re joined to the Lord as one spirit, that we have been discharged from the law, and that our old man is crucified with Christ, we will merely do a work for the Lord according to the oldness of the letter.

For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of His Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers. Rom. 1:9The written law in the Bible with all the ordinances, requirements, and regulations, will guide us in our service, and this will be dead service, something that is not pleasing to God nor acceptable to Him.

May we realise that we, as the old man, have been crucified with Christ, and may we see that we as the new man, are freed from the old man’s law and have been married to our new Husband, the resurrected Christ!

Now as those joined to the Lord, we live in an organic union with Him and we bear fruit to God by walking in newness of life and serving in newness of spirit.

How can we serve in newness of spirit? It is by exercising our spirit. Paul said that he served God in his spirit (Rom. 1:9); our service to God must be in spirit.

We need to exercise our spirit in our daily life in order to walk in newness of life. We need to exercise our spirit when we come to the meetings of the church and when we serve the Lord so that we may serve in newness of spirit.

The key is exercising our spirit. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet (1 Cor. 14:32); if we exercise our spirit, if we stir our spirit up to touch the Lord, our spirit will be living, fresh, and new, and we will have something new of the Lord to share with the saints for the building up of the Body (2 Cor. 4:13; Eph. 4:15-16).

In our daily life, we need to exercise our spirit to touch the Lord, enjoy Him in the Word, and live one with the Lord.

Then, when we come to the meetings of the church, we need to exercise our spirit to be one with the Lord and share something new and fresh from the Lord for the building up of the church.

When we come to the meetings of the church, we need to prepare something of Christ to share with the saints, but we should not merely impart knowledge to others, but exercise our spirit.

When we stand up and exercise our spirit, the Lord has a way to speak through us.

Sometimes we have a certain point of truth prepared to share, but when we exercise our spirit in our speaking, the Lord releases another burden in a fresh way through us.

If we merely impart a great deal of information and give a message according to a certain memorised material, that message will be old, filled with the oldness of dead knowledge.

But if we forget about anything else and just exercise our spirit to speak one with the Lord, He has a way to shine and speak through us what He wants to speak. Praise the Lord!

Oh, may we realise that we as regenerated people, have been joined to Christ as our new Husband, and we now bear fruit to God!

And having the same spirit of faith according to that which is written, "I believed, therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak. 2 Cor. 4:13Everything we do, everything we say, and everything we are must be God Himself. Then, God will overflow from our being to become our fruit to God.

This fruit to God in our daily living will be our walk in newness of life, and in our service to God, it will be serving in newness of spirit. Amen!

Day by day in our daily living, we need to deny our old man continually and take Christ as our life. Because He is the newness of the spirit, we need to discern the spirit from the soul.

We need to apply the cross to our soul so that we can turn from the soul to the spirit. In order to exercise our spirit, we need to pray; before we do anything or say anything, we need to pray.

When we pray and contact the Lord, we enjoy Him as the newness and freshness, and we will walk in newness of life and serve in newness of the spirit (Acts 5:20). Then, when we come to the meetings of the church, may we be delivered from any old tradition and form and just flow out Christ!

May we not rely on any old knowledge or doctrines but simply exercise our spirit and serve the Lord by the inner anointing, exercising our spirit to speak Christ, minister Christ, and dispense Christ into others! Hallelujah! May this be the reality of our daily living and service in the Lord!

Lord Jesus, we exercise our spirit today to walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit! Amen, Lord, we love You as our new Husband and we want to bear fruit to God in our living and our work! Cause us to realise that we, as the new man, are freed from the old man’s law and have been married to the resurrected Christ as our new Husband! Amen, Lord, may we bear fruit to God today in whatever we are, whatever we have, and whatever we do! May God be brought forth in us in our daily living as we walk in newness of life. May God be brought forth and ministered through us as we exercise our spirit to serve in newness of spirit! Amen, Lord, we thank You for freeing us from the law related to the old man. We want to serve You in our spirit. We want to follow the inner anointing and do all things, even speak all things, in our spirit! Hallelujah, our spirit is life! Praise the Lord, our spirit is new! Amen, Lord, we want to live with and by our new Husband today by walking in newness of life and serving in newness of spirit!

We all must learn how to exercise our spirit. When you come to the meetings of the church, do not exercise your memory. Exercise your spirit. If you exercise your spirit, you will have something new to offer the brothers and sisters. This is also true in giving a message. If I retain a great deal of information in my memory and try to give a message according to this memorized material, that message will be old, filled with the oldness of dead knowledge. However, if I forget my memory and exercise my spirit as I give the message, something new will burst forth. I had this kind of experience during the Erie conference in 1969. In one meeting I stood up to speak but was not clear concerning the content of the message. I stood by faith, exercising my spirit. Immediately, the matter of the seven Spirits in the book of Revelation came forth. Everyone who heard that message can testify that it was new, fresh, powerful, and living. That was the first day the sevenfold intensified Spirit came forth. As regenerated people who have been joined to Christ as the new Husband, we must bear fruit to God. Whatever we do, are, and have must be God Himself. God overflows from our being to become our fruit to God Himself. We must also serve the Lord in newness of spirit, not in oldness of letter, not in oldness of the law. We have nothing to do with the law any longer. We have been freed from it. Now we are under grace, living with and by our new Husband, who is Christ.

Amen Lord may we exercise our spirit in all things today.

We have nothing to do with the old law, old man or oldness of letter.

Yes, brother, we are resurrected with the resurrection of Christ in glory so that we can live and walk with the new life.

This new life is because of the dispensation of the life-giving Spirit into our spirit so that our spirit can be regenerated as the new spirit to exercise Him and serve the church with the new revelation to edify His body.

We are not serving the church depending on our experience, but on today’s revelation of His word with our new spirit.

Praise the Lord for new life to walk in peace and the new spirit to serve.

Brother, as Christians, through identification with Christ’s death and resurrection, we have newness of life for our daily walk and living.

This is related to Christ in resurrection, who is the life-giving Spirit.

God’s life must therefore overflow from our being, bearing fruit to God in whatever we are and do (Rom. 6:4)

We also need to realize that we, as the old man, have been crucified with Christ, God has renewed our spirit, and that we, as the new man, are freed from the old man’s law and have been married to our new Husband, the resurrected Christ, that we might bear fruit to God and serve the Lord in newness of spirit. (Rom. 7:6)

Our life, living, and service are related to the Spirit. Therefore, we need to learn how to exercise our spirit to serve the Lord in newness of spirit, not in oldness of the law!

May our living be in newness of life and our service in newness of spirit to the pleasure of God and man!

God has renewed our spirit so that we may serve Him in newness of spirit. In our regenerated spirit, there’s nothing but newness.

Therefore, if we exercise our spirit, something new will burst forth from our innermost being and will be fruit to God.

Whatever we do, are and have must be God Himself.

When we exercise our spirit, God overflows from our being to become our fruit to God Himself.

We have been freed from the Law. Now we are under grace, living with and by our new Husband who is Christ.

In Rom. 6:4, newness of life issues from our being identified with Christ’s resurrection and is for our walk in our daily life. Here, newness of spirit issues from our being discharged from the law and being joined to the resurrected Christ, and is for our service to God. Thus, both newness of spirit and newness of life are results of the crucifixion of the old man. Rom. 7:6 footnote 3 on, newness

Referring to our regenerated human spirit, in which the Lord as the Spirit dwells (2 Tim. 4:22). Everything that is related to our regenerated spirit is new, and everything that comes out of our spirit is new. Our regenerated spirit is a source of newness because the Lord, the life of God, and the Holy Spirit are there (see note 2 on Rom. 1:9). Rom. 7:6 footnote 4 on, spirit.
