Being in One Spirit with One Soul: Take Christ as Everything to have the Same Mind

Make my joy full, that you think the same thing, having the same love, joined in soul, thinking the one thing. Phil 2:2

As we are practicing the one accord, we need to be in one spirit with one soul; to have the one accord is to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion, taking Christ as our everything and thinking and speaking Christ in all things. Amen!

We believers in Christ can practice the oneness – the one accord – as we pay attention to the apostles’ teaching and remain in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles.

When we focus on the apostles’ teaching, our mind is being renewed and subdued, and we do not utter our own opinions nor do we express our differences but we are attuned in the same mind.

God the Father is the source, and He came in the Son to be expressed and manifested through the Son. The Son hears from the Father and speaks, and the Spirit takes things from the Son and reveals them to us.

The apostles are in fellowship with the Father and the Son, and they speak to us what the Father and the Son speak.

We are under the unique ministry of the New Testament, the apostles’ teaching; we simply need to be in one accord by continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching.

When we do this, we realise that our mind is wild, going all kinds of places and thinking all kinds of things, and we also see that our emotions are not regulated but loving what they prefer and hating what they don’t like.

Even more, our words are simply our opinions, which are things different from the economy of God, which is in faith. Oh Lord!

Simply by being what we are in our natural man, by not exercising our spirit to remain in one spirit with the Lord, we bring in problems and even division in the church life.

We may even be serving the Lord, but we may not be in one accord with the saints we serve with. Oh Lord Jesus!

We need to hold to the apostles’ teaching, for the teaching of the apostles is the holding factor of the one accord.

May we give ourselves to the Lord to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion so that we may be one soul – one not only in spirit but also in our soul.

May the Lord recover the one accord among us, and may we cooperate with Him to attune us in our mind and feeling so that we may have the practice of the oneness.

Thank the Lord that we have the oneness, for oneness is in the Spirit and the oneness is the Spirit, and the Spirit is in the Body. We only need to keep the oneness and practice the oneness.

Practice the One Accord by being in One Spirit with One Soul, being Attuned in Soul

Only, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, that whether coming and seeing you or being absent, I may hear of the things concerning you, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving together along with the faith of the gospel. Phil. 1:27

The Lord Jesus prayed in John 17 that we would be one, and then He indicated that we can pray in one accord (Matt. 18:19). The one hundred twenty disciples practiced the Lord’s direction by praying together in one accord in Acts 1:14.

We believers in Christ have another life, the divine life; we have the oneness of the Body, and now we simply need to practice the genuine oneness of the Body.

How do we practice the one accord? In practicing the one accord, we need to be in one spirit with one soul (Phil. 1:27; 2:2, 5; 4:2).

This means that we need to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion so that we may be one in our soul (1 Cor. 1:10; Phil. 1:27; 2:2, 5; 4:2).

We need to not only exercise our spirit and be one in spirit but even more, be with one soul – in one spirit with one soul. We may be sitting in the meeting with the saints, but if we’re not in our spirit, we cannot be one in our soul.

May we learn to turn to our spirit and then enter into our soul with the spirit that we may be in one accord. The mingled spirit has to spread in our soul to renew and transform the soul so that we may be in one spirit with our soul.

How much we need our soul to be renewed! For us to practice the one accord, we must be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion.

How can we have the same mind and the same opinion? How can we be in one spirit with one soul? We all think differently, we all have different opinions, and our speaking and our way of speaking is different.

We need to be in one spirit with one soul; for this, we need to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion.

We see an example of what we are in 1 Corinthians chapter 1, where some Corinthian believers were not attuned in the same mind, so they spoke differently in the flesh.

Some said that they are of Paul, others said they were of Apollos, still others said they are of Cephas, and some more spiritual ones said they are of Christ. Such different thinking and speaking caused divisions among the Corinthians.

They needed to be in one spirit with one soul; for this, they had to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion.

The word attune can be translated as mending, and it means to repair, to restore, to adjust, to mend, making a broken thing thoroughly complete, joined perfectly together.

Now I beseech you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion. 1 Cor. 1:10We need to be mended in order to be joined together so that we may be in harmony, having the same mind and the same opinion to speak the same thing, which is Christ and His cross.

Our soul is so complicated and full of problems, and our mind is focused on many things that it should not be focused on. We need to ask the Lord to attune us in the same mind and in the same opinion so that we may be one in soul.

On the one hand, when we stand in spirit, we are one in spirit; in this way, we experience Christ both personally and corporately.

However, to be one in soul is more difficult than to be in one spirit, for it requires that we go further and be transformed in our soul. We need to be transformed especially in our mind, which is the leading part of our soul.

May we open to the Lord concerning this matter and allow Him to renew our mind and transform our soul for the sake of the building up of the church.

May we ask Him to attune us in the same mind and in the same soul for Him to gain the one accord among us as we have the same mind and the same opinion.

Lord Jesus, we want to stand firm in one spirit with one soul in the church life. Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit and we stand firm in the spirit today! Praise the Lord, we are one with God and we are one with all the saints in spirit! Amen, Lord, keep us in our spirit today. Keep us exercising our spirit and doing all things in our spirit! We want to follow Your direction to practice the one accord by praying together in one accord. Attune us in the same mind and in the same opinion. We turn to You. We set our mind on our spirit. Save us from expressing our opinions, which show our differences in thinking. Oh Lord, have a way to transform us in our soul. Renew our mind, balance our emotion, and subdue our will so that we may be one with You in every possible way. Amen, Lord, we want to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion so that we may be one in soul for Your testimony on the earth!

Take Christ as Everything to Speak the Same Thing and have the Same Mind and Opinion

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Phil. 2:5

Being in one accord affects our whole being; this results in our being one in our outward speaking (Rom. 15:5-6).

How can we speak the same thing and even have the same mind and the same opinion so that we may have the one accord in practicality? It is only by taking Christ as our centre and our everything.

In our daily life, we need to take Christ as our centre and everything so that what we speak, think, and understand will all be Christ. This is how we practice the oneness.

And He is the Head of the Body, the church; He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that He Himself might have the first place in all things. Col. 1:18We can be one only when we take Christ as everything. Others may say that they are of Paul, of Cephas, of Apollos, or maybe even of Christ, for these think they are more spiritual.

But we are not of anything or of anyone; we simply take Christ as everything and we speak the same thing, which is Christ.

When we say we’re of this or that person or we are in this or that denomination or movement, the Body of Christ is lost, the oneness is gone, and the building is no more. Oh Lord!

We need to be captured by the Lord so that we would focus not on this or that thing or person but on Christ (1 Cor. 1:10). We need to think of Christ and not of our own things.

We need to have Christ as our view. Our way of speaking must be Christ. We should speak of Christ, not of our own things and interests. Christ needs to be our opinion and our judgment.

We need to pay attention to Christ, consider Christ, be filled with Christ, and speak Christ. Christ needs to become our everything; then, we can be one, and we can have the one accord.

Our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ went through death and resurrection and has become the life-giving Spirit in His resurrection (1 Cor. 15:45), and as such a One, He is now in our spirit to be our enjoyment within.

Hallelujah, we can enjoy the Lord, we can allow Him to make His home in our heart, and we can let Him transform us, even renew our mind so that we think what He thinks. Amen!

To have one mind and one mouth means that we have only one Head – Christ. Christ is our Head, and we should think with the mind of Christ and speak with the mouth of the Head (Col. 1:18; Phil. 2:2, 5; 4:2).

Thank the Lord, we believers in Christ have the mind of Christ. We should not examine ourselves and see if we have the mind of Christ; rather, we should pray over this verse and ask the Lord to be our mind.

We want His mind to become our mind and His feeling to become our feeling. As we do this, as we consider Christ, enjoy Christ, and express Christ, we will be harmonious and one, and He will be expressed through us.

Whenever we are in one accord, we will speak with one mouth. There will be one mind – the same mind, there will be one opinion – the same opinion, and there will be one speaking – the same speaking.

This is all because Christ is everything to us and we speak what He speaks, for we express Him in full. Philippians 2:2 says that we need to think the same thing, even the one thing.

This one thing, this same think, refers to the subjective knowledge and experience of Christ. Christ needs to become the centrality and universality of our whole being. Anything and anyone apart from Christ can make our mind different and can cause division.

Now the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind toward one another according to Christ Jesus, That with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 15:5-6When we set our mind on anything or anyone apart from Christ, we will not have oneness but rather, disunity will be present. May we learn to focus all our thoughts on the precious knowledge and experience of Christ.

Like Paul, may we forget the things which are behind and stretch forward to gain Christ, enjoy Christ, be filled with Christ, know Christ, and be one with Christ in all things.

We may prefer one brother above others, we may receive one’s ministry more than other’s, or we may even classify people as we care for them or love them.

Our natural being is preferential, wavering, and divisive. Especially in our loving the saints, we need to have the same love, not classify them into categories.

If we classify the saints, if we think some are better or nicer than others, and if we express our preferences, there will be differences, and the one accord will be gone. Oh Lord Jesus!

May we focus only on the subjective knowledge, experience, and enjoyment of Christ, and may we learn to love all the saints, even to speak the same thing, the one thing, for the building up of the church.

Lord Jesus, we take You as our centre and everything in our daily life. We open to You. Be the centre and everything to us. May Christ be our everything so that everything we speak, think, and understand will be Christ. Amen, Lord, thank You we have You as our oneness; we want to focus on You and set our whole being on You! May we all be thinking about Christ and may we all speak about Christ. May we take Christ as our view, our way of speaking, our opinion, and our judgment. We put ourselves aside and we focus only on You, dear Lord Jesus! Oh Lord, the practice of our oneness – our having the one accord – depends on You! Grant us to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion so that we may think the same thing! We want to focus on nothing else but the subjective knowledge and experience of Christ! May Christ be the centrality and universality of our whole being! Amen, Lord, may we all speak the same thing – even the one thing, which is Christ!

The proper one accord in the church is the practice of the genuine oneness of the Body…Before the Lord prayed for the oneness…, He trained His disciples to practice the one accord…A little more than forty days after the Lord’s prayer in John 17, the one hundred twenty disciples practiced the Lord’s direction in Matthew 18 by praying together in one accord (Acts 1:14). When we practice the one accord, we must learn to be in one spirit and with one soul (Phil. 1:27). We may be bodily sitting together in the same room, but if we are not one in our spirit, it is certain that we will not be one in our soul. To practice the one accord, we must learn to turn to our spirit and then to enter into our soul with the spirit that we may be in the one accord. Hi there,
Thank you for posting this.
It has to be real to me that the One, i call by the name of I ( the Christ in me, no longer i) is the One in Spirit .
If I talk about It , it is of my soul and by that, the Christ I call I, is divided.
When I use the word union it implies two or more things joined together for example a cup and coffee, but true ” union” Is when two things or more become One and cannot be divided again as they were…that is One in Spitit .
Union in soul is progressive, ever perfecting as the renewing of the mind is, but only by the Holy Spirit.
How does the I ( the no longer i) knows is One in Spirit ?
The i (the me ) that is united in Christ, has not conscience of himself, it has forgotten who he is and by being united with Christ is now a new creature, with a new conscience of his own .
But we need to give our mind , our legs, our arms and our body to the Chist who lives in us as He desires to manifest through us, the treasure in our earthy vessels.
When we recon ourselves dead in Christ , He is the only One who live’s in us.
Thank you

Stefano.

Dear brother! To practice the one accord, we must learn to turn to our spirit and then to enter into our soul with the spirit that we may be in the one accord. In our daily life, if we take Christ as our centre and everything, what we speak, think, and understand will all be Christ. This is the one accord, which is the practice of oneness.

Oh, that we would all be captured by the Lord! The practice of our oneness depends on Him. Our need is to think Christ, speak Christ, consider Him, enjoy Him, and express Him in our opinions and judgment. In this way, we will be harmonious and one!

Lord, turn us to our spirit daily! Be our daily centre! Become our subjective knowledge and experience in all we do and say! Gain in us the oneness in genuine one accord! We love You, Lord!

Amen, attune us Lord. Like the early disciples, we must carrying out the movement of Gods economy through three main substances, prayer, spirit and the word, doing the same thing in the same way to avoid division.

I appreciated the word today concerning prayer that we must leave ourselves open to let the Lord come in and expose us to the light.

Lord, bring our entire being into the light and expose our real condition and saturate us through prayer so that when we speak every word is powerful and attuned

Dear brother, we should be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion; this is to be one in our soul.

The only way to be with one accord and with one mouth is to allow Christ the room to be everything in our heart and in our mouth so that God may be glorified.

Lord Jesus, attune us in the same mind and heart. Become everything to us and in us. May we all speak the same thing, Christ Himself for the building up of the church.
