Have one Heart to Seek & Love God and one Way, the Triune God, to be in One Accord

And I will give them one heart and one way, to fear Me all the days, for their own good and for the good of their children after them. Jer. 32:39

In order for us to be in one accord, we need to have one heart and one way, and we should have only one scale in the church life, for this is the way to keep the oneness and one accord in the church.

Amen, Lord, gain the one accord among us!

In order to have the one accord, we need to both have harmony in our inner being and be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion.

On the personal side, we need to allow the Lord to transform us by the renewing of our mind. On the corporate side, we need to be in one spirit with one soul, being attuned in the same mind and opinion.

One of the main reasons we do not have the one accord is that we do not have the same thinking; I think a certain way and you think differently.

We need to think the same thing, even the one thing. This is why we believers in Christ need to focus not on teachings, doctrines, or practices; we should focus only on Christ.

Christ is the source of our oneness. We can be one only in the Lord and by the Lord, so we need to take Christ as our everything and as our centre.

When Christ is our everything, we will speak Christ, for we will all focus only on the indwelling Christ we enjoy and experience. When we are one in our whole being, we will also be one in our outward speaking.

We do not know what is in the being of other saints until we speak to them; then, what constitutes them comes out.

If the saints enjoy Christ, eat Christ, pursue Christ, and focus on Christ, they will also speak Christ, for the Christ who constitutes them will flow out of their being.

May we allow the mind of Christ to become our mind; the same mind which was in Christ needs to be in us. He had a particular mind, a particular thinking, and His mind needs to become our mind.

When we think with the mind of Christ, we will also speak with the mouth of Christ.

But if we have different minds, if we do not allow our mind to be renewed in God’s word and we don’t allow the Lord to attune us in the same mind and in the same opinion, division will come in. Oh Lord Jesus!

May the Lord have a way in our being. May we all focus on the one thing, which is the enjoyment and experience of the all-inclusive Christ.

As we enjoy Him and experience Him, we will also flow Him out in our speaking.

To have one accord is to speak the one thing with one mouth; even though we’re many and we all are speaking, we all speak the same thing! Hallelujah!

Have one Heart to Seek & Love God and one Way, the Triune God, to be in One Accord

Now I beseech you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion. 1 Cor. 1:10

In order for us to be in one accord, we need to have one heart and one way (see Jer. 32:39; Acts 1:14; 2:46; 4:24).

If we really mean business with the Lord and His recovery, we will first of all take care of one thing – the one accord. If we mean business with the Lord’s present day, up-to-date move, we must first take care of the one accord.

The one accord is necessary for anything else that we need to do or be in the church life and in the Christian life.

When the Lord Jesus was on the earth, He taught the disciples many things, but He also did not teach them many things, for they could not take them.

He said that He had many things to say to the disciples which they could not bear, but He would come to them after His death and in His resurrection as the Spirit of reality to speak to them.

Then, He went through death and came back in His resurrection as the life-giving Spirit. Now He is with us, the believers in Christ as His many disciples.

We need to do what the first disciples did – pray in one accord until the Lord has a way among us (Acts 1:14). How can we be in one accord?

In order for us to be in one accord, as we see in Jeremiah 32:39, we need to have one heart and one way. We believers in Christ need to have one heart to love God, to seek God, to live God, and to be constituted with God so that we may be His expression (Mark 12:30; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 3:16-17).

Our unique focus today should be to love the Lord and seek Him. We should live God and be constituted with God so that we may become His expression. This is what our heart is for today.

We should have a heart for this – for loving God, seeking God, and living God so that God may become the constituent of our being and we would express Him.

Also, we need to have one way, which is the Triune God Himself as the inner law of life with its divine capacity (Jer. 31:33-34; John 14:6).

Through regeneration, the Lord gave us a new heart and a new spirit, and now He is writing His laws on our heart and He’s imparting His laws into our inner being.

We have the inner law of life with its divine capacity; when we turn to our spirit, we can enjoy the operating of the law of life in us. We need to see that the one accord is related to our heart and Christ; for us to be in one accord, Christ must have access to our heart.

Otherwise, we will not have the one accord. We need to have one heart and one way; we need to have one heart to seek the Lord and love Him, and have one way which is the Triune God as the inner law of life.

If we do not have one heart and one way, we will not have the one accord; rather, divisions come in.

Divisions result from having a heart for something other than Christ and taking a way other than Christ (1 Cor. 1:13a; 2:2; Col. 2:8; Acts 15:35-40).

For I did not determine to know anything among you except Jesus Christ, and this One crucified. 1 Cor. 2:2 Beware that no one carries you off as spoil through his philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ. Col. 2:8Christ is our way. He is the way. In what we speak and the way we speak, we need to take Christ as the way. Many times we do things our way, and problems and division come in.

But we need to take the way of the Lord, which is the inner law of life, the Triune God in us as our way.

At the end of Romans, the apostle Paul spoke concerning the need of the believers to be with one accord and with one mouth (Rom. 15:6).

When we are with one accord, there is the impact; when we have one heart and one way, the Lord has a way to do what He intends to do in us and among us.

There may be many problems in the church life, just as there were many problems in the church in Corinth, but we need to pay attention to the matter of one accord. Our one accord is very important.

Some say they are of this person or that person, and some say they like this ministry or that ministry. The Father on the mountain of transfiguration said, This is My Son, the Beloved. Hear Him (Mark 9:7-8).

We should pay attention only to Christ. Christ is not divided. Christ should be our unique focus.

May we be those who think the same thing (1 Cor. 13:11) and speak the same thing, which is the Christ we love and seek with our heart and who is also our way in our daily living.

Lord Jesus, we love You! We exercise our heart of love to just love You and seek after You. You are the most precious One. We put aside anything else and just contact You in all things and concerning all things. Amen, Lord, we want to have one heart and one way. May we have one heart to love God, seek God, live God, and be constituted with God! Amen, Lord, we seek You and we want to live You so that You may be expressed through us! Oh Lord, we take You as our unique way – the Triune God as the inner law of life with its divine capacity. You are the way. You are our way. We take You, dear Lord, as our way today. We drop our ways and our purposes and we take You as our way. May we have one heart and one way in our Christian life and church life so that we may have the one accord! Amen, Lord, save us from having a heart for something other than Christ! Save us from taking any other way that Christ! You are our way! We love You!

If we would have One Accord, there should be only One Scale in the Church Life

I beseech you therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing one another in love, Being diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace. Eph. 4:1-3One practical aspect of having the one accord is our measuring, the scale we measure others with, that is, we should have only one “scale” in the church life (Deut. 25:13-16).

We may think this is a small point, but this is actually very important, for it affects the way we see one another and we consider one another.

If we would have one accord, there should be only one “scale” in the church life. This is a very practical matter. How do we consider others and do we consider ourselves? How do we evaluate ourselves and how do we evaluate others?

We may have a different way of measuring others than the way we measure ourselves. If we condemn a certain thing in others while justifying the same thing in ourselves indicates that we have different weights and measures.

This means we have different scales – one scale for measuring others and a different scale for measuring ourselves. Oh Lord Jesus!

For example, we may be driving and someone cuts in front of us, and we’re now behind them. But then we do not slow down to let them go forward, but we leave very little space between us. We may think, They deserve this, they asked for it, for they cut in front of us. Oh Lord!

We consider that others do something illegal, so that may justify us to do something bordering what is illegal, simply because the others did that first.

Yes, we are believers in Christ, but how do we measure one another? Do we have a scale with which we measure ourselves, and then a different scale with which we measure others?

When other saints do something that seems to be directed at us, to either deal with us or limit us, do we retaliate at another time, or do we come to the Lord about it? Oh Lord!

There’s something in our natural being which wants to retaliate, pay back, and measure others with a different scale than what we measure ourselves with.

As the Lord said in Matthew 7, we look at the splinter in someone else’s eye and point it out, but we don’t even notice the beam in our own eye. Oh Lord!

The practice of having different scales is the source of discord. However, if we have only one scale, we will keep the oneness and one accord in the church (Eph. 4:1-3; Matt. 7:1-5).

How can we be one if we measure others and criticise them or judge them inwardly, while we use a softer or lower standard when we measure ourselves? To practice the one accord in the church life, we need to have only one scale.

The enemy doesn’t want us to practice the one accord; rather, he is attacking us and he is wearing us out. Today we may love the Lord and be one with Him in what we do, and we may serve Him in many things with zeal and love toward Him.

Do not judge, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged; and with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you. And why do you look at the splinter which is in your brother’s eye, but the beam in your eye you do not consider? Or how can you say to your brother, Let me remove the splinter from your eye, and behold, the beam is in your eye? Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye. Matt. 7:1-5But little by little, year by year, and day by day, the enemy is wearing us out, slowly attacking us and causing our love for the Lord to wear out.

As we see that the enemy attacks us in so many ways, we need to come to the Lord again and again and never measure others nor judge or criticise them, for we are nothing, only the Lord is everything and does everything.

Where we are and what we are is by the Lord’s mercy.

We are not here to give our judgement or opinion on others nor are we here to measure them; we are here before the Lord, asking Him to protect us and cover us.

Instead of measuring others, we need to care for them, pray for them, and pass on to them what the Lord has taught us, so that we together would fulfil God’s purpose.

As we learn to be in the one accord and practice the oneness, may we open to the Lord’s perfecting and inner working so that we do not measure others but rather, care for them in love and minister Christ to them.

Lord Jesus, we want to have the one accord among us in the church life today. May we have only one “scale” in the church life and never measure others or criticise them. Oh Lord, thank You for not measuring us according to Your scale but rather, shepherding us and giving us grace. Save us from condemning a certain thing in others while justifying the same thing in ourselves. Oh Lord, save us from using one scale for measuring others and a different scale for measuring ourselves. We love You, Lord, and thank You for keeping us here, in the church life with all the saints. We want to go on with You and care for one another, even have one heart and one way so that we may shepherd one another in the Lord. Oh Lord Jesus, we give ourselves to You! Gain the one accord among us. We take You as our life, our person, and our everything. We want to learn from You not to measure others but rather care for them in love so that we together would be in one accord for what You are doing today!

In 1 and 2 Corinthians Paul does not use the phrase one accord, but he does stress speaking the same thing. For one person to say that he is of Paul and another to say that he is of Apollos indicates that they are not speaking the same thing. We all have to say, “I am of Christ.” To say “I am of Paul” or “I am of Apollos” is just like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration saying that he would make three tabernacles—one for Moses, one for Elijah, and one for Jesus. Then a voice came out of the cloud that overshadowed them: “This is My Son, the Beloved. Hear Him!” And suddenly, “When they looked around, they no longer saw anyone, but Jesus only with them” (Mark 9:7-8). We all need to speak the same thing. Why should Paul, Apollos, and Cephas be mentioned? This is why Paul asked the Corinthians, “Is Christ divided?” (1 Cor. 1:13). In Paul’s second Epistle to the church in Corinth he also charged them to “think the same thing” (13:11). In his letter to the Philippians Paul likewise charged the saints to think the same thing (2:2; 4:2).

Brother, Our being attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion is the proof we are one in our soul.
Our being in one accord includes one mind, one will, one purpose in one soul, and in one heart. Then, can we outwardly have one mouth under His headship. (Phil.1:27).

The only way to be with one accord and with one mouth is to allow Christ the room to be everything in our heart and in our mouth so that God may be glorified. (Eph.3:17a, 21)

For His own glory and kingdom, may the Lord remove from us all dissenting and different opinions that engenders divisive tendencies rather than oneness in one accord!

The kingdom people, living in a humble spirit under the heavenly ruling of the kingdom, always judge themselves, not others. Matt. 7:1 footnote 2 on, not judge.

Under the heavenly ruling of the kingdom, the kingdom people will be judged with what they judge others. If they judge others with righteousness, they will be judged with righteousness by the Lord; if they judge others with mercy, they will be judged with mercy by the Lord. Mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). Matt. 7:2 footnote 1 with what judgment.
