Today we can be in one accord because we have one, all-inclusive vision – the vision of the age; the vision God gave us in His recovery is an all-inclusive vision, and today we are in one accord speaking the same thing and being the same in practice. Hallelujah!
Thank the Lord that we today have the oneness of the Body of Christ, for we are members in the Body, and the Body is one. In the book of Acts we see a landmark which divides the Gospels and the Acts – it is the prayer in one accord of the one hundred twenty disciples.
We need to realise that the one accord is the master key to every blessing in the New Testament. If we want to enjoy the blessing and receive God’s blessing, we must practice the oneness by the one accord.
The one accord refers to the harmony in our inner being, the harmony in our mind and will. The Greek word is homothumadon, which is a strong and all-inclusive term, for it denotes a harmony of inward feeling on our entire being.
To have the one accord, we need to be in harmony, in accord; it refers to the harmonious sound of musical instruments or voices. When we have the harmony of inward feeling within us and among us, it is like a harmonious melody to the Lord.
We today practice the oneness – the one accord – according to the apostles’ teaching. In Acts 1 we see the one accord among the one hundred twenty disciples, for they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching.
The teaching of the apostles is the holding factor of the one accord. As we are learning practice the one accord, we need to be in one spirit with one soul.
On one hand, we need to be attuned in the same mind and in the same opinion, that is, one in our soul. On the other hand, when we are one in our speaking, for when we’re in one accord in our whole being, we will speak the same thing, even the one thing.
Just as our human body is one and the mouth speaks only what the head decides, in oneness and one accord with the head, so it is in the Body of Christ.
We have one Head, which is Christ, and we are with one accord and with one mouth, for even though we are many and all are speaking, we all speak the same thing. For us to be in one accord, we need to have one heart and one way.
Thank the Lord that He gave us a new heart to seek Him, love Him, and be constituted with God.
Also, He gave us one way, which is the Triune God Himself as our inner law of life with its divine capacity.
Furthermore, for us to have the one accord, we should have only one scale in the church life – not judging one another nor measuring them but caring for one another in love.
The Disciples were in One Accord in Prayer because they saw a Vision of the Crucified, Resurrected, and Ascended Christ
How come the disciples were in one accord and prayed in one accord for ten days, with the result that the Lord poured out the Holy Spirit upon them?
We need to see what are the factors that led to the prayer in one accord and be before the Lord concerning our Christian life and living so that we may also be in one accord and have the Lord’s blessing.
The Lord poured out the Spirit on the one hundred twenty because they continued steadfastly with one accord in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
When the disciples were with the Lord in His earthly ministry, the Lord trained them and discipled them simply by being with them.
Unfortunately, so many times they were not one but rather, they were in discord, some desiring to be on the Lord’s left and right side, while others being jealous. Oh Lord!
As the disciples were with the Lord, they were being discipled by the Lord and they saw a vision of the incarnated Christ. Then, when the Lord went through death and resurrection, they saw a vision of the crucified and resurrected Christ.
They saw the Lord Jesus being crucified at Golgotha (John 19:17-18). Then, they saw that He was buried in a grave, and they were disappointed and sad. however, they saw the vision of Christ as the resurrected One.
On the morning of His resurrection, they heard reports of Christ being risen and showing Himself to some of the sisters and to Mary the Magdalene (20:17).
Then, in the evening of His resurrection, He came to His disciples to reveal Himself to them as the resurrected Christ (v. 19).
What happened to the disciples is that they were being trained and discipled by the Lord, and they were constantly under the vision of the incarnated, crucified, and resurrected Christ.
Then, after the Lord’s resurrection, He spent time with them, appearing and disappearing before them, and they were under the constant seeing of the vision of the resurrected Christ.
Before His public ascension, the Lord Jesus in resurrection charged the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-8), telling them that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they will be His witnesses both in Jerusalem and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Then, the disciples saw the Lord ascending into heaven before them, from Mount Olivet (vv. 9-11). They saw a vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ.
After seeing such a vision, they returned to Jerusalem, went to the upper room, and continued steadfastly with one accord in prayer (vv. 12-14).
They risked everything to be there, but they were under the heavenly vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ. What strengthened them to give up their country, career, future, home, and relatives is the vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ.
They could leave everything and everyone else aside to simply pray with one accord for ten days because they were under the seeing of such a vision of such a Christ.
When we see a fresh vision of the all-inclusive Christ in His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, we will also be motivated and strengthened to give up everything and simply pray in one accord.
For us to work in one accord, we need to see the vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ and be fully delivered from the self and the world.
Lord Jesus, unveil us to see a vision of the all-inclusive Christ. Grant us to see the heavenly vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ. Amen, Lord, we open to You. We come to You as we are. We give ourselves to You today. May we see the vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ. May such a vision deliver us from ourselves, from the world, and from anything else. May we see a vision that captivates us and governs us in our daily life so that we may live and work in one accord! Amen, Lord Jesus, save us from being preoccupied with our own situation, future, and goal. May we pay the price to be in one accord with the saints in our prayer. Oh Lord, only a vision of the crucified, resurrected, and ascended Christ can cause us to be fully delivered from the self and the world and cause us to be in one accord! Grant us to see the heavenly vision, the vision of the age! May the heavenly vision strengthen us to give up everything else and just focus on Christ and the church!
Today we can Be in One Accord because we have One, All-inclusive Vision – The Vision of the Age
Today in the church life in the Lord’s recovery we can be in one accord because we have one, all-inclusive vision, which is the vision of the age (Prov. 29:18; Acts 26:19). What a blessing it is for us to have the vision of the age, the all-inclusive vision!
Many believers in Christ today love the Lord and serve Him, but each one has his own vision; as a result, there is no way to have the one accord.
Even in the church life, it is possible for some to be in the church life and labour for the Lord, being very much involved in the service of the church, yet not be governed by the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age.
Worse yet, some saints may think that now they have a higher vision, something higher than others, and they think they are more advanced than the rest of the saints. Oh Lord!
They may even write it in a book or online, stating audacious things which they say the Lord has revealed to them. May the Lord save us from having any vision different from the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age!
May the Lord attune us in the same mind and opinion, and may we remain under the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, continuing steadfastly in these things.
The enemy is subtle in his attacks; he attacks even by means of spiritual matters, by introducing a “higher vision” or a “different vision” than what the ministry lays out.
As long as we have different visions on a minor point, we cannot have the one accord (Phil. 3:15).
This doesn’t mean that we need to agree on everything but that we need to remain under the seeing of the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age.
We need to be governed by the same vision in a thorough way.
Thank the Lord that the vision He has given us in His recovery is an all-inclusive vision – the ultimate consummation of all the visions in the Bible (Rev. 21:2, 10-11).
How blessed we are to have received the vision of the age! It’s just the fact that, through the ministry of the age, He has recovered all the major points of truth in the Bible, and we have an all-encompassing vision including everything from God’s creation to the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth.
If we today would be open to the Lord and mean business with Him, we would receive the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age. For the Lord’s up-to-date move, all the churches need to be in one accord.
We all should voice the same thing, trumpet the same thing, teach the same thing, and be the same in practice (Josh. 1:16-18; 6:1-16; Acts 2:42; 4:24, 32; 1 Cor. 4:17; 7:17; 11:16; 14:33b-34; 1 Tim. 1:3-4; 6:3). Amen!
We need to choose to be vital and living in the Lord. We may hear a lot about the vital groups and we may have many messages in the books of the ministry concerning being vital.
But unless we give ourselves to the Lord to practice the vital groups, we cannot be vitalised. For us to be vital is for us to be living and full of spiritual activity.
If we all are vitalised, we will have a bright future in the Lord’s recovery. Today we are in the Lord’s up-to-date move, being under the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age, and we are learning to be vitalised.
May we give ourselves to the Lord so that His move on the earth would have an impact by our being in one accord. We may labour much but with not a lot of result, and we may work so much without much increase.
The Lord wants to gain Gideon and his three hundred men today (Judg. 7:3-7), those who are not part of a movement or join the army because of excitement but the few who are in one accord for the Lord’s move.
The Lord is sounding the trumpet in the church life in the Lord’s recovery, and we follow the Lord by praying in one accord so that He may have a way to move.
May we be willing to be brought back to the one accord to fight the battle in the Body for the Lord to have a way today. The Lord is calling us, and we follow Him.
He is calling those who are willing to be brought back to the one accord so that He may bless the prayer in one accord for His move.
Lord Jesus, we love You and we want to come back to the one accord! We are willing to be brought back to the one accord to fight the battle. Amen, Lord, thank You for granting us the all-inclusive vision, the vision of the age. May a clear, controlling vision of Your economy direct our heart and strengthen us to be in one accord. Amen, Lord, we need the recovery of the one accord among us so that You may have an impact in our Christian life and work! Save us from having different visions than the central vision of God’s eternal economy. Save us from having our own vision which is different from the all-inclusive vision! Oh Lord, we love You and we give ourselves to You today! Grant us to be the few who are willing to be brought back to the one accord in the church life today! Have Your way in our being and have Your way among us in the church life today. Gain what You are after in us and have a way to move in an unhindered way in us and through us as we practice the one accord!

In ch. 6 the members of our body are to be presented as weapons of righteousness (6:13) for warfare and service. In this chapter, however, our bodies are to be presented as a living sacrifice for the church life.
In Greek, bodies here is plural and sacrifice is singular. This indicates that, although many bodies are presented, they become one sacrifice, implying that, although we are many, our service in the Body of Christ should not be many individual services, separated and unrelated. All our service should constitute one whole service, and this service must be unique because it is the service of the one Body of Chris. (footnote on Romans 12:1)
The one hundred twenty disciples were able to persevere in prayer because
Like them, we, His disciples today, need to be strengthened by this vision to give up our country, career, future, be delivered from self and the world for God’s goal!
The Lord is calling His dear saints, the ones who would be willing to be brought back in one accord to this all-inclusive vision of the age for His unique purpose. Lord, find such ones in us!
Amen
