are you living in the divine history or merely in the human history?

are you living in the divine history or merely in the human history? As believers in Christ and disciples of Jesus, we have been born in the human history through our parents but we have been reborn in the divine history through our regeneration!

When we believed into the Lord Jesus, we were re-born, born again, regenerated, into a new creation – we were born into the divine history!

This divine history is the history of God in man – it started from Christ’s incarnation and continued with His human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, then as the life-giving Spirit He came into us to continue the divine history in His indwelling us!

Now we are the continuation of the divine history in humanity by experiencing God’s organic salvation through regeneration, sanctification, renewing, transformation, conformation, and glorification (see Rom. 5:10; Eph. 5:27).

The consummation of the divine history is man being fully processed and transformed to become the Bride of Christ which marries Christ as the Spirit (the processed and consummated Triune God) to live a marriage life in a sweet organic union for eternity (see Rev. 19:7-9; 22:17).

Hallelujah, what a glorious destiny we have in the divine history!

Are You Living Merely In the Human History?

Seeing that there is a mysterious yet intrinsic divine history into which we were grafted and reborn, we need to ask ourselves today,

Are we living merely in the human history, or do we live in the divine history within the human history?

If we live just like the rest of the ones around us, living in the world and enjoying life in general, we live in the human history outwardly. But if we are living in the church, living a daily church life, enjoying the Lord with the saints, we are living in the divine history.

In the church life God’s history is our history – as the church, we inherit and enjoy God’s history as our history by virtue of being organically joined to Him.

Now we, the believers in Christ, have one history with God – two parties (we and God) have ONE history, the divine history!

A New Spirit and A New Heart

In the divine history we have a new spirit and a new heart (Ezek. 36:26) – here everything is new! We are a new creation in Christ – everything that is old has passed away; behold, it has become new! I love this short paragraph from the life-study of Joel, page 36 (by brother Lee),

With the divine history there is the new creation – the new man with a new heart, a new spirit, a new life, a new nature, a new history, and a new consummation. We praise the Lord that we are in the divine history, experiencing and enjoying the mysterious divine things.

We daily need to keep our heart to be new by continually turning our heart to the Lord (2 Cor. 3:16).

Whenever our heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away and we see the Lord face to face. This seeing of the Lord causes us to be transformed into the same image as He is, from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18).

We also need to maintain our heart in newness by maintaining our purity. Seek purity – our only goal, our only aim, is Christ Himself. Nothing else and no one else but Christ. This will keep us in newness and purity.

Being Renewed and Victorious by Pray-Reading

A very practical and simple way to be renewed and maintain ourselves in the divine history is by pray-reading the Word of God.

On the one hand, when we pray over the Word of God we are washed, cleansed, purified, and beautified to become the spotless Bride of Christ, with no spots and wrinkles or any such things (Eph. 5:26-27).

On the other hand, when we pray-read the Word of God, the enemy in the air is defeated and the adversary within us is killed (Eph. 6:17-18). The real battlefield is not outside of us but inside of us today, especially in our mind!

The way to deal with God’s enemy, the source of oldness and impurity and of every negative thing, is to take the Word of God into us (the sword of the Spirit) by means of all prayer and petition.

We need to learn to pray the Word, pray over the Word, pray-read the Word, and petition with the Word, so that the enemy in the air may be defeated and the adversary in us would be killed!

This is such a simple way yet with so many rich implications: we pray-read the Word by exercising our spirit to pray the Word of God, and we feast on the Lord, we defeat the enemy, and the adversary is killed.

We are both beautified to be the Bride of Christ and we are victorious over the enemy!

Lord Jesus, keep us living in the divine history within the human history today. Save us from merely living in the outward human history. Keep our heart turned to You, Lord, and keep turning us from anything else unto You. Lord, remove any veil from our face, and keep our heart pure, loving only You. Strengthen our pray-reading of the Word, our praying with the Word of God, that we may be beautified and also made victorious over the enemy! Keep us in the divine history today!
