Christ Poured His Blood for Forgiveness of Sins and for Enacting the New Covenant

The blood of Jesus was poured out for forgiveness of sins and for enacting of the new covenant. The Lord Jesus as the reality of the trespass offering poured out His blood for the forgiveness of sins and for the enacting of the new covenant.

God’s righteous requirements were satisfied by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, and His precious blood was shed, even poured out, for the forgiveness of sins and for enacting the new covenant in His blood.

There are so many wonderful things that Christ accomplished through His death on the cross, and we can experience these things by faith through prayer. He made propitiation for our sins and even became our propitiation, the sacrifice that appeased God and made Him happy with us again.

Through His freshly shed blood we can come forward to God to enjoy God and partake of God in an atmosphere of peace and enjoyment.

Although Christ was crucified for our sins, He gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us out of the present evil age (Gal. 1:4). We were not only dead in sins and offenses, but we were lying in the world, the system of Satan that kept us away from God.

Even today, after being regenerated, we may still be caught in so many things of the world that are used by Satan to usurp us and keep us away from God and His purpose.

Each age, each decade, has a particular aspect, a modern appearance, of the system of Satan, and it is used by Satan to keep people away from God and keep them busy with the things in the world.

How can we escape the corruption and usurpation that is in the world? How can we escape and be rescued from the system used by Satan in the world to usurp us and keep us away from God? It is not by “fighting the system” or merely by “standing strong”, but by experiencing Christ in His death.

We are dead to the world and the world is dead to us, for in Christ we died to the world so that we may live to God. Christ offered Himself for our sins so that He may rescue us out of the present evil age, and this is a process that continues even after our regeneration.

Our sins are devilish, and the present evil age is satanic. Apart from the crucifixion of Christ we have no way to deal with sins, behind which the devil hides, or the world, behind which Satan hides.

For us to be delivered from the present evil age, our sins must be dealt with by the death of Christ.

In particular, the present evil age refers not only to the outward world as a system conceived by Satan to usurp us, but the present religious system in Christianity.

We may think that Christianity is based on the Bible and many people in Christianity are seeking the Lord from their heart, but actually Christianity as a system is used by Satan to distract people from God and His purpose, and it keeps them away from God’s economy and the building up of the Body of Christ.

Christ died to rescue His people from the present evil age, which in the days of Paul was the Jewish religion, and today is the religious course of this world, Christianity today.

May we come to the Lord and believe into Him, enjoy Him, and experience Him in His death so that we may be rescued from anything of today’s present evil age, and be fully brought into the enjoyment of Christ!

Today we want to see how the Lord on the cross enacted the new covenant in His blood, and how His blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins.

The Lord Jesus Poured out His Blood on the Cross for the Forgiveness of Sins

Matt. 26:28 For this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. The Lord Jesus died on the cross for us and He poured out His blood for the forgiveness of sins (Matt. 26:28). Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins (Heb. 9:22), and without forgiveness of sins there is no way for the requirement of God’s righteousness to be fulfilled that the covenant may be enacted.

But Christ’s blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins, and the covenant was enacted with His blood (Matt. 26:28). The blood of the Lord Jesus has made a complete redemption for us, and this blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.

The blood of Christ was shed on the cross to redeem us from our fallen condition back to God and back to God’s blessing.

He was crucified for us, and He had five bleeding wounds – four on His hands and feet, and on in His side. The wounds in His hands and feet were inflicted by man who was persecuting Him and putting Him to death, but the wound in His side was for our redemption.

The Lord was not coerced to go to the cross, neither was He forced to shed His blood. Rather, even before He was crucified, while He was with His disciples, He blessed the cup and said that this cup is a type of His blood which He pours out for the forgiveness of sins.

It seemed that it was the Roman soldiers who inflicted these wounds on Him and caused Him to bleed on the cross, but actually Christ offered Himself and poured out His blood for the forgiveness of our sins, for our redemption.

The blood of the Lord Jesus has made a full and complete redemption for us so that, once we believe into Him and confess our sins, all our sins may be forgiven.

His blood was like the blood of a Lamb without spot or blemish, and His perfect blood satisfied God’s righteousness and redeemed us from our fallen condition back to God and His blessing.

1 John 1:7, 9 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin....If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.Christ died on the cross as the trespass offering and He poured out His blood so that the believers’ sins may be forgiven.

Now whenever we walk in the light, He exposes us of our sins, we confess our sins, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from every sin (1 John 1:7).

We simply need to come in the Lord’s light and let Him shine on us, and as we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sins, and God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

What a wonderful application of Christ as our trespass offering to our daily living!

He shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins, and we can apply His blood every day, even every moment, by turning to the Lord, coming into the light, and walking in the light.

As we walk in the light, we are cleansed and washed, and we are forgiven of our sins. God is faithful in His word and righteous in the blood of Jesus to cleanse us of our sins and forgive us, and this restores our fellowship with the Lord, bringing in more light, more life, more fellowship and more cleansing of the Lord’s blood.

Thank You Lord for shedding Your blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Your sacrifice on the cross satisfied God’s righteous requirements, and Your shed blood cleanses us from every sin. Thank You Lord for making a complete redemption for us so that all our sins may be forgiven. You redeemed us from our fallen condition back to God and to His blessing. May we walk in the light today and agree with whatever You expose in the light, and may we confess our sins so that the blood of Jesus Christ may cleanse us from any sin! Thank You Lord for shedding Your blood for the forgiveness of sins!

The Lord Jesus Enacted the New Covenant in His Blood shed on the Cross

When the Lord was taking His last supper with His disciples, He lifted the cup and said, This is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins (Matt. 26:28).

On one hand the blood of Christ is for the forgiveness of sins, and on the other, Christ enacted the new covenant in His blood on the cross.

On one hand the blood of Christ cleanses us and washes us from every sin, and it brings us into God’s forgiveness; on the other hand, this blood has enacted the new covenant, and now we as God’s people can enjoy all that God has bequeathed to us.

The Lord’s blood, having satisfied God’s righteousness, enacted the new covenant. In this new covenant God gives us forgiveness, life, salvation, and all spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings. When this new covenant is given to us, it is a cup (Luke 22:20), a portion for us. The Lord shed His blood, God established the covenant, and we enjoy the cup, in which God and all that is of Him are our portion. The blood is the price that Christ paid for us, the covenant is the title-deed that God made for us, and the cup is the portion that we receive from God. (Matt. 26:28, footnote 2 on, covenant, Recovery Version Bible)

Luke 22:20 And similarly the cup after they had dined, saying, This cup is the new covenant established in My blood, which is being poured out for you. After the Lord dined with His disciples He told them that the cup is the new covenant established in His blood, which is being poured out for us (Luke 22:20).

On one hand the cup is the blood of Christ that enacted the new covenant, and on the other hand, this cup itself is the new covenant, and in this cup God is everything to us as our portion.

When we drink the cup at the Lord’s table meeting we need to realize that, being cleansed in the Lord’s blood, we can partake of all that God is.

God has promised us everything He is, including His salvation, redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation, transformation, and all the spiritual blessings – all are in the cup of blessing which we drink.

Christ poured out His blood on the cross to enact the new covenant, a spiritual covenant in which we receive and enjoy all that God is simply by drinking of the cup of blessing. Hallelujah!

This new covenant was promised and prophesied in the Old Testament, but it was enacted by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross; now we are the beneficiaries of the new covenant, and we can enjoy all that God has promised to us.

The blood of Christ has satisfied all the requirements of God’s righteousness and enacted the new covenant to give us forgiveness of sins, salvation in life, and many spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings. We can truly praise the Lord and thank Him saying,

Thank You Lord for enacting the new covenant through Your blood shed on the cross. Your blood has satisfied God’s righteousness and enacted the new covenant, and now we can enjoy all that God is together with all the spiritual blessings simply by drinking of the cup of blessing. Hallelujah, in the new covenant we enjoy God’s forgiveness, His life, His salvation, and all the spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings in Christ. Lord, we treasure Your blood, the precious blood that was poured out on the cross to enact the new covenant!

Doamne, lasa gloria Ta sa fie cu noi! Da la oparte voalurile de pe ochii nostri, si lasa-ne sa vedem pe Fiul Tau in slava, si ce mantuire desavarsita ai infaptuit pentru noi!

[Lord, may Your glory be with us! Remove the veils from our eyes and let us see Your Son in glory, and see what a perfect salvation You have obtained for us!]

In the Old Covenant the blood was animal blood sprinkled on items which typified the New Covenant things and persons, such as vessels, utensils and even Aaron and his sons. The New Covenant is IN His Blood, implying that the New Covenant realities are connected to being members of His Body, for all my members are, in a real sense, in my blood.

I am so thankful for His blood. It is so sweet that the first thing we do in the morning is tell Him that we love Him and then we immediately apply His blood to our being. How sweet to take a “shower” in the blood of Jesus… sorry, this is just my personal enjoyment. The washing in the blood is what gives us access to come forward to God. Without daily washing we have no right to come to the Father. I really LOVE the Blood of Jesus. Such an amazing blessing given to all believers. Blood that is available to be applied to our situation throughout our days! Hallelujah! There is no reason that a believer should ever go without being covered in Jesus’ precious blood!!!!!

Amen! Matthew 26:28 ” For this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.” The Lord Jesus poured out His blood not for the suffering of persecution but for the accomplishing of redemption. Apparently the soldiers poured His blood by the piercing of His side; they took the initiative to pierce the Lord’s side. But the pouring out of Christ blood was the Lord’s work for redemption. Praise the Lord! What a mystery!

In Matthew 26:28 the Lord Jesus says, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.” The Lord’s blood was required by God’s righteousness for the forgiveness of our sins. Without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin (Heb. 9:22). Without forgiveness of sin there is no way to fulfill the requirement of God’s righteousness so that the new covenant may be enacted. But Christ’s blood was poured out for the forgiveness of sins, and the new covenant has been enacted with His blood. The blood of the Lord Jesus has made a complete redemption for us so that all our sins may be forgiven. His blood has redeemed us from our fallen condition back to God and to God’s full blessing. The Lord’s blood, having satisfied God’s righteousness, enacted the new covenant. In this new covenant God gives us forgiveness, life, salvation, and all spiritual, heavenly, and divine blessings.
