God Blesses us by Keeping us in the Dispensing Triune God and Away from the Evil One

Num. 6:24 Jehovah bless you and keep you.

The first aspect of the Triune God’s blessing as seen in Num. 6 is the Father blessing us and keeping us; the Father keeps us in the dispensing Triune God and outside of the evil one – what a blessing this is! Amen!

This blessing in Num. 6:2-27 is the pattern of blessing by the priests, and it is neither an Old Testament blessing nor a New Testament blessing but rather it is the eternal blessing of the Triune God! Amen!

The eternal blessing of the Triune God is nothing else but the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment. In Num. 5 we see the dealing with defilement, dealing with suspicion (the jealousy of God), and then the Nazarite vow – all these have something to do with the formation of God’s army.

After the law of the Nazarite was given, we come to the matter of the blessing of God. The blessing of the Triune God has to do with our warfare, with our fighting for God’s interest.

How can we fight and be the army of God without God’s blessing?

In Psa. 44:3 it clearly says that the people of Israel didn’t possess the land by their sword nor did their arm save them, but it was Jehovah’s right arm and the light of His countenance.

It is not by our strength or ability that we can take the land or defeat the enemies, but it is by God’s strength and by the light of His countenance.

Jehovah said to Moses, My presence shall go with you and I will give you rest; and Moses replied, If Your presence does not go with us, don’t bring us there. God’s presence is His blessing, it is the face of God, the countenance of God.

We need to be under this blessing for us to be the army of God fighting for His interest.

And this particular blessing in Num. 6 is not an Old Testament blessing for the people of Israel in the Old Testament, neither is it merely a New Testament blessing for the believers today, but it is an eternal blessing, for the Triune God wants to bless us continually and eternally with Himself by dispensing all that He is into us as blessing.

God wants to give all that He is to us for our enjoyment, and for this He puts us into the right position where He can bless us, and then He dispenses Himself into us.

And as we will see later, the Father keeps us in the divine dispensing, and He keeps us away from the evil one, so that we may enjoy the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity for our enjoyment. Hallelujah!

The Father Blesses us in His Love and He Keeps us from the Evil one in His Name

John 17:15 I do not ask that You would take them out of the world, but that You would keep them out of the hands of the evil one.“Jehovah bless you and keep you” (Num. 6:24) can be ascribed to God the Father, who blesses us in every way and in every aspect in His love, and He keeps us in every way and in every aspect in His power.

God the Father blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:3). God blesses us not in an objective way by giving us things but by giving Himself to us in His Trinity, step by step and little by little.

The blessing we receive from God are not things or feelings but the Triune God Himself being dispensed into us in His Divine Trinity for our enjoyment. Our Triune God is our blessing.

The Father blesses us in every way and in every aspect in His love according to which He chose us (Eph. 1:3), and He also keeps us in every way and in every aspect in His power (see John 17:11, 15).

The Lord Jesus prayed to the Father to keep us; He asked the Father not to take us out of the world but to keep us from the evil one.

This word, Keep, is of crucial importance. We are kept in the Father’s name; this name is the highest name, denoting the person of the Father, and we are kept in this name – here we are safeguarded and protected from the evil one.

How does the Father keep us in His power from the evil one? We have a glimpse into this in Eph. 1 where we see that, in eternity past, the Father has chosen us even before the foundation of the world that we would be holy and without blemish before Him in love.

He also predestinated us unto sonship in Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. Is there anything more solid and unchanging than God’s eternal selection and predestination? We should feel safe in His selection and predestination.

Though we as believers in Christ are in the world, yet we are not of the world, and the holy Father keeps us in His name from the evil one.

The blessing One keeps us. In Numbers 6:24 the word keep is of crucial importance. In John 17:11 the Lord Jesus prayed that the Father would keep us in His name. This is to keep us in the dispensing Triune God. While the Triune God is dispensing Himself into us, we are kept in the dispensing One. In John 17:15 the Lord Jesus went on to pray that the Father would keep us from the evil one. When we are kept in the dispensing Triune God, there is nothing left for the hand of the enemy. We should pray for the blessing of being kept absolutely in the dispensing Triune God and altogether outside of the evil one. What a blessing this is! Witness Lee, Life-study of Numbers, p. 80To be kept in the Father’s name is to be kept by His life, for only those who are born of the Father and have the Father’s life can participate in the Father’s name.

Praise the Lord, the Son has given us the Father’s life, for we have been given to the Son (John 17:2), and now we share the Father’s name by being kept in it, and we are even one in this name!

On one hand we are kept from the evil one in the Father’s name, and on the other hand, we are being made one in this name!

We as believers in Christ, born of the Father’s life, enjoy the Father’s name as the factor of our protection and oneness.

The whole world lies in the evil one (1 John 5:19), so we need to be kept out of the hands of the evil one, and we need to always be watchful in prayer so that we may be delivered from the evil one (Matt. 6:13). Hallelujah!

The Father Himself keeps us in His name from the evil one, and He blesses us with Himself, with His divine dispensing – and this is all for the building up of His house, the church!

Thank You Father for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah, we are blessed with all that the Triune God has and is! Thank You Father for blessing us in every way and in every aspect in Your love. Keep us, Father, in Your name. Keep us from the evil one. Even as we are in the world, Lord, we are not of the world; we belong to You, we have the divine life, and we need Your keeping power! Father, keep us in Your name and make us one in Your name for the building up of Your house, the church!

God Blesses us by Keeping us in the Dispensing Triune God and Away from the Evil One

John 17:11 I am no longer in the world; yet they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given to Me, that they may be one even as We are. We all should pray for the blessing of being kept absolutely in the dispensing Triune God and altogether outside of the evil one; what a blessing this is! Amen!

In Num. 6:24 we see that the first aspect of God’s blessing is His blessing us and keeping us; this means that the blessing One is also the keeping One, and these two are related.

The Father keeps us not only from the evil one’s attacks and schemes, but He keeps us in the divine dispensing of the Triune God.

For the Father to keep us is to keep us in His name, in His very person, for Him to dispense all that He is into us. While the Triune God is dispensing Himself into us, we are kept in the dispensing One, and in us the evil one has nothing – no ground, no possibility in anything!

We need to pray to be kept by the Father in His divine dispensing, and as He keeps us under His dispensing, we are spontaneously kept from the evil one. When we are kept in the dispensing Triune God, there’s nothing left for the hand of the enemy. Hallelujah!

If we really see this, if we see the blessing of being kept in the dispensing of the Triune God and thus away from the evil one, we will no longer pray for outward blessings or prosperity and pray for this!

We should all pray for the blessing of being kept absolutely in the dispensing Triune God and altogether outside of the evil one!

As we live in the world, we realise that the whole world lies in the evil one, being under his sphere of influence; the world lies dormant under the operation of the evil one, and we live in this world but are not of this world.

As we live in the world, we need to be kept by the Father to be one with Him and His believers even as the Divine Trinity is one, that is, that we would be one in the Divine Trinity.

To be kept in the Father’s name is to be kept by His life, because only those who are born of the Father and have the Father’s life can participate in the Father’s name. The Son has given the Father’s life to those whom the Father has given Him (John 17:2); hence, they share the Father’s name by being kept in it, and they are one in it. The first aspect of this oneness, that is, the first aspect of the building up of the believers, is the oneness in the Father’s name and by His divine life. In this aspect of oneness the believers, born of the Father’s life, enjoy the Father’s name, that is, the Father Himself, as the factor of their oneness. John 17:11, footnote 2, RcV BibleThe Lord Jesus prayed for us to be kept in the Father’s name and by His power; we also need to echo the Lord’s prayer and pray for this.

We can be kept in the Father’s name in the dispensing Triune God and away from the evil one because we have the divine life in our spirit and therefore we can participate in the Father’s name.

Hallelujah, we are born of God – we were given the authority to become children of God, born of God, and we now can be kept in the name of the Father to be in the dispensing Triune God and away from the evil one!

When the Father keeps us in His name, we are kept in the dispensing of the Triune God, and we will no longer act or live in our own person but live, act, and work in the person of the Father for the building up of the church.

We should not be presumptuous, thinking we can keep ourselves and we are strong enough to withstand the enemy in ourselves; rather, we should humble ourselves, echo the Lord’s prayer in John 17, and ask the Father to keep us in the dispensing Triune God and away from the evil one.

Father, keep us in the dispensing Triune God and away from the evil one! We pray for the blessing of being kept absolutely in the dispensing of the Triune God and altogether outside of the evil one! Oh Father, it is only in Your name, Your very person, that we are kept, safeguarded, and protected; keep us in Your name and by Your power away from the evil one. Keep us under Your divine dispensing until there’s nothing in us for the evil one, and we are fully outside of the evil one! Amen, Father, bless us and keep us!
