I need to practically put the Lord first – and He will care for my needs! (a student’s testimony)

In this year, the most eye-opening and simple revelation that the Lord has shown me is that I need to place Him first. It is easy to say and even easier to just take it in as “a piece of advice that could be handy“. However, actually putting this word into play has much more effect than you might think. It is easy to say how busy you are, how you do not have enough time to read the Bible or talk to the Lord. But, take a step back. Look at the big picture. Within the 24 hours of each day, perhaps 10 hours goes into sleeping but there are still 14 hours left. I don’t believe that each and every second of the day is occupied. It is very unlikely that we are diligent to the point where we don’t even eat, drink or sleep. During our eating and drinking of physical food/drink, we are free! Times like these are enough for the Lord. While we eat, we could read the Word. When we take breaks from our study, instead of doing something that could lead us astray for hours, we could read a life-study. In my own experience, reading a life-study message either before my studying or during breaks has helped a lot. Afterwards, I have a clear mind and can study with the Lord. That is me putting the Lord first.

Matthew 6:32-33 – For all these things the Gentiles are anxiously seeking. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The Lord knows all things. He knows we need to study, He knows we want this or that. However, if we place Him first, not only will He take care of our needs but also add unto us even more. Isn’t this what we want? To be satisfied with the real satisfaction?

I have also come to realise that I really do need the saints; and not only the saints in my locality but from different members of the Body elsewhere! Staying in the fellowship is what keeps me going. Each member has a function, therefore each member can take care of my different needs! Thank You Lord, now I see! 1. Really enjoyed this. 🙂 Thanks Faith. 😀

  2. Recently I heard a testimony of a young brother who said something very similar – though he had so many problems and things to care for, wherever he would go for help to the saints the response would be the same, Just Enjoy The Lord, Brother! Eventually, he did just enjoy the Lord – even in the face of all his problems – and somehow the problems got solved one by one! This doesn't mean that we shouldn't do anything and just do nothing… but it means that we do what Matt. 6:33 says – we seek first God's kingdom! We seek God first, enjoy Him first, and then the other things "fall into place" and "get solved"!
