in Luke 15 we see the Son’s tender care, the Spirit’s fine seeking, and the Father’s warm receiving

This morning I enjoyed afresh the fact that in Luke 15, Eph. 2:18, and Psa. 36:8 there is a clear sequence of the Triune God working in His Divine Trinity in man, and this sequence is according to God’s salvation! In God’s salvation, first of all, the Son came to redeem us and pay the price to bring us back to God.

Christ’s redemption is the base of our salvation, and without His redemption we cannot be related to God in any way. Based on Christ’s redemption, the Spirit seeks us, searches within us, lights the lamp of the Word of God in us, and sweeps in us. Wherever we are, in our situations, the Spirit sweeps in us, shines on the Word of God, and searches us within.

Based on the Son’s redemption and as a result of the Spirit’s searching and finding us, we return to the Father – who has chosen us from the beginning unto salvation (2 Thes. 2:13) and who is waiting for us to lovingly receive us in His arms! The whole Triune God in His Divine Trinity works in the divine economy as the redeeming Son, the sanctifying Spirit, and the receiving Father, to bring man back to God that man may enjoy God!

We are being brought back to God the Father through Christ the Son and in God the Spirit!

In Luke 15 there are the three parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son – which actually speak of the good Shepherd, the woman’s fine seeking, and the Father’s warm receiving.

The prodigal son came to his senses because the Spirit as the sweeping woman was operating in him to wake him up, shine on him, and search within him. The Son was seeking for the prodigal son as the lost sheep, the Spirit was operating within the prodigal son as the sweeping Spirit, and the Father was eager to receive and lovingly embrace the returning son.

The divine love is fully expressed in the Son’s tender care as the good Shepherd, in the Spirit’s fine seeking as the treasure lover, and in the Father’s warm receiving as the loving father.

Wherever we are, whatever we do, in whichever condition we may be – even after being initially saved, the Triune God still seeks for us, searches within us, lights the lamp of the Word in us, and helps us come to our senses and realize that in the Father’s house there’s plenty of food, drink, happiness, joy….

As we stand up from our condition and situation, actually the Son as the good Shepherd puts us on His shoulders to bring us back to the flock! In all our life, the divine Trinity is operating together and working on us to bring us into the enjoyment of the Triune God!

So wonderful! So good to see that based on Christ’s redemption we now can come in one Spirit to have access unto the Father! This term, The Father – is so endearing, so sweet, so dear… we are brought back to God, our Dad!

He is loving, caring, tender, and warmly receiving us! This is what the Father delights in and what He desires – to work within and without all His lost sheep / coins / the prodigal sons, so that we would return to Him and come into the enjoyment of our rich Triune God! What kind of love is this! What a saving love!

[enjoyment from the life-study of Luke (msg. 34), as quoted in the Holy Word for Morning Revival on, The Central Line of the Bible; intro via, What Kind of Love is This!?!]

We just love You, dear Triune God! Thank You Father for Your love towards us! Thank You Son for Your redemption and Your tender care as the Shepherd! Thank You Holy Spirit for Your continual seeking, searching, enlightening, sweeping, and sanctifying! Keep operating in us, o, Triune God! Keep bringing us out of anything else apart from You – out of any situation where we don’t have You – into the Triune God! Even make us who cooperate with You to bring others into God!

I was always wondering WHY is there first the Son, then the Spirit, and then the Father mentioned in Luke 15, when in Matt. 28:19 we see the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. It is clear now: the sequence is according to EXPERIENCE here, and the emphasis is on the divine love expressed through and by the Triune God! I can't help but LOVE HIM – wherever I am, He reaches out to me and saves me lovingly….
