The Key to Experiencing Christ is our mingled spirit, and the best way to enjoy Him is to call on His name

The Key to Experiencing Christ is our mingled spirit, and the best way to enjoy Him is to call on His nameHow can we experience Christ? How can we contact God? God today is not only in the heavens, sitting on the throne, and He is not just ruling and reigning over everything – He is now as personal to us as being in our mingled spirit! When we received the Lord Jesus into us by calling on His name, repenting, and accepting Him into our heart, He came into us as the Spirit.

Now we are joined to the Lord as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17) – our spirit has become the mingled spirit! God the Spirit has mingled Himself with our spirit! So today He is right inside of us, so near, so approachable, and so touchable! All we need to do is to turn to our mingled spirit and enjoy Him! This is the key to experiencing Christ – our mingled spirit!

It is a great thing to see and appreciate our mingled spirit. We are not made just of a body (the outward fleshly frame of our being, which everyone can see and hear as being us manifested) and a soul (our mind, our thinking, our will, our desires, our emotions, our likes and dislikes, etc) – but we also have a spirit!

When God created man from the dust of the ground, He breathed into man the breath of life (Gen. 2:7), and man became a living soul! There is something in man, something from God, that can receive God, can contact God, can understand/apprehend God – something as the quote says, “God put eternity into man’s heart”.

And this spirit in man is the lamp of Jehovah (Prov. 20:27), discerning and seeing what the things of God are and what the deeper things of man are. The spirit is the deeper part in man, the part where only God can get in, that is made by God for God to enter.

On the other hand, God is Spirit (John 4:24), and we who want to worship Him should worship Him in spirit and truthfulness. In the same story in the Bible we see that the way to worship God is actually to drink Him as the Spirit with our human spirit! This is God’s way for us to contact Him, enjoy Him, and experience Him – by the exercise of our spirit!

The most simple way and the best way for us to exercise our spirit is to simply call on the name of the Lord! As believers in Christ, we are those who call upon His name in every place – we are those who are freshly saved by calling on the name of the Lord (Acts 2:21)!

Just like the early believers, this should be our distinctive characteristic and our continual daily and even moment-by-moment practice: calling on the name of the Lord. O, Lord Jesus! – just as when you call a real person by name, that person comes to you (so “you have the person of that name”), so when you call on the name of the Lord, He comes to you and is real to you!

The best way and the most simple and refreshing way for us to contact the Lord and experience Him daily is to call on His name. This is the joyful way to drink from the water of God’s salvation, and the most enjoyable way to delight ourselves in God. Thus we, as God’s people, should daily call on Him – this should be our practice of breathing Him in and praying unceasingly! How can we pray all the time?

By calling on the name of the Lord unceasingly. Call His name out loud, or call on His name in your heart / by whispering His name…. – no rules how to, just do it! Get saved by calling on the Lord’s name (Rom. 10:12)!

Lord, may we be those who know our mingled spirit and experience You daily! Make us those who are not ashamed or afraid to call on You in any place / any situation! Keep us calling on your name so that we may be saved daily! O, Lord Jesus!
