Many believers and unbelievers alike want to live a perfect life, even “an angel life”, a virtuous life, and they do their best to improve themselves, perfect their living, abstain from certain things, refrain from saying things, etc… Because we fail so many times in doing this, we may ask for the Lord’s help to improve our living, our behavior, and if we succeed, we become proud and selfish about it. O, Lord Jesus, this is such an ensaring matter! It is in our nature as human beings to try to be better, to improve ourselves, and even ask for God’s help to have patience, to be more careful in our speaking, etc. But this is NOT what God desires – God doesn’t want an improved human behavior with an increased self-effort every time. The result of this self-perfecting is pride and a stronger self, which cannot build up the Body! What God desires is that we as human beings would live by the divine life in our spirit. learning to live our human life by the divine life in our mingled spirit (Romans 8)
the Triune God is not for theological understanding but for the divine dispensing!
With our natural mind we cannot understand the Triune God; God being Triune, One yet Three, Three yet One – this blows our mind away. As someone said, To understand God you need to BE God. But everywhere in the Bible we see the Triune God! The whole Bible is saturated with the Divine Trinity! And the main aspect we see about the Triune God is that He is not for our mental comprehension or theological understanding but He is for dispensing all that He is into us! God is Triune so that God the Father in the Son through the Spirit would impart all the riches of God into man! Lord, cause the desire of Your heart to become the desire of my heart! Make me an overcomer!
We are not yet overcomers – Paul could say only at the end of his life that he is ready to receive the crown – but we can receive from the Lord an aspiration to be an overcomer, and we can pray for the Lord to produce us as overcomers! The overcomers are for the building up of the Body of Christ! They don’t overcome only in their personal life matters such as their temper, the besetting sin, etc – they meet the Lord’s need to be the ones who are willing to be produced by the Lord as the sevenfold intensified Spirit, who give themselves for the building up of the Body of Christ as the reality in the churches! Christ is the reality of the law to infuse His living substance into His loving seekers!
In our experience whether the law as the living word of God is positive or negative depends on what the condition of our heart is when we receive the Word! If we are loving seekers of God loving Him, humbling ourselves before Him, and regarding the law as His living Word through which we can contact Him and abide in Him – then the law will become a channel through which we receive life and nourishment for our supply! If our heart is humble, open, unloaded, unveiled, and appreciative for the Lord we love, we are infused with God’s substance through the law as God’s word and we even become one with God in life, nature, and expression (Rom. 8:14; Phil. 1:21)! the significance of Christ as the cornerstone for God’s building (Psalm 118)
What does it mean that Christ is the cornerstone in God’s building? In the Psalms we see that Christ is the refuge rock, the blessed Rock, the protecting rock, the higher rock, the unique rock, the strengthening rock, the habitation rock, the unfailing rock, the salvation rock, and the trusting rock! Also, He is nine types of stones: the eternal rock, the foundation stone, the living stone, the cornerstone, the precious stone, the topstone, the cleft rock, the crushing stone, and the stone of stumbling! Specifically, brother Andrew Yu was sharing at least 6 aspects in which Christ being the cornerstone is very significant: [continue reading online the six aspects]
the local churches as the golden lampstands bear the testimony of Jesus on the earth
If we do not see what the Lord’s recovery is intrinsically, we may be in the Lord’s recovery outwardly and in the local church meetings weekly, but we may have an empty church life. Unless we see the intrinsic significance of the Lord’s recovery we have a vain life, at best a Brethren-type of meeting… The focus of the Lord’s Recovery is the corporate expression of the Triune God – in the church life, Christ is shining and God is fully expressed through all the saints! O, Lord, show us intrinsically what the focus of the Lord’s recovery is! [continue reading this portion inspired from the Morning Revival on the Focus of the Lord’s Recovery, week 1 day 4]
seeing the highest revelation of Christ and willingly consecrating ourselves to Him
Today we can cooperate with Chirst in His heavenly ministry, as He is on His way to victory, by being the young men who offer themselves willingly in the day of His warfare, in the splendor of their consecration (Psa. 110:3). Our willing consecration is our consent, our surrender to the Lord – our whole life and our whole being is for His economy and for His recovery! When we offer ourselves willingly to the Lord, in His eyes we are beautified with a divine heavenly splendor. O, the joy of having nothing, seeing nothing, and caring for nothing but God’s interest here on earth!
