As we are enjoying the wonderful all-inclusive Christ as revealed in the book of Acts, we come to Acts 5, where we see Christ as the Leader and Saviour – He has all authority and He is ruling over everything with His authority to bring us, His people, to salvation and full maturity!
Praise the Lord, Christ is our Leader and our Saviour! We love the Lord Jesus! He is the most wonderful One! Everything we need, He is.
We were dead in sins and offenses, and He came to us as the Author of life. Through the shining of the word of the gospel, we saw something of the Lord Jesus, the most wonderful One, and we believed into Him.
Actually, our faith in Christ was initiated by Him, for He infused us with Himself as faith. We had no ability to believe, we had no hope, and we were rebellious against God, even at enmity with Him.
But He came where we are, He shined on us, and He infused us with Himself as our faith.
The result is that we opened to Him, and we believed into Him. By faith in Christ, which is He infusing us with Himself as our faith, we received the divine life into us.
Christ is the Author of life. He came so that we may have life and may have it abundantly. How we love Him as the Author of life, the One who is holy and righteous, and who infuses us with His life!
Day by day, we love to spend time with Him in His living word, reading and praying over His word, allowing Him to shine on us and within us, and we grow in life.
Our Christian life is a life of growing in the knowledge of Christ and also in the life of Christ. He came into us as life.
He is the originator of life, and now we have the divine life. He who has the Son has the life. Amen, we have the divine life!
Even more, He is the Servant of God coming to us for our blessing. In Him we are blessed. In Christ, all the families of the earth are blessed.
If we only open to Him, we enjoy Him as our blessing. God in Christ went through a process to become the all-inclusive, life-giving Spirit as the blessing of the gospel, and when we open to Him, we are blessed.
God is pleased to bless us with every spiritual blessing in Christ, and on our side, we can exercise our spirit to receive and enjoy His blessing. Hallelujah!
Thank the Lord that He poured Himself out upon us and into our heart as the blessing! We are blessed people because we have Christ as our blessing in our spirit!
God Exalted the man Jesus as the Highest Leader, the Prince, the Ruler, and the Saviour
Our God is so wonderful, and His salvation is so marvellous! God did not leave us in sin and He did not blot out man from before Him; rather, He has a plan of salvation, and He does things according to His eternal economy.
He has a heart’s desire, an eternal purpose, and a will; according to His will, He does all things. God Himself was incarnated to be a man in the person of Jesus Christ. Through incarnation, Jesus became a man.
Through His human living on the earth, He was qualified to be our Saviour, for He lived a perfect life on earth, fulfilling all the requirements of God’s righteousness, holiness, and glory.
Then, through His crucifixion, Christ accomplished a wonderful redemption, even a full redemption, paying the ultimate price for man to be brought back to God.
But this was not the end: He entered into resurrection three days after His death, and His resurrection was a vindication and approval by God!
God approved the Lord’s incarnation, human living, and redemptive death by raising Jesus from the dead! Hallelujah!
Even more, Christ ascended to the heavens, and in His ascension, He was inaugurated to be the ruling Leader so that He might be the Saviour (Acts 5:29-31)! Praise the Lord!
God exalted the man Jesus as the highest Leader, the Prince, the Ruler of the kings to rule over the world, and the Saviour to save God’s chosen people (Rev. 1:5; 19:16; Acts 5:31).
This is truly amazing, for here we have a man, actually a God-man, who was God incarnated, who went through human living, death, resurrection, ascension, and exaltation.
In His exaltation in His ascension, God made Jesus Christ, a Man, the highest Leader and the Ruler of the kings of the world.
Also He was made the Saviour of man, so that He may save us all to the uttermost! Acts 3:15 tells us that Christ is the Leader; this word in Greek is archegos, meaning the author, the origin, the originator, the chief leader, the captain.
The Jewish leaders and the Roman politicians rejected and killed the Lord Jesus, but God exalted the man Jesus to be the highest Leader!
Man rejected Christ and put Him to death, but God exalted Him to the uttermost, making Him the Ruler and Saviour to rule over all things and also to save God’s chosen people.
Jesus Christ is the highest Leader, the Prince, and the Ruler of the kings to rule over the world.
Also, He is the Saviour to save us, His chosen and redeemed people. Whoever believes into the Lord Jesus today is under His ruling and saving, for He has been exalted and enthroned far above all!
Now Christ has the authority over all flesh to give eternal life to all whom the Father gave Him (John 17:2). Praise the Lord!
This One God has exalted to His right hand as Leader and Saviour, to give repentance to all men and forgiveness of sins (Acts 5:31).
When we read and pray over these verses, we are filled with appreciation for the Lord Jesus, our Leader and Saviour, who rules over all things to lead us to salvation!
Christ now rules sovereignly over the whole earth with His authority so that the environment may be fit for us, God’s chosen people, to receive God’s salvation (Acts 17:26-27). Praise the Lord!
Aren’t you so filled with appreciation and love for the Lord Jesus, who not only redeemed us but even more, is now the Leader and the Saviour?
Lord Jesus, we love You! Thank You for becoming a man through incarnation. Thank You for having a perfect human living, which qualified You to be our Saviour! Praise You for dying for us on the cross to accomplish a full redemption for us! Amen, Lord, we praise You for Your resurrection, which vindicated Your redemptive work! Hallelujah for Christ being exalted in His ascension! Wow, Lord, You have been inaugurated as the ruling Leader so that You may be the Saviour! Hallelujah, God exalted the man Jesus as the highest Leader and the Saviour! Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ is the Prince, the Ruler of the kings to rule over the world! Amen, Lord, You are the Saviour to save God’s chosen people! Though man rejected and killed You on the cross, God highly exalted You and gave You the name which is above every name! Praise the Lord, Christ is the Leader and the Saviour! Amen, Lord, we believe that You are sovereignly ruling over the earth with Your authority so that we may be saved! Praise the Lord!
Christ is the Ruler and the Saviour, Ruling over All for His Chosen People to be Saved
If we look at the world today we may think that Satan prevails everywhere, for there is so much chaos, so many conflicts, so many wars, and so much immorality and injustice everywhere.
However, if we come to the Lord in His word, we will realise that Jesus Christ is the highest Ruler over all the kings of the earth (Rev. 1:5), for God exalted Him to His right hand as Leader and Saviour (Acts 5:31).
Who truly rules the earth today? It’s not the presidents, the kings, or the leaders of the nations, nor is it the “super powers” or the leaders of large corporations.
The New Testament tells us that Christ is the Ruler of the kings, for He is the Leader, the chief Ruler.
Though it may not seem apparent, Christ as the Ruler of the kings, dethrones all the kings. Only He is the Ruler! There may be a president or a king who may rule for twenty, thirty, or forty years, but eventually they die; it is the Lord Jesus who is the Ruler and the Saviour.
Christ is both the Ruler and the King; He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Rev. 19:16). As the Ruler, Christ rules the entire earth.
It may seem that it is the president or king of a certain country that rules, and they seem to be running things; actually, the One who is on the throne is Jesus Christ.
The whole world today is under the Lord’s ruling. He truly is the Leader, the chief Ruler.
The fact that He’s the Leader relates to His authority; Christ was given by God all authority in heaven and on earth (Matt. 28:19-20), and He is the Ruler.
The fact that He is the Saviour is related to His salvation. Christ is not like the rulers today who rule selfishly, trying to accumulate more things and more money, without caring for the people they rule.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Ruler and the Saviour, and He rules sovereignly over the earth with His authority so that the environment might be fit for God’s chosen people to receive His salvation.
He arranges the whole world situation to cause certain people and groups of people to be open to the gospel and receive salvation.
For example, many people want to immigrate to certain countries to have a better life, and once they get there, they are more open to the Lord and the gospel.
The Lord uses their immigration to a new country to cause them to open more to Him, and He gains them.
If these ones had remained in their own country, they wouldn’t have been so open to the Lord, but when they leave their country and arrive in a new country, they become more open.
This is one way the Lord is both the Leader and the Saviour for His chosen people to receive salvation.
If each one of us considers our own situation and what the Lord did around us and in us in order to save us, we will be amazed; we all are a walking miracle, for it was impossible for us to believe in Him, yet the Leader and the Saviour operated and worked to bring us to salvation.
God has chosen us in eternity past, and at the right time the Lord Jesus, the Ruler of the kings of the earth, exercised His authority to produce and bring about a certain environment so that we had no choice except to believe in Him.
Many of our peers who went through similar situations as we did, did not believe into the Lord, but the Lord had mercy on us and became our Saviour.
We were “caught” in Christ and by Christ; something of Christ was infused into us, and we simply believed.
Before we were saved, we were like a mouse, running loose everywhere; but when Christ exercised His sovereign authority to catch us, we were caught in Christ.
Now we may try to run away, but we are “trapped” in Christ, “caught” by Him. God is sovereign. Christ is the Ruler and the Saviour, and He exercises both His authority and His salvation to gain us.
It is not that we are better than others or more seeking than them; it is the Lord’s mercy and His sovereignty.
He is sovereign in our environment to arrange all things so that we may be saved, even so that we may be much more saved in His life.
We can only praise and worship Him, for He works all things for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28-29).
We now love Him, we are called by Him, and the Lord still works as the Leader and the Saviour to arrange all things in our environment for our salvation.
Lord Jesus, we praise You and we worship You as the Leader and the Saviour! We love You and we open to You. Thank You for arranging all things in our environment in Your sovereignty so that we may be saved. Praise the Lord, Christ rules sovereignly over the earth with His authority so that the environment might be fit for God’s chosen people to receive His salvation! Amen, Lord, thank You for leading us to salvation. You are on the throne. We worship You for Your sovereignty. We thank You for Your salvation. Thank You for arranging all things, all situations, all matters, and all persons around us so that we may be saved! Oh Lord, we love You! We open to You. We want to be saved much more in Your life. We believe that all things work together for good for us, for we love You and are called according to Your purpose! Hallelujah, we are being daily conformed to the image of Christ, the firstborn Son of God!
