Exercise our Spirit to See the Vision of the Christ in Glory, even in our Depression

...I saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Isa. 6:1

We need to see the vision of Christ in glory even in our depression, for no matter how corrupted or rebellious God’s people are, Jesus Christ as the God-man is still sitting on a high and lofty throne, and when we turn our heart to Him, we are infused with Him and healed of our sickness!

Oh Lord, may we see the vision of Christ in glory! May we lift up our eyes from where we are, look up to You, and see Jesus Christ as the enthroned God-man! Hallelujah, there is a Man in the glory, and the God-man Jesus is still on the throne! Amen, Lord, we look to You and we go on with You today for the fulfilment of Your economy! Amen!

Our Lord Jesus is the most wonderful One, and we need to look away unto Jesus from everything else.

There are many things in this world, especially in today’s world, that distract us from Christ; however, when we see the Lord’s preciousness, we will simply set our eyes on Him.

Christ is precious, valuable, worthy, and wonderful. When we are enlightened by the Lord, having our heart turned to Him and being touched in our conscience, we will simply appreciate Christ and love Him.

We will realise that there’s nothing we can do for the Lord for all that He has done for us except call on the name of the Lord to deeply drink from the cup of salvation!

To us who believe, Christ is the preciousness. He unveils us day by day to see Him, and we have the precious blood of Christ to cleanse us and wash us, even for us to be qualified to come forward to Him to enjoy Him more.

We have the precious promises of God, and we can pray-read the word of God to make it our enjoyment and experience. Oh, the Lord is so rich to us in His word!

As we just open to Him, exercise our spirit in coming to His word, and turn our heart to Him to be unveiled, we see the Lord face to face, and we gain more of Him.

We have the precious faith, for each one of us as believers in Christ was allotted an equally precious faith. By faith, we partake of what God is.

By exercising our spirit of faith, everything that is of God is infused into us to become our enjoyment and experience.

Thank the Lord for the precious faith, and thank Him that He even proves our faith, and this proving through testing and trial is precious.

Whenever we touch the precious Christ, everything becomes precious, for He as the preciousness, is infused into us to make us men of preciousness. Lord Jesus, we love You! Amen!

See the Vision of Christ in Glory even in our Depression due to the Degradation and Corruption of God’s people

You, O Jehovah, abide forever; / Your throne is from generation to generation. Lam. 5:19

In Isaiah 6 we see that the vision of Christ in glory was seen by Isaiah in his depression (Isa. 6:1-8; cf. 5:20; 22:1; 2 Chron. 26:1-5).

Isaiah was depressed, for he saw the iniquity and corruption of God’s people, and he realised that he lived and dwelt among people of unclean lips, even he himself being such a person.

Today there is much talk about dealing with depression, and whether we want to admit this or not, each one of us has been depressed.

Even the apostle Paul was depressed; actually, he was in a situation in which he experienced something more than depression. In 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 he said that he despaired even of living; this means that he lost all hope. Oh Lord!

But God who raises the dead came in, and Paul trusted in this God and in nothing else that came from his environment.

In Isaiah’s case, recently King Uzziah had died; this king was a good king who followed God’s word and kept the law, so his death was a major tragedy that affected Isaiah.

Even more, the evil time during Isaiah’s days can be seen by the Lord’s warning word – “Woe to those who call evil good, / And good evil; / Who put darkness for light, / And light for darkness; / Who put bitter for sweet, / And sweet for bitter!” (Isa. 5:20).

In his days there were many who called evil as good and good as evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

This seems to be the same today; if you watch the news or talk to people around you, you realise that today the whole world is the wrong way around.

People today appreciate and uplift evil, while looking down on good, and they justify their unrighteous deeds while criticising others’ righteous works. Today many put darkness for light and try to convince us that sweet is bitter and bitter is sweet.

Many times when you watch the news or read what’s posted on social media, your spirit is provoked within you, for there’s a spirit of lawlessness operating in the people today.

However, we need to realise that, in spite of the rebellion, iniquities, and corruption in this world and also among God’s chosen and beloved people, Christ is still on the throne (Isa. 6:1-5; Lam. 5:19; Rev. 22:1).

When we exercise our spirit to touch the Lord, we realise that Jesus Christ as the Lord, the King, Jehovah of hosts, is still sitting on a high and lofty throne in glory. Jesus Christ is Lord!

No matter what is happening in the world, no matter how deep the corruption and immorality are around us, and no matter how degraded and corrupted the general situation among God’s people is, Christ is still on the throne.

The situation today may cause us to be depressed, but we need to see the vision of Christ in glory!

These things said Isaiah because he saw His glory and spoke concerning Him. John 12:41 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street. Rev. 22:1It is normal, even human, for us to be depressed, especially as we look at the situation in society today; however, when we look away unto Jesus, when we see the vision of the glorious Christ who is enthroned in heaven, we are filled with joy and hope!

Even when we look at our own situation, we may be discouraged and depressed. We may think that we did not change that much, our flesh is worse than ever before, and we don’t seem to improve.

But the Lord encourages us not to look at the situation down here but look up to Him!

We need to look to the Lord and see the vision of the glorious Christ! As we live our Christian life and church life, we need to not look down at the situation here but look up to Christ!

Our Christ is no longer on the cross; He is now on the throne, being enthroned far above all!

We are fallen, the church is degraded, and the situation in the world is full of corruption and wickedness, but Christ remains the same today and forever (Heb. 13:8).

We simply need to lift our eyes and see the vision of Christ in glory!

Lord Jesus, we exercise our spirit to look to You today! Amen, Lord, grant us to see the vision of Christ in glory! May we see that, no matter how wicked and corrupted the situation in the world is today, Christ is on the throne! Hallelujah, in spite of the rebellion, iniquities, and corruptions of God’s people, Christ the King is still sitting on the throne! Praise You, Lord Jesus, for being enthroned far above all! May we lift up our eyes from our situation and look away from our depression unto Jesus! Hallelujah, Christ as the Lord is still sitting on a high and lofty throne in glory! Amen, Lord, may we see the vision of Christ in glory. May we receive Your mercy and grace to look up to You, not remaining in depression due to the outward situation, but simply see the Christ in glory! Praise the Lord, though there’s nothing good here, everything is good with the Lord in glory! Hallelujah, though everything changes and fluctuates on this earth, our Christ on the throne remains the same today and forever! Praise the Lord!

Exercise our Spirit to Pray for the Lord to Open our Inner Eyes and Turn our Heart to Him to see the Vision of the Glorious and Enthrone Christ!

Immediately I was in spirit; and behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and upon the throne there was One sitting. Rev. 4:2

The Christ whom Isaiah saw was the Christ in glory, and the train of Christ’s robe still filled the temple (Isa. 6:1). This long robe of Christ’s signifies His splendour in His virtues. The splendour of Christ in His virtues is expressed mainly in and through His humanity.

The apostle John wrote concerning this in his gospel and said that Isaiah saw God’s glory and spoke concerning him (see John 12:38-41). Isaiah saw the vision of the glorious Christ in his depression, and he was encouraged, comforted, and strengthened.

The Christ he saw was the God-man Christ; He was not just God, but the God-man, for His divinity is expressed through His humanity.

And He said, Go and say to this people, Hear indeed, but do not perceive; / And see indeed, but do not understand. Make the heart of this people numb; / Dull their ears, / And seal their eyes; / Lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears, / And their heart perceive and return, and they are healed. Isa. 6:9-10We may want to go to heaven and see the glory of God in His divinity, but what God wants is to express His glory in the splendour of His humanity with His human virtues.

Christ’s virtues are bright and shining, and this shining is His splendour.

We as believers in Christ love the Lord, we love His people, and we love God’s interest here on earth. However, as we look at the situation in society and even in the church life today, we may be discouraged and depressed.

In such situations, we simply need to look to the Lord and ask Him to give us the vision of Christ in glory.

In order for us to see the vision of the glorious enthroned Christ, we need to take heed to Isaiah’s warning word (Isa. 6:9-10).

We need to exercise our spirit to pray that the Lord would open our inner eyes, soften our heart, and keep our heart turned to Him so that we may receive His inner healing of our blindness and sickness (John 12:40; Matt. 13:14-17; Acts 28:25-27; Rev. 3:18; 4:2; 2 Cor. 3:16-18).

May we humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him to shine on us, open our inner eyes and cause our heart to be soft and turned toward Him so that He may heal us and infuse us with Himself.

Though God’s people and even we ourselves may violate God’s holiness and become corrupt in our human virtues, though some dear brothers and sisters in the Lord who have shepherded us may pass away, and though the situation in the environment around us may be worse than ever, we still can see the vision of the glorious and enthroned Christ.

May we not be like the people in Isaiah’s time who, even though they heard God’s word, they did not understand, and even though they saw God’s work with their eyes, did not perceive nor return to God to be healed. Oh Lord!

God the Father uttered such a warning in Isaiah, then God the Son spoke the same thing in Matthew 13, and God the Spirit spoke the same thing Acts 28.

The entire Triune God is concerned for us that we would not harden our hearts and not perceive His word nor turn to Him so that we may be healed.

Oh, may we turn our heart to the Lord! May we allow Him to heal us today! May we repent and turn so that He may heal us and we would return to Him to enjoy Him and partake of His riches!

When we turn to the Lord and see the vision of the glorious Christ, we will realise that His divinity is expressed and shines through His humanity!

But whenever their heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit. 2 Cor. 3:16-18Christ is the enthroned God-man with the divine glory expressed in His human virtues (Isa. 6:1; cf. Ezek. 1:26, 22; Acts 2:36; Heb. 2:9). He is not just God; He is a God-man, and He has a long train of His robe, signifying His human virtues expressing the splendour of His divine attributes.

When we read the Gospels, we see the wonderful Jesus, the God-man, and in particular, we see His humanity, the fact that He is a man.

He didn’t come to be God so that we all would be in awe of Him and worship Him; He came as a man, and He expressed God in His humanity.

Christ is a person with the divine glory expressed in His human virtues. We need to have a vision of this One. The splendour of His divinity being expressed through His humanity fills the church.

When we turn our heart to the Lord and exercise our spirit to touch Him, we are encouraged by Him, we are healed in our sickness, and we are infused with Him!

What a glorious, wonderful Jesus Christ we have! May we not remain in our depression but turn our heart to Him and exercise our spirit to see the vision of the glorious Christ!

May we not be disobedient to God’s grace but rather, may we receive His grace, turn our hearts to Him, let the Lord heal our blindness and sickness, and remain under the vision of the glorious enthroned Christ!

Lord Jesus, we love You and we open to You today! We want to see the vision of the glorious enthroned Christ. We exercise our spirit, Lord, and we turn our heart to You. Open our inner eyes to see You. Soften our heart. Keep our heart open to You so that we may receive Your inner healing of our blindness and sickness. Oh Lord, we turn our heart to You! Cause our heart to be soft toward You. May we not harden our heart when we hear Your word. Oh, may we hear Your word and perceive it! May we see You and allow You to infuse us! May we see Your splendour in Your virtues! May we come to You in Your word to enjoy Your human living, the God-man living, the expression of the divine attributes in the human virtues! Amen, Lord, appear to us as the enthroned God-man! May we see the vision of the Christ in glory! Praise the Lord, Christ is the enthroned God-man with the divine glory expressed in His human virtues! Hallelujah!

In Isaiah 6 Christ, the God-man, is seen in His divine glory. This God-man is unveiled in chapter 4 as the Shoot of Jehovah, the fruit of the earth, a canopy covering God’s interests in the entire universe, and the tabernacle overshadowing God’s elect to protect them from all kinds of troubles…In Isaiah 6 He is the God in glory sitting on the throne. Because He is wearing a long robe, He is also a man. This One is the God-man with divine glory and human virtues.

His human virtues are signified by the long train of His robe. This indicates that the vision here pays more attention to Christ’s human virtues. The four Gospels show us Christ as God and as man, but they show us more concerning Christ as a man. In the Gospels we see more of Christ in His manhood and in His humanity than in His divinity. Christ is expressed in His human virtues much more than in His divine glory. However, His human virtues need the divine glory as a source. Christ is a person with the divine glory expressed in His human virtues.

Dear brother, if we look around us at the situation in society, and even our situation and in the church life, we may be depressed, as Isaiah was.

But we need to lift up our eyes and see the vision of the glorious enthroned Christ, the One whose virtues shine forth His divinity.

When we see Him, we are healed, encouraged, and strengthened to go on.

Lord, we exercise our spirit and turn our heart to You. Grant us to see the vision of the glorious Christ. Take us on with You. We give ourselves to You today!

The One who appeared to Isaiah in his disappointment over the condition of the children of Israel was Christ as the Lord, the King, Jehovah of hosts (v. 5b; John 12:41 and note John 12:41). No matter what the situation might be on earth and regardless of the corruption and degradation among God’s people, Christ is still on the throne in His glory. The people had become fallen, but Christ and His throne remained the same in His glory. On this earth everything changes and fluctuates, but Christ remains the same today and forever (Heb. 13:8). Hence, we should not look down at the situation on earth but should look up to Christ on the throne (Heb. 12:2). Isa. 6:1 footnote 1 on, saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne.

Christ’s long robe signifies Christ’s splendor in His virtues, which is expressed mainly in and through His humanity. That Christ was wearing a long robe indicates that He appeared to Isaiah in the image of a man. Christ is the God-man with the divine glory expressed in His human virtues. Isa. 6:1 footnote 2 on, the train of His robe filled the temple.

Our experience may be like that of Isaiah in which we may be depressed by the world situation – the calling of evil good and good evil – and the degraded situation in the church.

But instead of looking down at these things, we need to turn our hearts and exercise our spirit to look up to Christ, the God-man on His throne in glory!

Lord grant us such a fresh vision of Yourself today as the One sitting on a high and lofty throne with Your divine glory expressed in human virtues. Lord we turn back to You! Amen – Lord we need such vision of Yourself enthroned and unchanging amidst the darkness of this word and the disappointments concerning the condition in the church even within ourselves! Lord heal us as we turn to You!

In spite of the rebellion, iniquities, and corruptions of Israel, His chosen and beloved people, Christ is still sitting on a high and lofty throne in glory (Isa. 6:1-4). These verses indicate that no matter what the situation might be on earth and regardless of the corruption and degradation among God’s people, Christ is still on the throne in His glory.

When Isaiah looked at the situation among the children of Israel, he became very disappointed… It was at this point that the Lord brought him into a vision so that he could see the Lord of glory sitting on the throne (v. 1). The Lord seemed to say to Isaiah, “Don’t look down at the situation. If you look down, you will be disappointed. Look up at Me. I am still here. There may be nothing good there, but everything is good here. I am the unique good thing in the universe. Look at Me.”

In the church life, we need to learn not to look down at the situation but to look up to Christ… The Christ whom we look up to is no longer on the cross; today Christ is on the throne.

The people had become fallen, but Christ and His throne remained the same in His glory (v. 1a). On this earth, everything changes and fluctuates, but Christ remains the same today and forever. (Heb. 13:8).

No matter what the situations might be on the earth. Regardless of the corruption and degradation among God’s people, Christ is still on throne in glory in His divinity and in the splendor in His humanity. Don’t look down at the situation on the earth. Don’t look at our own situation and condition. We need to look up to the heavens. We need to look away unto Jesus from so many distracting, disappointing, and discouraging things on the earth. Christ and His throne remain the same.
He is the Shoot of Jehovah in His deity, showing His divine nature, and the fruit of the earth in His humanity.
Thank You Lord Jesus branching out in Your divinity into humanity for God’s increase and spread in the universe. Thank You for being the fruit of the earth for the Triune God to be multiplied and reproduced in humanity.
Thank You for the riches, the refreshing, the vigor, the growth reproductive power of the divine life.
You are also the covering canopy of glory and an overshadowing tabernacle of grace. 🙏🙏🙏
