God is righteous in the blood of Jesus, His Son, to forgive us our sins whenever we repent and confess; when we walk according to the Spirit, we live out Christ as our righteousness, and we express the image of God, living in the kingdom of God in reality. Amen!
Thank the Lord that He is righteous, and even more, thank Him and worship Him for making us His righteousness, even the righteousness of God in Christ!
We human beings were born in sin, and as we grow in our human life, we become more and more rebellious against God. It is truly God’s mercy that we can see something of God’s salvation, repent, and believe into the Lord to become children of God!
In His mercy and grace, God has reached out to us, and in His sovereignty, we have believed into the Lord Jesus and repented of our sins. By the Lord’s shining on us, we saw who we are, what we are, and we also saw who He is and what He is.
We simply repented and believed, and the Lord had a way to come into us as our life.
When we believed into the Lord Jesus, repenting for our sins and confessing the name of Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, God clothed us with Christ as our righteousness.
God is righteous; He cannot accept us or have fellowship with us unless we match the standard of His righteousness.
So God in Christ came to die for us, and He fulfilled all the requirements of God’s righteousness. Now by faith in Him, the standard of righteousness is fulfilled, and we can be righteous before God in Christ.
We are justified by God. After believing into the Lord Jesus, however, we continue to come to the Lord to take Him as our righteousness; now this righteousness is wrought into us and lived out of us.
We do not seek to improve ourselves or perfect our behaviour; rather, we come to the Lord as we are so that we may have Him lived out of us as our righteousness.
We do not just draw to Him to know Him and know about Him; we turn our heart to Him and we allow Him to make His home in our heart through faith.
Righteousness is related to God’s outward acts, ways, actions, and activities.
Everything that God does is righteous; everything He does is righteous in every way.
He wants us to be as righteous as He is, and He does this by our walking according to the Spirit so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us. May we see this and may this become our reality in our daily living.
God is Righteous in the Blood of Jesus and Faithful in His word to Forgive us of our Sins

1 John 1:9 tells us that, if we confess our sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
We are all sinners. We come short of the glory of God. We sin not only when we do something that is wrong; we sin simply by not expressing God’s glory.
Even when we live in ourselves and by ourselves, we sin, for we do not express God in His glory. There is none righteous, not even one; we all come short of the glory of God.
God loves us; He loves the world very much, and He wants to dispense Himself with all that He is into us for our enjoyment so that we may become His corporate expression.
But just because He loves us, He can’t just set us free as sinners. His righteousness condemns us; we all come under God’s judgment.
We all deserve to die according to God’s righteous requirement. All men are born in sin; all men are sinners, deserving to be judged and die because of their sins. But God loves us, and He is righteous; so He came to die for us.
God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to be a man; He came as a sinless man, and He died for us. He died for us and bore the sin of the world upon Himself, being the Lamb of God (John 1:29).
The righteous died on behalf of the unrighteous. He paid the price of His own blood for all the sinners in the entire world throughout time and space.
The just died on behalf of the unjust. All the righteous requirements of God are met; now God is satisfied. He can set us free.
He sees us as righteous in Christ by virtue of our faith in Him, and He is happy when He sees us. God accepts the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, the perfect blood, and He looks at the blood and is satisfied.
The blood of Jesus has answered all the requirements of God, and by His righteousness, we are set free.
We can stand on the blood of Jesus when we confess our sins under the Lord’s shining, and God is righteous in the blood of Jesus to forgive us our sins.
God is faithful in His word (1 John 1:10) and righteous in the blood of Jesus, His Son.
He is faithful to what He has spoken; He is faithful to fulfil what He has promised to us in His word. And God is righteous in the blood of Jesus to cleanse us and wash us of our sins.
God’s word is the word of the truth of His gospel (Eph. 1:13), which tells us that He will forgive us our sins because of Christ (Acts 10:43).
Through the word of the gospel, we are promised by God that, if we repent and confess our sins, God will forgive us our sins because of Christ, who died for us and shed His blood for us on the cross.
Christ shed His blood, and the blood of Christ has fulfilled the righteous requirements of God so that He might forgive us our sins (Matt. 26:28).
What a wonderful provision we have in our Christian life today!
After believing into the Lord Jesus, we still sin, though not habitually; whenever we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and we also have the provision of the Lord’s blood shed for us.
We can come to the Lord as we are, confess our sins under His light, and God is righteous in the blood of Jesus and faithful in His word to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
To forgive us is to release us from the offense of our sins; to cleanse us is to wash us from the stain of our unrighteousness.
When we sin, we are stained in our conscience and the offense of sin is on us; we need to be forgiven by the Lord so that we may be released from the offense of our sins, and we need to be washed from the stain of our unrighteousness.
Once we are forgiven and washed, we do not linger in our thoughts of how defeated we are or how terrible our failure is; God has forgiven us, He has forgotten, and we are cleansed!
We trust in the Lord’s precious blood, and we go on enjoying the Lord. What a wonderful provision we have in the blood of Jesus!
Lord Jesus, we praise You for shedding Your precious blood on the cross to cleanse us and wash us from all our sins. Hallelujah, we can now confess our sins and God is faithful in His word and righteous in the blood of Jesus to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Thank You, Lord, for this wonderful provision of Your blood. Thank You for coming as the righteous One to die for us and shed Your blood for us. Hallelujah for the blood of Jesus, the Son of God, shed for us on the cross! Amen, Lord, may we stop our trying to make up for our sins or do good things to cover for what we have done wrong, and may we just come to You to confess our sins. Amen, we confess and He forgives! We confess our sins, and God is righteous in the blood of Jesus to forgive us! Praise the Lord, when God forgives us our sins, He releases us from the offense of our sins. Hallelujah, when God cleanses us from all unrighteousness, He washes us from the stain of our unrighteousness! Amen, Lord, we believe into You and we come forward to You today!
Walk according to the Spirit of Life to Bear the Image of Christ, Fulfil all Requirements of the Law, and Live in the Kingdom of God!

May the Lord shine on us regarding the matter of God’s righteousness and how we can experience Christ as our righteousness in our daily living.
Romans 8:4 is a deep verse showing us that the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. This is amazing!
When we walk according to the spirit, we don’t try or become able to fulfil the law; rather, the righteous requirement of the law is spontaneously, effortlessly, and automatically fulfilled in us. Wow!
In other words, when we’re in ourselves, trying to fulfil God’s requirements, we miserably fail, for we are wretched, we can’t fulfil God’s law, and we can’t please God.
But when we are in Christ, when we walk according to our mingled spirit, we have righteousness, for we express Christ and bear the image of God!
In Romans 8:29 we are told that God foreknew us and predestinated us to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers.
If we put verses 2 and 29 together, we see the Spirit, righteousness, and image; when we walk according to the Spirit of life, we fulfil the righteousness of the law, and we bear the image of Christ.
How are we conformed to the image of Christ, the firstborn Son of God? It is by walking according to the Spirit of life in our spirit so that the righteous requirements of the law may be fulfilled in us and therefore we express the image of Christ. Hallelujah!
When we exercise our spirit and walk according to the spirit, we have righteousness, and this righteousness is the very image of the Son of God.
It is our walk according to the Spirit that produces righteousness, and righteousness is the image of Christ, which we bear.
If we put these verses together with Romans 14:17 we further see that righteousness is related to the kingdom of God, which in this chapter refers to the church life.
When we meet with the saints in the local church, we exhibit the kingdom of God, and the reality of the kingdom of God can be found in the church life today.
Thank the Lord that the church life is the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of God is righteousness.
Righteousness is the foundation of God’s throne (Psa. 89:14) and Christ reigns as a King according to righteousness (Isa. 32:1).
His throne is forever and ever, and the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of His kingdom; He has loved righteousness and hated lawlessness (Heb. 1:8-9).
If we read the Old Testament, many times righteousness is synonymous with the kingdom, for where the kingdom of God is, there is righteousness.
Righteousness is related to government, administration, regulation, and rule. Where the kingdom of God is, everything is headed up in Christ in a proper way.
When we have righteousness, we first have the image of God; then, righteousness establishes the kingdom of God.
The image of God, righteousness, and the kingdom of God are related. These are not just concepts or doctrines; all these relate very much to our daily living and to our experience of Christ.
We need to learn to walk according to the Spirit of life in our daily living. For example, in married life and in family life, the husband and the wife need to learn to walk according to the Spirit.
If the spouses are not happy with each other, it is because they do not walk according to the Spirit of life; this unhappiness between the husband and the wife will create an unpleasant situation in their family life, and their children and those around them will sense this.
There will be no kingdom of God present, and there’s no righteousness; the image of Christ is not expressed through them. Oh Lord Jesus!
We may think that the husband and the wife merely disagree on something or have an exchange of words, and that may be what is seen, but the reality is that there’s no expression of God in their married life.
But when the brother and his wife live in the Spirit and walk according to the Spirit of life, they will be happy and pleasant to one another, and their children will also be happy.
Their family life will be glorious and wonderful, for righteousness is there, and the image of Christ is expressed.
Others will be able to see the image of God, and they will realise that the kingdom of God is present in that family. May the Lord gain such an experience among us in our family life and in the church life!
Lord Jesus, we want to live and walk according to the Spirit of life today. Hallelujah, when we walk according to the spirit, the righteous requirement of the law is spontaneously fulfilled in us! Wow, Lord, we want to have such a daily living! We don’t want to try harder to fulfil Your requirements or obey Your word; we simply come to You and we exercise our spirit as we live our Christian life. Amen, Lord, conform us more to the image of Christ in our daily life as we are learning to walk according to the Spirit. May there be the image of God with us as we live and walk in the spirit. Amen, Lord, may Your kingdom come in us and around us. May we live out Christ as our righteousness in our daily life. Head us up in all things in our daily living. We don’t want to do anything apart from You; we simply want to remain in the organic union with You and do all things in the mingled spirit. Oh Lord, what about our family life? May we learn to be in spirit and do all things in the mingled spirit so that Your image may be expressed through us, Your kingdom would come, and the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us!

Life-study of 2 Corinthians, pp. 254-255, by Witness Lee
When we walk according to the Spirit, the righteous requirement of the law is spontaneously fulfilled in us, and we bear the image of God, for we have Christ lived out in us as our righteousness.
This is to live in the kingdom of God, which is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
May we learn to live and walk according to the Spirit in our daily life, both at work and at school and wherever we are, so that we may have Christ lived out as our righteousness and we live in the kingdom!
Amen! We need to walk according to the spirit, then we bear the image, the expression of God, and the Kingdom of God is established in our day-by-day living!
We can only fulfill the righteousness of the law if we walk according to the Spirit of life.
This is to be conformed to the image of Christ.
The meetings of the church should be an exhibition of the kingdom of God. First, righteousness issues in the kingdom of God; then it establishes the kingdom of God.
When we live and walk according to the Spirit, we are actually the kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is established in righteousness; it is set in order and properly headed up.
We need to minister the Spirit and righteousness to others, ministering Christ as the life supply inwardly and as righteousness to be the expression of God inwardly.
Matt. 5:20 footnote 1 on, righteousness, Recovery Version Bible
Amen. Lord, cause us to walk according to the Spirit.
Righteousness is the very image of the son of God. For us to be conformed to His image, we need to walk according to the spirit of life.
In this way the Spirit will produce righteousness, and we will express the righteousness of Christ to others, and the Kingdom of God would be present.
Amen brother
The foundation of His throne is righteousness.
So, as long as we are born of Him, we need to walk according to the Spirit, not to the flesh. This righteous walk of life will be seen and condemned worldly people.
Our image would be His image and could be citizens of His kingdom.
Praise the Lord for the righteous bride He is preparing.
Day by day when we walk according to the Spirit we will produce righteousness and be conformed to the image of God.
