Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God; if we are pure in heart in seeking God, we will see God, we will behold Him and be infused with Him, we will be constituted with God, we will be transformed, and we will deny ourselves, even abhor ourselves.
Lord Jesus, grant us to be the pure in heart. Purify our heart, Lord. May we see God. We want to see You, enjoy You, and be filled with You! Transform us more into Your image as we behold You face to face. Oh Lord, the more we see You, the more we deny ourselves. Have Your way to make us pure in heart! Amen!
God made us in His image and according to His likeness, and His intention is that we possess His life, be filled with His life, be constituted with His nature, and become the same as He is in life and nature but not in the Godhead.
He wants us to be His corporate expression and representation on the earth. For this purpose, He created us in a particular way, with both a body as our outward expression and an inward being with many inward parts, and within the innermost part of our being, He put in us a spirit.
We have our inward parts, even as God has His inward parts; we are made in His image and according to His likeness.
The condition of our inward parts determines how the economy of God will be carried out, how fast or how slow it will be carried out in our being.
God doesn’t just want us to serve Him and worship Him in an outward way; He wants to work Himself into the depths of our being to make us the same as He is in life, nature, expression, and function.
This means that we need to exercise ourselves all the time to have a proper spirit and a proper heart. Satan came in and poisoned man; he came in and deadened our spirit due to sin, and he filled our heart with himself, even making us the flesh, the totality of the fallen human being. Oh Lord!
Genesis 6 says that the whole world became flesh – not just the body but the whole being of the fallen man became flesh, including the soul and the spirit. Oh Lord!
Man’s spirit was deadened, man’s heart was poisoned, and Satan’s poison is in us. So God comes to us in His salvation to rescue us and heal us out of Satan’s poisoning and ruin.
He wants to work Himself into us and save, recover, and restore our inward parts. He activated our spirit by regenerating it to make it living, even full of life.
Then, part by part, He recovers and restores every part of our inner being, all the parts of our heart, so that He may spread Himself and make His home in our heart through faith.
Blessed are the Pure in Heart, for They Shall See God: we need to be Pure in Heart, Seeking only God Himself

The first inward part we need to deal with in order to be the kingdom people is our spirit; we need to be poor in spirit so that we may have the kingdom of the heavens.
The second inward part that needs dealing is our heart; blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8).
What does it mean to be pure in heart? Many times we think we know what this means, and we are very much hindered from having a fresh opening and appreciation of what it means being pure in heart.
To have a pure heart means that our heart is single, seeking nothing but the Lord Himself, so that Christ may grow in us without frustration (Matt. 13:19-23).
Our heart is like the earth, seen in Matthew 13; the seed of the kingdom has been sown into it.
The parable of the sower shows us that 75% of the earth is not positive, for the seed fell into rocky places, by the wayside, or in the thorns, and only 25% of the earth is good.
There are many things in our heart that complicate, hinder, and frustrate the growth in life.
The seed of the word comes into us, and the seed is perfect, with no problem; however, the condition of the soil has problems.
What is the condition of our heart? Is our heart like the soil by the wayside, very hard toward the Lord and His spreading in us? Is our heart full of rocks and stones, with many hidden desires, sins, and pleasures, which hinder the rooting of the word of God in us?
Is our heart like the soil among the thorns, full of anxieties of life, deceitfulness of riches, and the lust for so many things? All these things frustrate the growth of the seed in us.
This means that the kingdom of God cannot expand in our being; the kingdom is spiritual and wants to grow, expand, and spread in the human heart.
We want to deal with our heart, be before the Lord concerning our heart, and pray that we would be pure in heart so that we would see God and our heart would be the proper soil for His growth in us.
If we are pure in heart in seeking God, our reward is that we will see God. God is our reward. We gain God as a reward by being pure in heart.
This means that we need to be strict, righteous, with ourselves, and merciful toward others, and we are pure in heart toward God.
Toward others we are merciful and kind, and toward ourselves we are strict and righteous, before God. Toward God, we need to be pure in heart.
To be pure in heart means that we are single in purpose; we have the single goal of accomplishing God’s will for God’s glory (1 Cor. 10:31).
This is our unique purpose and goal; God’s purpose and goal are our purpose and goal.
On the one hand, we contact the Lord as the Spirit by means of our spirit (John 1:12; 3:6); on the other hand, we turn our heart to the Lord so that He may have the full ground in our being to grow in us and expand His kingdom in us.
If we are pure in heart, single in our heart, Christ will grow in us without any frustration, and we will se God. We will seek God and see God.
If we are pure in heart when we seek God, we will see God. Amen, what a reward we have for being pure in heart: we will see God!
We don’t merely see God in an objective way as the Creator of all things: we see God subjectively and are infused with God!
Seeing God is receiving God; we see God, we gain God, and we are filled with God. May we open to the Lord and cooperate with Him to deal with our heart so that we may be pure in heart.
Yes, we need to exercise our spirit and contact the Lord, but at the same time we need to turn our heart to Him and open to Him to be pure in heart so that we may see God.
When we see God, we receive God; He adds more of HIs element into our being, and He transforms us (2 Cor. 3:18).
God comes into our being as our new element to renew us and transform us, for He adds more of Himself to us as we behold Him, being pure in heart.
As He transforms us, our whole being becomes new; we become just like Him, for He renews us and makes us the same as He is.
Wow, by being pure in heart, we can behold God, enjoy God, partake of God, and become the same as God, for He adds Himself to us to such an extent that we reflect Him.
We behold Him and we reflect Him, and we are transformed into the same image, from glory to glory! Amen!
Lord Jesus, we love You! We turn our heart to You. We exercise our spirit to contact You and receive You, and we open our heart to You. Oh Lord, grant us to be pure in heart. Amen, blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God! Amen, Lord, we want to see You! May we seek nothing else besides You. We only want You, dear Lord! We open to You concerning the condition of our heart. We want to deal with any hidden sins, anxieties of life, deceitfulness of riches, and worldliness. Amen, Lord, keep us turning our heart to You so that we may behold You face to face! We just want to see Your face. May we behold You with an unveiled face so that we may reflect You and be transformed into the same image! Amen, Lord, may we see God and receive God, gain God, and be constituted with God! Renew our inner being as we behold You in spirit. Oh Lord, make our whole being new so that we may be transformed into the same image as You, from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit!
The Pure in Heart See God, are Constituted with God, Gain God, and Deny Themselves, for they Abhor themselves

A very good example of someone who did not just know about God but eventually saw God was Job in the Old Testament. He knew about God, he heard about God, and he did many things to try to please God.
But all these availed to nothing until he saw God. In God’s appearing to him, Job saw God, gaining God in his personal experience and abhorring himself (see Job 38:1-3; 42:1-6).
Job went through a lot of suffering and loss, and his friends came, and together they talked about everything in heaven and on earth.
Eventually, at the end, Job wanted to even take God to court, for he did not understand why he, a self-righteous person, went through all these things.
When God came and said something, however, Job repented in dust and ashes, and he admitted that he only heard about God, but now his eyes have seen God. So he hated himself, for he saw who he is in the light of what God is.
When we are pure in heart, we see God, and we abhor ourselves. Today our God is the all-inclusive Spirit as the consummation of the processed and consummated Triune God (2 Cor. 2:10; 2 Tim. 4:22).
The God whom we look at today is the consummated Spirit, and we can look at Him in our spirit. We do not see God physically; we behold Him in spirit, for God is Spirit and we worship Him in spirit and truthfulness (John 4:24).
It is such a blessing to have a pure heart and see God! From the very morning, we can contact God as the Spirit in our spirit; we can take some time to enjoy Him in our morning watch with Him.
We can take ten or fifteen minutes to pray, contact the Lord, call on His name, and pray-read His word, so that we may behold Him face to face. In this way, we receive something of the Lord into our being; something of God’s element is infused into us.
The pure in heart see God, enjoy God, gain God, are constituted with God, and they abhor themselves, denying themselves.
We see God so that we may be constituted with God; seeing God transforms us, and seeing God equals gaining God so that we may become God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead (2 Cor. 3:16, 18; Matt. 5:8; Rev. 22:4).
The more we deal with our heart to be pure in heart, the more behold the Lord; the more we gaze on the Lord, the more we are constituted with Him.
There’s a transmission, a dispensing, that is automatically going on in us as we spend time face to face with the Lord.
We just need to be single in heart, beholding the Lord. We need to focus only on Him, forgetting all other things. To have a single heart is to have a single vision; if we look at two objects at the same time, we have division, for our vision is divided and we do not see God clearly.
The more we believers in Christ see God and love God, the more we deny ourselves and abhor ourselves (Job 42:5-6; Isa. 6:5; Luke 14:26).
May we love the Lord with all our heart today. May we love Him, be pure in heart, and see Him!
May we love the Lord and be constituted with Him so that He may grow in us, constitute us, and make us the same as He is.
On the positive side, when we see God, we gain more of God, and He infuses Himself into us. On the negative side, when we see the Lord, being pure in heart, we will abhor ourselves; we will see who we are in the Lord’s light, and we deny ourselves, abhorring what we are in our natural man. Oh Lord!
If we see the Lord, we will see that the things and objects of this world are trash, rubbish, and junk (Phil. 3:7-8; cf. Jer. 15:19). We will only treasure the Lord, the most wonderful One, and we will only behold Him.
Lord Jesus, make us pure in heart so that we may see God, gain God. We want to be single in heart, seeking nothing but the Lord Himself so that Christ may grow in us without any frustration. Hallelujah, when we see God, we gain God! Amen, Lord, we want to see You and gain You today! Appear to us today. May we gain God and deny ourselves, realising what we are in the Lord’s shining! Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit and we turn our heart to You to behold You face to face in spirit! May we see God and be constituted with God! Praise the Lord, seeing God transforms us, and seeing God equals gaining God so that we may become God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead! Amen, Lord, the more we love You and see You, the more we deny ourselves and abhor ourselves. Everything else besides You is just junk; only You are the most precious One! May we behold You with an unveiled face today! Make us pure in heart so that we may see God and gain God!

Life-study of Matthew, p. 172, by Witness Lee
Dear brother, we need not only to be poor in spirit but also pure in heart, single in view and purpose for the Lord.
If we are pure in heart, we see God, and when we see Him, we abhor ourselves, deny ourselves, and let Him work Himself into us to transform us.
We must be pure in heart and poor in spirit, seeking nothing besides Him to see God as our reward.
Seeing God is a matter of turning to our spirit, spending time with the Lord and being transformed day by day.
In this way we will see Him, which is to receive the divine element and be transformed into the glorious image of God.
May we have the single goal of accomplishing God’s will for His glory.
We need to be pure in heart, seeking nothing besides God.
Our heart is the ground where Christ grows.
If we’re righteous with ourselves, merciful toward others and pure in heart toward God, we will “see” God by receiving Him as the element that renews us and transforms us by adding His divine element into our being.
May we not focus on mere outward change, but pursue transformation from within by having our old element replaced by the divine element of God Himself.
Dear brother, to see God, which is to gain God, we need to be pure in heart.
Our heart needs to be single – seeing only God Himself, realising that the things in the world are trash, refuse.
Both today and in the coming age of the Kingdom, we can experience and enjoy the blessing of seeing God as we are emptied in our spirit to receive Christ, with God as our reward.
For the kingdom of the heavens we need to be poor in spirit, empty in our spirit to receive Christ. We also need to be pure in heart for Christ to grow in us without frustration.
We need to be strict and righteous with ourselves, kind and merciful toward others, and pure toward God. To be pure is to be single in purpose and have a single goal in accomplishing God’s will for His glory.
The reward of having a pure heart is seeing God, gaining Him, receiving and being transformed and constituted with Him, becoming one with Him, part of Him and becoming Him.
Conversely seeing God is to abhor our self and deny our self.
This is why we need to spend time with the Lord, pray read His word, talk to Him and pray to Him, beholding the Lord and absorbing His riches.
As we end this year and welcome another year, may we give ourselves to love and enjoy the Lord. May there be more growth, more building, and more building; fresh consecration to You.
