The Resurrected Christ is Propagating Himself to bring in the Kingdom of God Today

But when they believed Philip, who announced the gospel of the kingdom of God and of the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:12

The kingdom of God is the main subject of the apostles’ preaching in the book of Acts; this is not a visible or material realm but a person, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and the churches are produced by the propagation of the resurrected Christ to be the kingdom of God on earth today. Amen!

This week, we are focusing on the matter of the Divine Trinity in the book of Acts, and also on the kingdom of God as seen in this book.

On the one hand, in the book of Acts, we see the Divine Trinity as the framework of this book, the structure of this book.

When the apostles preached and even lived and served, they were fully involved with the Divine Trinity. They spoke concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, they exercised their spirit and were filled with the Holy Spirit, and the kingdom of God the Father was spread through them.

The Divine Trinity is not merely for our theological understanding or apprehension but for our enjoyment and experience.

Today, we are learning to live in our mingled spirit so that we may live in and with the Divine Trinity in our daily life.

Praise the Lord, we believers in Christ are fully involved with the Divine Trinity, and even in our daily living and our work for the Lord, the Divine Trinity is fully involved with us and we with the Divine Trinity!

We were born of God the Father, Christ came into us, and the Spirit is with our spirit. Now we live our Christian life by learning to turn to our spirit, where we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, and we enjoy Christ, who is the embodiment of God the Father.

Even more, in our daily living, we learn to speak the word of God to others so that the Spirit would reach them and bring the life of God the Father in them.

Many times, the Spirit with our spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, not allowing us to go somewhere and do something, and He is also the Holy Spirit, forbidding us to go somewhere or say something.

As the Spirit moves in us and forbids us, not allowing us to do this or that, and leading us to a particular place, we gain more of Christ, and we speak the word of God for the bringing in of the kingdom of God.

May we be fully constituted with the Spirit and enjoy the bountiful supply of the Spirit so that in our daily living and service to the Lord, we would work one with the Lord, even allowing the Spirit to do His work in us and through us. Praise the Lord!

In this article and the next, we want to see how the kingdom of God is the main subject of the apostles’ preaching in the book of Acts, and how we need to live in the reality of the kingdom of God in the church life today.

The Resurrected Christ is Propagating Himself by the Spirit through us for the Bringing in of the Kingdom of God expressed in the Local Churches

To whom also He presented Himself alive after His suffering by many irrefutable proofs, appearing to them through a period of forty days and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God. Acts 1:3

In Acts 1:3 we see that the Lord Jesus as the resurrected Christ, appeared again and again to the disciples through a period of forty days, speaking to them the things concerning the kingdom of God.

He wanted them to understand that God wants to enlarge and expand His kingdom, and after they receive the promise of the Spirit, they would cooperate with Him for this.

The fact that Christ told them these things concerning the kingdom indicates that the kingdom would be the main subject of the apostles’ preaching in their coming commission after Pentecost.

What is the kingdom of God? According to the New Testament, the kingdom of God is not a material or visible realm; the kingdom of God is a person, the Lord Jesus Himself, who came to sow Himself as the seed of the kingdom into the people of God (Luke 17:20-21).

Establishing the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith and saying that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22 And he entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them in the things concerning the kingdom of God. Acts 19:8Christ came and preached repentance for the kingdom of God, and He came to sow Himself as the kingdom into man.

Then, He went through death and came back in His resurrection as the resurrected Christ in His ascension to propagate Himself through His disciples by the Spirit to bring in the kingdom of God expressed in the local churches.

Today, all the believers in Christ, all the genuine followers of Jesus who have been born again, are part of the propagation of Christ on the earth.

What the Lord is doing today in His ascension is mainly propagating Himself throughout the earth.

We have all been produced by the resurrected Christ in His ascension. And as we go and preach the gospel, interact with people, and speak to others, we cooperate with the Lord to be His witnesses on the earth to propagate the resurrected Christ on the earth.

The propagation of Christ in His ascension produces the churches as the expression of the kingdom of God.

The churches should not be raised up and established merely by human hands; rather, every local church must be born of Christ, brought forth by Christ’s propagation in His divine and resurrected life. Amen!

The apostles preached the gospel of the kingdom, even preaching the kingdom of God as the gospel (Acts 8:12), and when others heard the gospel and believed, they repented and were baptised to be part of the kingdom of God, expressed in the church in that locality.

Today we need to preach the gospel of the kingdom to the whole inhabited earth for a testimony before the end of this age (Matt. 24:14).

Many today preach the gospel of grace, the gospel of salvation, or even the gospel of being rescued from eternal perdition; however, the Lord wants us to preach the gospel of the kingdom so that many would be brought into the kingdom of God and become part of the propagation of Christ on earth.

The main content of our gospel should be the kingdom of God, which means that God wants to save people, regenerate them, and be born in the kingdom of God to be under the rule of God, living in the church life as the reality of the kingdom of God.

The resurrected Christ, who is propagating Himself in His ascension, by the Spirit, and through the disciples, is the reality of the kingdom of God; the kingdom of God is His expansion (Acts 1:8; 8:12).

The churches and the kingdom of God go together, for the churches are produced by the propagation of the resurrected Christ and are the kingdom of God on the earth today (Acts 14:22; 20:25).

I John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus...Saying, What you see write in a scroll and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamos and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea. Rev. 1:9, 11The reality of the kingdom of God is the resurrected Christ, who is propagating Himself through His disciples to gain an increase of Himself, an increase of the kingdom of God in man, expressed in the local churches.

We believers in Christ need to live in the church life as the reality of the kingdom of God on the earth, enjoying the Lord with the saints and propagating the resurrected Christ by preaching the gospel of the kingdom.

We are in the continuation of the book of Acts, for we’re part of the extension of Christ, the propagation of Christ, and we preach the kingdom of God as the gospel for the increase of the kingdom of God and the propagation of Christ on earth.

We live the Christian life in the church life, and we propagate Christ and expand Him to be the enlarging of the kingdom of God.

The local churches on earth are the expansion of Christ, who came to sow Himself as the seed of the kingdom of God; this is revealed in the gospels (Mark 4:3, 26).

In the Gospels, we see how Christ was the seed of the kingdom of God, and in the book of Acts we have the propagation of this seed to produce the churches as the kingdom of God. Hallelujah!

And we today in the churches are the propagation of Christ and the expansion of Christ, and we’re enlarging the kingdom of God (Rev. 1:9, 11)! Amen!

If we see this, if we realise that the resurrected Christ today is still propagating Himself by the Spirit through us for the bringing in of the kingdom of God expressed in the local churches, we will tell the Lord,

Lord Jesus, we praise You and worship You as the resurrected One and the ascended One! Hallelujah, today Christ is in His ascension propagating Himself by the Spirit through the believers in Christ for the bringing in of the kingdom of God! Thank You, Lord, that we are Your propagation today. Thank You that we are with You in the heavens and that the churches are the kingdom of God! Hallelujah, the Lord Jesus is now in the heavens and, as the exalted One, He is now propagating Himself on earth through us as His witnesses! Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit today to preach the gospel of the kingdom to the whole inhabited earth to propagate the resurrected Christ for the bringing in of the kingdom of God! We simply witness You, Lord, and we speak of You to others so that You may infuse them with all that You are and make them part of Your enlargement, Your expansion in humanity! Hallelujah, the churches today are the kingdom of God, and we live in the church life as the reality of the kingdom of God in the locality where we are! Praise the Lord!

Living the Christian Life and Church Life with the Consciousness of the Kingdom of God

Proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, unhindered. Acts 28:31

Before the Lord Jesus ascended to the heavens after His resurrection, before pouring Himself out as the all-inclusive Spirit to establish the church, He spent time with His disciples to teach them concerning the kingdom of God.

Then, after the outpouring of the Spirit as power upon the disciples, they preached the gospel, and the main subject of their preaching was the kingdom of God.

Today, we believers in Christ are the propagation of Christ, the increase of Christ, the extension of Christ, and we’re part of the kingdom of God as we live in the reality of the kingdom of God in the local churches.

The last verse of the book of Acts tells us that Paul had a rented dwelling and remained two whole years there, welcoming all who came to him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus with all boldness, unhindered (Acts 28:31).

We need to ask ourselves before the Lord, To what extent do we have a kingdom of God consciousness as we live the Christian life and church life?

Do we know that the main function or requirement of the church is to bring in the kingdom of God to the earth visibly? And do we live in the reality of the kingdom of God on earth today?

We may love being in the church life, eating, drinking, and breathing Jesus, and we love the church as our home.

Indeed, the Lord is making His home in our hearts through faith, and we apprehend with all the saints what are the universally vast dimensions of Christ (Eph. 3:14-21), to become the fullness of God.

We love the local church as our home. But do we live in the church life as the reality of the kingdom of God?

Do we live the Christian life and church life with the consciousness of the kingdom of God? Or do we just want to live freely, enjoy the Lord, do what we want, and not be ruled by the Lord’s life inwardly and by His regulation outwardly?

On the one hand, the church is the kingdom of the Son of God’s love, and we have been transferred out of darkness into this pleasant kingdom (Col. 1:12-13).

On the other hand, the gospel we heard and were saved us was the gospel of the kingdom, and the church today is the kingdom of God on the earth.

We are here as the propagation of Christ on earth to bring in the kingdom of God, and we need to exercise our spirit and open the way through our prayer and our daily living to bring the kingdom back to the earth.

How often do we preach the gospel of the kingdom? Do we pray personally and corporately that we would bring in the kingdom in our family life, our church life, our locality, and on the whole earth?

Do we join ourselves to the Lord in prayer, and are we one with the saints to pray in one accord for the kingdom to come in?

Who delivered us out of the authority of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. Col. 1:13 For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom. 14:17May we be joined to the Lord to preach the gospel of the kingdom and declare it all over the earth, and then the end will come. May there be a deep enlightening and realisation that this is what the Lord wants us to do today.

We need to have gospel meetings, we need to go out and preach the gospel, and through all these activities, we need to enlarge the kingdom of God.

We need to have the realisation that God wants to enlarge His kingdom by gaining many people who are born into His kingdom.

And we need to live in the church life by living in the kingdom of God in a practical way, having our daily living in the kingdom.

One day, we will all stand before the judgment seat and we hope and pray that, on that day, the Lord will say, Well done, good and faithful slave, enter fully into the kingdom, for you lived in the kingdom of God.

May we be the co-kings with the Lord on that day, when He returns. May we allow the Lord to deal with whatever needs to be dealt with in us in this age so that we may be fully in the kingdom of God.

Whatever He needs to deal with in our being and related to us, may we be open to Him for His dealing in this age, so that we may fully be dealt with and be qualified to enter into the manifestation of the kingdom.

It is good to be before the Lord regarding this matter, opening to Him and telling Him in all honesty,

Lord Jesus, we want to live our Christian life and church life in the reality of the kingdom of God. Grant us to have a consciousness of the kingdom of God in all we do and say. Amen, Lord, thank You for regenerating us with Your life to bring us into the realm of the kingdom of God. Hallelujah, we believers in Christ are the enlargement of Christ, the expansion of Christ, to live our Christian life in the local churches as the kingdom of God! Amen, Lord, we want to live in the reality of Your kingdom on the earth today. May we have a kingdom of God consciousness in our daily living. May our speaking and our living propagate the resurrected Christ by the Spirit for the enlargement of the kingdom of God on the earth. Yes, Lord, may Your kingdom come in our life, in our church life, and in the locality where we are. May Your kingdom come visibly on the earth, and may we live in the kingdom of God today!

Perhaps you would say that Acts has twenty-eight chapters. This, of course, is correct. However, it is also true to say that the book of Acts is still being written because the propagation of the resurrected Christ is still taking place…Even today a portion of a chapter may have been written…We in the churches are the propagation of Christ and the expansion of Christ, and we are enlarging the kingdom of God. The subject of the book of Acts is the propagation of the resurrected Christ in His ascension, by the Spirit, through the disciples, for the producing of the churches—the kingdom of God. Here three words are synonyms: propagation, churches, and kingdom. The kingdom is the churches, and the churches are the propagation of Christ. The more we are impressed with the subject of Acts, the more we will say, “Lord, we worship You as the resurrected One and the ascended One. We praise You for Your propagation. We thank You, Lord, that we are Your propagation today. We thank You that we are with You in the heavens and that the churches are the kingdom of God.” Let us declare to the whole universe that the Lord Jesus is now in the heavens and that as the exalted One, He is now propagating Himself on earth through us as His witnesses.

The Lord’s main work in His continuation in the book of Acts is to propagate Himself throughout the earth in His resurrection and ascension by the Spirit, as the seed of the Kingdom, through His disciples as His witnesses.

As this gospel of the Kingdom is spoken, announced and proclaimed churches are produced and these churches are the expansion of the Kingdom of God.

Lord, we need Your fresh appearing and speaking in these days that we would cooperate with You to proclaim the Kingdom of God for Your Kingdom to be enlarged through the producing of more local churches! Amen. We need to propagate Christ who is the seed of the Kingdom through the gospel for the expansion and enlargement of His Kingdom.

The kingdom of God is one of the matters emphasized in this book. Luke’s writing here both begins (Acts 1:3) and ends with the kingdom of God.

This book was not actually ended; rather, it was left open that more may be added. The reason for this must have been that the work of the Holy Spirit in preaching Christ for His propagation, multiplication, and spread through the believers of Christ was not yet completed and needed to be continued for a long period of time. Such an evangelistic work for Christ’s propagation, multiplication, and spread is according to God’s New Testament economy for the producing of many sons for God (Rom. 8:29) that they might be the members of Christ to constitute His Body (Rom. 12:5) for the carrying out of God’s eternal plan and the fulfillment of His eternal will. This is revealed in detail in the twenty-one Epistles and the book of Revelation, which follow this book. The church produced by Christ’s propagation and multiplication is the sphere in which God is expressed and in which He reigns in Christ; hence, the church becomes the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God, along with Christ’s propagation and multiplication, grows out of and spreads from God’s life. Acts is a record of the spreading of Christ; it is also a record of the kingdom of God, because the kingdom of God is the expansion of Christ. The gospel that is widely preached in this book is the very Christ as the gospel (Acts 5:42), the gospel of Christ, and it is also the kingdom of God as the gospel (Acts 8:12), the gospel of the kingdom of God. The preaching of such a gospel will continue and advance until the whole earth becomes the kingdom of Christ (Rev. 11:15).

In the four Gospels God was incarnated, passed through human living, died, and resurrected, thus completing Christ, the embodiment of the Triune God (Col. 2:9). In Acts this embodiment of God, as the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45), spreads Christ into His believers, i.e., works the processed Triune God into His chosen, redeemed, and transformed people to make them the constituents of the church, through which God may be expressed. The ultimate issue of the church will be the New Jerusalem in eternity future as God’s full and eternal expression, which will also be God’s eternal kingdom as the sphere in which He reigns in His divine life in eternity forever and ever. This should be the reality and goal of all gospel preaching today.

The resurrected Christ is the reality and expansion of the kingdom of God, and this kingdom today is the genuine local churches.

Our work is to enlarge Christ’s kingdom.

We should declare to the whole universe that the Lord Jesus who is in the heavens is now propagating Himself on Earth through us as His witnesses.

The kingdom of God should be the main subject of our preaching of the gospel.

Amen! Lord, grow in us.

Praise the Lord. You came to sow Yourself into us as the seed of the kingdom, and we need to continue to propagate Christ for the enlargement of the kingdom.

Today, the church is the expression of Christ, the enlargement of Christ as the kingdom of God.

May we live in the reality of the kingdom in the church life today.
