every genuine Christian is a miniature garden of Eden. Christ is God in us to make us God in Him! [picture: Gen. 2:7, source: christian-comments.com]In view of God’s good pleasure to have many sons who will be consummated as the New Jerusalem, God created man in a very special way – He formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (Gen. 2:7)!

We now have something called “spirit” in us – which the Bible says it is for man to receive God and contain Him so that man can live by God as his life (as signified by the tree of life) and everything. In Hebrew it is the same word used for both breath in Gen 2:7 and for spirit in Prov. 20:27 (where it says that the spirit of man is the lamp of Jehovah).

Even more – we were not just created with a human spirit, but God put eternity in man’s heart! In Eccl. 3:11 we see that in us there is “a divinely implanted sense of purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun, but only God, can satisfy”(the Amplified Bible).

We have in us a thirst and a hunger, a seeking, for something eternal – “we do not regard the things which are seen but the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:18).

We were created in a very special way – in God’s image and according to His likeness (Gen. 1:26), with a human spirit to contact and contain God (Gen. 2:7), and with a sense of a purpose deeply implanted into man’s heart (Eccl. 3:11)! This man created in such a way was placed by God in front of the tree of life – which signifies God, the Creator of man, to be man’s life (Gen. 2:9).

Every genuine Christian is a miniature garden of Eden. Today we the believers in Christ have a triangular situation in us – as a result of man’s fall we have Satan as the tree of knowledge in our flesh, as a result of believing in Christ we have God as the tree of life in our spirit, and our mind in our soul as our person needs to choose one of the two!

God does NOT desire for us to be good men – this means we would partake of the tree of the knowledge of GOOD (and evil); rather, God wants us to be God-men, those who partake of the tree of life and have God as their life within and their expression without!

Our goal should be to live a life that expresses God – if people see us simply as a good man, we are those who eat and express the wrong tree.

We need to give people the impression that we are a God-man – someone who is genuinely God in His nature and in His life, living the divine life in the human life!

This is why we need to eat the tree of life – not “knowledge”, but LIFE, the divine life! When we eat the tree of life, we take in the divine life and we depend on this life.

We enjoy God as life and this One is saving us dynamically within until He has a full way to live in us!

“He has redeemed us, and now He is living in us and with us to cause us to live with Him in order that we may express Him. He is God in us to make us God in Him. We do not need to exercise our mind to think so much. We need only to say, O God; O Lord; O Christ. Hallelujah, You are with me. I can live You, and I can be in You. How simple and wonderful this is!” (from, The Organic Union in God’s Relationship with Man, ch. 6).

[sharing inspired from, The God-Man Living, and the Life-Study of Genesis, as quoted in the HWMR on The Central Line of the Bible]

O, Lord! We love You! Thank You for our human spirit – the lamp of Jehovah! Thank You for mingling Yourself with our spirit! Continue saving us within in a daily way! Intensify Your organic salvation until You obtain Your New Jerusalem! We want to choose the tree of life today! We want LIFE! Save us from mere knowledge – even good knowledge. May we really enjoy You as the tree of life – until You have a way to live in us!
