since we have an affectionate love for the Lord Jesus, our tongue is like the pen of a ready writer

since we have an affectionate love for the Lord Jesus, our tongue is like the pen of a ready writer… ready to write our love for Him and our praise to Him with our experience and enjoyment of Him according to all that He is! What an utterance!

In the very first verse of Psalm 45 it says, “My heart overflows with a good matter; I speak what I have composed concerning the King. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer”.

If we love the Lord Jesus, our tongue will be like the pen of a ready writer – we don’t need to “write a draft” of our love for Him, of the things we want to say concerning Him! No draft is necessary when one loves someone and wants to declare his love!

If we have an affectionate love for the Lord Jesus, our heart is fully in love with Him, and we are ready to write our love our praise to Him…

We have been “hooked” by the Lord in His fairness

In the second verse of Psalm 45 the psalmist praises the King – which is Christ – in His fairness… This is how the Lord comes to us, in His fairness, and He captivates us with how good and loving He is.

When we see the Lord Jesus in His loveliness and in His fairness, we are “hooked” by this “tasty bait” – we just love Him! We are attracted to the Lord and we believe into Him… This is what the believers are, those who have been hooked by the Lord and who love Him…

When we love Him in such a way, our tongue is like the pen of a ready writer – we are ready to speak about Him, just like the seeker spoke about the fairness of her Beloved and she found Him as she was speaking about Him! The more we speak about Him, the more we love Him!

God restores the sons of the rebel Korah

Psalm 45 was written by the sons of Korah, together with many other deep psalms. Korah rebelled against Moses and Aaron, and together with him there were Dathan and Abiram with many other leaders of the people of Israel.

The rebellion was so great and so evil that God opened the earth and swallowed Korah, Dathan, and Abiram with the rebellious leaders… But in Num. 26:9-11 we see that the sons of Korah did not die.

The sons of the rebel were restored and recovered by God – and they composed all these amazing and deep psalms concerning God’s restoration!

This is what God loves to do – He restores those who are usurped and damaged by Satan, and He recovers the sons of the rebels that they may compose psalms to the Lord about His beauty, fairness, and His house!

The great work of God is to restore

The great work of God is to restore the desolated building of God and to recover the sons of Korah! God firstly wants to recover the local churches to be God’s building and secondly He wants to recover and restore those usurped, damaged, and left desolate by Satan.

We all are “the sons of Korah”, those who were born in rebellion and even are rebellious in ourselves. But God in His heart’s desire and His great work is recovering us and making us the members of His Body, the constitutents of the new man, and the building of God!

A Song of Love on the Melody of Lilies

Psalm 45 is a song of love composed by the sons of the rebellious Korah to God. We are those in the process of being recovered and restored from rebellion and Satan’s desolation, and we love the Lord so much for His great work in us!

We see His fairness, His loveliness, and His beauty – in our personal, intimate, spiritual, and sweet time with Him. This Psalm is about the love between us and the Lord – He loves us and made us His love, and we love Him and He becomes our love…

This makes us the simple and pure ones, living a life of purity and simplicity in loving the Lord Jesus – a life of lilies (this Psalm was written to be sang on the melody of lilies)… On the one hand, we live a life of purity and simplicity toward the Lord, and on the other hand we have an affectionate feeling for Him, loving Him with all our heart…

[sharing inspired from Christ and the Church Revealed and Typified in the Psalms (chapter 16) and the life-study of Psalms (message 19) as quoted in the Morning Revival on the Crystallization-Study of Psalms (1)]

Lord Jesus, we just love You! Thank You for captivating us – You came to us, the sons of the rebel and You restored us! You hooked us with Your beauty, and You captivated us with Your fairness… Thank You Lord for capturing us and captivating us – now we are just lilies, living a simple and pure life loving You! Our heart feels sweet whenever we think of You, dear Lord… You are the One who restores us and makes us Your building!
