You have made Him a little lower than angels and have crowned Him with glory and honor

You have made Him a little lower than angels and have crowned Him with glory and honorThe Lord Jesus was made a little lower than the angels in His incarnation – in the sense of being in the flesh. Positionally, He was still the Son of God, but in the flesh, He was made a little lower than the angels. This implies His incarnation. In His incarnation, God became a man – the One who was, is, and forever will be unlimited and infinite somehow became a man finite in time and space! His divinity was concealed in the shell of His humanity.

Christ was crowned with glory and honor

And have crowned Him with glory and honor“(Psa. 8:5) – in His resurrection and ascension, Christ was crowned with glory and honor! This also implies both His human living and His death – if there is no death, there is no resurrection or ascension. In this one verse in Psalms 8 we see all the steps of the process the Triune God went through: incarnation, human living, death, resurrection, and ascension!

In His resurrection Christ was glorified and entered into glory(John 7:39; Luke 24:26). In His ascension, Christ was brought into a position of honor – He was given the lordship and the headship over all things(Acts 2:33-36; 5:31). Praise the Lord, now Christ is in glory and He is in a position of honor – this One, who was made a little inferior to the angels, now is in glory and honor! Christ was crowned with glory (Christ’s condition in His resurrection – splendor!) and with honor(in His ascension, Christ’s position – His preciousness, referring to His worth, value, and dignity).

This Crowned and Glorified One came to visit us

This One – the God who became a man and lived a perfect life for 33 1/2 years, died an all-inclusive and all-terminating death on the cross, resurrected and was glorified, ascended and was honored – this One came to visit us, the mortal men! The first step God took to produce the babes and sucklings – those who offer Him perfected and established praise to defeat God’s enemy – is God becoming a man to visit man!

God came to visit us through His incarnation, by putting on humanity and becoming a man to be a little lower than the angels. God also visits us by living on the earth, dying, rising up from the dead, and ascending to the heavens to be crowned with glory and honor! The whole long journey of God’s process of incarnation, human living, death, resurrection, to become the life-giving Spirit – to reach us and enter into us to be our life and our everything! The life-giving Spirit as the consummation of the processed Triune God is the One who produces the babes and sucklings.

The believers are produced as babes and sucklings

Now we the believers in Christ are being produced the babes and sucklings in God’s economy – not the “seniors” or “giants of faith” – through regeneration, renewing, sanctification, transformation, conformation, building up, and glorification! In His visiting us, Christ brought heavens to earth and united the heavens to the earth; in the process we are going through today, we are joining and uniting the earth to the heavens.

This is God becoming man in incarnation to make man God in life and nature in His resurrection! Thank You Lord for coming to visit us! God became a man – a little lower than the angels! You became flesh just like us, subject to death. Praise You, Lord for Your perfect human living, Your all-inclusive death, and Your wonderful resurrection! You have been crowned with glory and honor in Your resurrection and ascension! Thank You for joining the heavens to the earth through Your incarnation. Praise You for the process You went through to become perfected and qualified to make us babes and sucklings! Produce us more today, Lord, as the babes and sucklings You need to praise You and defeat Your enemy!
