Allow Adequate Time for Prayer to Come to the Throne of Grace and Enjoy Mercy and Grace

Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving. Col. 4:2

As those who love the Lord and seek after Him, we need to have adequate times of prayer to absorb the Lord and be filled with the Spirit, and we need to come to the throne of grace to receive grace and mercy to recharge our spiritual batteries. Amen!

Three of the most wonderful and extremely important practices we need to have in our Christian life are letting the peace of Christ arbitrate in our hearts, letting the word of Christ dwell in us richly, and persevering in prayer.

We need to let the peace of Christ arbitrate in us by enthroning this peace in our hearts and allowing it to decide all things in us.

We are not those who take the way of the tree of knowledge of good and evil to decide things according to right and wrong, good and evil, but we take the way of the tree of life, letting the peace of Christ be the umpire in us.

We need to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly; this letting is not passive but aggressive, very active.

We need to actively read the word of God by contacting the Lord so that we may enjoy the wonderful functions of God’s word operating in us and we may receive the riches of Christ.

When we come to the word of God we need to have a seeking attitude; we need to seek the Lord in His word, coming to Him as we come to the word of God to read and enjoy the Lord.

The condition of our heart is very important; we need to deal with our heart before the Lord so that we may have a proper heart that receives the word of God.

If we have a shortage of the exercise of our heart, the Word of Christ cannot inhabit us so well. We must deal with anything that separates us from the Lord.

We must confess anything that would hinder us from receiving His shining.

Our confessing before the Lord under His shining deals with all the insulation between Him and us.

May we humble ourselves before the Lord as we come to His word, not trusting ourselves nor having self-confidence or self-assurance that we know what the word says.

May we let the Lord shine on us and in us in a fresh way so that any insulation between us and Him would be removed and He would infuse Himself into our being.

If we have a condition of humility in our heart when we come to the word of God, we are blessed, for the Lord will come to us and speak to us.

But if we are proud and think we know, if we do not deal with the condition of our heart, the Lord has no way to speak to us through His word.

We need to Allow Adequate Time for Prayer to Absorb the Riches of Christ and be Filled in Spirit

As therefore you have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, Having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being established in the faith even as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Col. 2:6-7 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light. Col. 1:12We need to persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving (Col. 4:2).

As believers in Christ, we are plants rooted in Christ as the real soil (see Col. 2:5-6), and we need to grow by absorbing the riches of Christ as the soil into whom we’re rooted.

All that we need to grow in life is just Christ; we were rooted in Him and we need to grow up and be built up in Him.

How can we grow? It is God who gives the growth by adding Himself into us. He must increase, and we must decrease (John 3:30).

The growth of the Body of Christ is the growth of God in us. The more we allow the Lord to grow in us, increase in us, and add Himself to us, the more the Body of Christ grows.

God gives the growth by giving Himself to us in a very subjective way.

For us to grow in life and cooperate with God so that He may give the growth, we need to allow adequate time for prayer, for it is through prayer that we absorb the Lord.

When we spend time with the Lord, we absorb Him; His riches are absorbed into us.

If we rush our time with the Lord, we cannot absorb His riches; we need to allow adequate time for prayer to enjoy the Lord.

In this age today of doing all things quickly and getting results fast, not many people take time to do something.

But we as believers in Christ need to be saved from the trend in the world today and allow adequate time for prayer so that we may absorb the riches of Christ and be filled in spirit.

Our need today is to be filled and saturated with the Spirit, and the way to do it is by spending time with the Lord in prayer.

On His side, God has prepared everything for us; on our side, we need to go to the Lord.

We need to learn how to contact the Lord in a definite and prevailing way, not merely in a routine or religious way.

Many believers in Christ love the Lord and pursue Him, but they have been praying for many years and read the Bible many times without contacting the Lord. Oh Lord Jesus!

The Lord said that we may search the Scriptures for we think that in them we find eternal life, but we need to be willing to come to Him that we may have life (John 5:39-40).

May we be saved from just coming to the word of God without contacting the Lord.

May we come to the Lord as we come to His word in a definite and prevailing way to contact Him and be filled in spirit.

Our time with the Lord in the morning is very important.

Early in the morning, before all the activities of the day begin, we need to allow adequate time for prayer, and spending time with the Lord in secret to absorb His riches.

But you, when you pray, enter into your private room, and shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you. Matt. 6:6We need to spend a definite and purposeful time with the Lord.

If we meet the Lord and are met by Him day by day, we will be filled in spirit and we can live in spirit.

When we touch the Lord in such a way as we allow adequate time for prayer, we will realize that being a Christian is being in the spirit and the Christian life is absolutely a matter in the spirit.

The Christian life is not something that is merely outward, performing something for others to see, nor is it merely a social life with the saints, the fellow believers in Christ.

The Christian life is a matter of being in the spirit and living in the spirit.

For this, we need to allow adequate time for prayer, which will enable us to absorb more of the riches of Christ as the all-inclusive land (Col. 1:12; 2:6-7; 4:2).

May we take time to absorb the Lord, contacting Him in a definite and prevailing way (Luke 8:13; Matt. 14:22-23; 6:6).

To meet with God in the morning is not only to meet with Him early in the day but to meet with God in a situation that is full of light (Prov. 4:18; Exo. 33:11; 34:3-4; Mark 1:35).

We need to go to God alone, without any persons, matters, or things that distract us or occupy us.

May we take time to behold the Lord, absorb Him, and enjoy Him; may we allow adequate time for prayer to absorb the Lord day by day and be filled in spirit.

When we come to the Lord, we are in the light; we enter into a realm of light, and He shines on us to expose anything that is not of Him.

As we remain under the Lord’s shining, there’s a revelation of what He is and an infusing of Himself into us. In this way, we are filled in spirit and we can live in spirit.

Lord Jesus, we want to allow adequate time for prayer so that we may absorb the riches of Christ and be filled in spirit! Amen, Lord, we come to You in the word of God to seek after You and receive more of You. Grant us the growth. We open to You. We just come to Your word with an open heart, being poor in spirit, to receive something fresh from You. Speak to us, dear Lord. We want to absorb more of the riches of Christ as the all-inclusive land so that we may grow with the growth of God. Teach us, Lord, how to spend time with you. We want to take time to absorb the Lord, contacting Him in a definite and prevailing way. Keep us coming to You early in the morning to meet God in a situation that is full of light. Shine on us through Your word. Shine on us and keep us in the light. Infuse us with Yourself more today and grow in us!

Prayer is the Way to Come forward to the Throne of Grace to Receive Mercy and Grace and Recharge our Spiritual Battery

Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help. Heb. 4:16 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street. Rev. 22:1When we pray, we enter into contact with God; through prayer, we enter into the Holy of Holies and approach the throne of grace (Heb. 4:16).

We all can testify that when we pray and contact the Lord, we touch the throne of grace, and we sense that we receive mercy and grace to meet our timely need.

Coming forward to the throne of grace is a matter of prayer; when we allow adequate time for prayer, we enter into the Holy of Holies and touch the throne of grace.

Many times we come to the Lord with our problems, our wants, and our needs; when we touch Him, however, we receive the flow of grace and mercy, and this meets our needs.

The Lord may not give us an answer to our prayer and He may not give us a solution to our problems, but He gives Himself to us as mercy and grace.

This flowing of mercy and grace from the throne of grace in the Holy of Holies meets our need, and is much more precious than having our prayers answered.

We may want the Lord to give us answers and to show us the solution to our problems, but what the Lord wants is to dispense Himself into us as mercy and grace for our timely need.

We need to realize that, whether or not our prayer is answered is secondary; what is primary is that grace flows like a river from the throne of grace and into our being.

How precious it is for us to touch the throne of grace! How supplying it is for us to receive mercy and find grace for the timely need!

This is what we need; we need more mercy and more grace, for mercy and grace meet our need.

And the grace we receive is not just a drop or a spoonful – it is a river of grace.

There is a river of grace flowing from the throne of grace. When we receive the river of grace, when we abide in the enjoyment of Christ as we allow adequate time for prayer, we are charged with the heavenly current.

Our spiritual battery is charged with the heavenly current when we come forward to the throne of grace and enjoy the river of grace flowing from the throne.

When we pray, approaching the throne of grace, mercy and grace will become a river flowing in us and supplying us. How rewarding this is! Receiving the flow of grace in prayer is actually more important than having our prayers answered. Whether or not our prayer is answered is secondary. The primary thing is that grace flows like a river from the throne and into our being. To receive this river of grace is to have our spiritual battery charged with heavenly current. The heavenly current, the divine electricity, is the Triune God as grace flowing out of the throne and into us. The supply and enjoyment this brings is unspeakable. Christians today are weak because their spiritual batteries are not charged. Because they are short of prayer, they are short of the heavenly transmission. Again and again during the day, we need to be charged with the divine electrical current. This surely is a reward for persevering in prayer. Life-study of Colossians, pp. 581-582, by Witness LeeMany times we are weak spiritually because our spiritual battery is depleted; we have low battery in our spiritual life because of our lack of receiving the abundance of grace.

We need to allow adequate time for prayer to come to the throne of grace and receive the flow of grace so that our spiritual battery may be charged with spiritual current.

Many Christians today are so weak because their spiritual battery is not charged; they do not enjoy the Lord as a river of grace flowing from the throne of grace.

Because they are short of prayer, they are short of the divine transmission.

May we come to the Lord again and again, coming to the throne of grace with boldness through the Lord’s precious blood so that we may receive the river of grace and charge our spiritual battery with the spiritual current.

Again and again, during the day we need to come to the Lord and contact Him, calling on His name and allowing adequate time for prayer so that we may recharge our spiritual battery.

When we pray, coming forward to the throne of grace, grace will become a river flowing in us and supplying us (Rev. 22:1).

May grace as a river flow to supply us and fill us with the Lord’s riches so that we may live Christ by receiving the abundance of grace!

Lord Jesus, forgive us for our prayerlessness. Forgive us for not coming forward to the throne of grace day by day. We want to allow adequate time for prayer so that we may come to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace. Amen, Lord, we come forward with boldness to the throne of grace. We come to You in spirit to contact You and be filled with You. We bring to You all our problems, our needs, and our desires. We just open to You. Flow in us as a river of grace! Hallelujah, grace as a river shall flow as we come to the throne of grace in our spirit! Flow in us, Lord, as a river of grace! We want to gain more of You. Only You as grace meets all our need. You are all we need! May the heavenly current flow in us and recharge our spiritual battery so that we may be enabled to live a life for the fulfilment of God’s purpose today!
