God put us in Christ as the Mold for us to Learn Christ as the Reality is in Jesus

But you did not so learn Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him as the reality is in Jesus. Eph. 4:20-21

As believers in Christ, we were put into Christ as the mold at the time of our baptism, and now we are learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus by being conformed to the image of Christ so that the living of Jesus would be duplicated in us, the members of the Body of Christ. Amen!

This week we come to a new topic in our morning revival, The God-man Living.

We are most blessed today to have the privilege to know the highest peak of the divine revelation.

It is not a small thing to know and enter into these matters.

Throughout the centuries, not many knew or heard about the reality of the Body of Christ and the matter of God becoming man to make man God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead to obtain the New Jerusalem.

These are not new inventions; these are new discoveries that the Lord granted to us from His word and with the help of some faithful brothers.

We may read concerning the high peak of the divine revelation and may think that it is so high, but we can experience it day by day and we can even become what the Lord wants us to be for the fulfillment of His purpose.

We should not be afraid or ashamed to speak the highest peak of the divine revelation, thinking that we are not there yet, that others may not understand it, or that they may misunderstand it and misinterpret it.

May we ask the Lord to guide us as the Spirit of reality into the experience of what we are enjoying and studying in His word, especially concerning the matter of the God-man living.

We need to enjoy and experience this matter, and we need to speak it to others not in the way of doctrine but in the way of experience, imparting something of the divine truth into them.

If we merely read the life-studied and recite them, without having any enjoyment and experience of what we read, we impart knowledge to others, and knowledge kills.

But if we come to the Lord and inquire of Him, read and pray over His word, and allow the Lord to touch us, deal with us, break through in us, work Himself into us, and transform us, we will have something of Christ to impart to others.

Related to the matter of the truth, we need to realize that the truth is absolute; we need to be uplifted in our experience to the standard of the truth and we should never lower this standard.

The standard of the divine Word must not be lowered to the level of our personal attainment; we should not say that the truth is too high, so we must lower it or make it more palatable, thus diluting it and lowering its standard.

We should not and we cannot tamper with the truth in any way in order to justify our own deficiencies.

We have to transcend ourselves, our own feelings, and our own interest in our speaking of the truth. The truth is the truth, and we must speak it and enter into it.

And we must pray that the Lord would uplift our experience of Christ to the level of the truth.

God put us in Christ as the Mold for us to Learn Christ as the Reality is in Jesus

For I have given you an example so that you also may do even as I have done to you. John 13:15

The desire of God’s heart is that “the reality…in Jesus” (Eph. 4:21) would be duplicated in us, the many members of the Body of Christ, by the Spirit of reality so that we may become the reality of the Body of Christ, the highest peak in God’s economy.

When we come to the matter of the God-man living, we need to realize that the first God-man who had the perfect God-man living is Jesus Christ.

The God-man living today is the reality of the Body of Christ, a corporate living by the many God-men who have been perfected to live Christ.

This is what is meant by Paul in Eph. 4:20-21 where he said, But you did not so learn Christ if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him as the reality is in Jesus.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers. Rom. 8:28-29Paul declared in Phil. 1:21 that to him to live is Christ, but here we see that we need to learn Christ. Christ came into us not only as our life but also as our pattern.

Actually, when we believed into the Lord Jesus, God put us into Christ as the mold, the pattern, and now we are learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus.

Christ didn’t just come and, after being incarnated and dying for us, came into us as the Spirit; rather, He lived a God-man life, a pattern of the God-man living for thirty-three and a half years.

He set up a pattern, a model, which is of great significance.

When Christ lived on earth, he as a man did everything in God, with God, for God, and by God.

There was reality in His living, and the reality is the truth; the truth is the light. God was expressed in everything that He did.

The unbelievers today walk in the vanity of their mind, but the Lord Jesus lived and walked in reality, and His God-man living was reality.

The New Testament gives us a unique biography of the Lord Jesus written from four directions; in His living, we see the mold of the life that can satisfy God and fulfill His purpose.

When we read the Gospels we see that the Lord Jesus lived a particular kind of life; He lived one with God to express God, do the work of God, speak the word of God, and seek the glory of God.

Then, He was crucified on the cross, entered into resurrection, and came into us to be our life. Now He is in us and we are in Him.

Christ is both our life and also our example (John 13:15; 1 Pet. 2:21), and we learn from Him (Matt. 11:29).

We are learning from Christ according to His example, not by our natural life but by Him as our life.

1 Cor. 1:30 says that it is of God that we are in Christ Jesus. God put us in Christ; when we were baptized, we were baptized into Christ, put into Him as the mold (Rom. 6:3; Gal. 3:27).

Just as a baker shapes the dough into the form of a mold, so God intends to form us into the mold of Christ.

After Christ established the pattern, He was crucified, and then He entered into resurrection, becoming in resurrection the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45). It is as the Spirit that He comes into us to be our life. We have pointed out that at the time we believed in Christ and were baptized in Him, God put us into Him as the pattern, the mold. Therefore, Paul could tell the Ephesians that they “did…learn Christ.” According to the light of the New Testament and according to our experience, to learn Christ is to be placed into Christ by God. On God’s side, He has put us into Christ. On our side, we have learned Christ by being put into Him. Life-study of Ephesians, pp. 393-394, by Witness LeeGod desires to conform us to the image of Christ, the Firstborn Son of God, so that He may be reproduced and duplicated in us (Rom. 8:29).

We were put into Christ as the mold, the pattern, and now we need to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus by putting off the old man and putting on the new man.

We were buried into Christ and have been brought out of Adam and the old creation.

We learned Christ when we were buried into Him in baptism; Christ is the mold, and we’re molded into the pattern set up by Him during His years on earth. This is amazing!

The four Gospels show the pattern of the life that God desires, the mold of the life that can satisfy God and fulfill His purpose.

Jesus lived a life in which He did everything in God, with God, and for God, for God was in His living, and He was one with God.

This is the reality in Jesus, and we’re learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus by being molded into the pattern of Christ to be conformed to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:28-29; Eph. 4:20-21).

After Christ established the pattern of a God-man life, He was crucified and entered into resurrection, and He became the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45).

Now as the Spirit He comes into us to be our life. God put us into Him as the pattern, and we are learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus so that we may live in the same way that He lived.

May we daily learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus so that we may be molded into His pattern and be conformed to the image of Christ, the firstborn Son of God.

Thank You, Lord, for putting us in Christ at the time of our baptism. Hallelujah, it is of God that we are in Christ Jesus, who is not only our life but also our pattern! Amen, Lord, we want to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus. We want to learn Christ day by day so that we may be molded into the pattern of Christ. We have heard Christ and are being taught in Him as the reality is in Jesus. Oh Lord, we want to follow in Your steps, for You are our pattern. We want to live the same kind of life that You lived. Only Your life and living can satisfy God and fulfil His purpose. We want to live a life in which we do everything in God, with God, and for God. May God be in our living and may we be one with God in everything we do, say, and work. Amen, Lord, conform us to Your image a little more today. Keep us learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus so that You may gain the reality of the Body of Christ!

Being Perfected by the Lord to be God-men Living by the Divine Life and Denying our Natural Life according to the Model of Christ

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered on your behalf, leaving you a model so that you may follow in His steps. 1 Pet. 2:21 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matt. 11:29Being a Christian doesn’t merely mean that you believe that God exists or that Christ died for our sins; it is much more than that.

Being a Christian, a genuine believer in Christ, means that we have Christ in us as life and we are in Christ as the model, the pattern, the mold for our daily life.

As Christians, we can’t just live the way we want to live. Others can do this and that according to their desire, but we are in Christ as the mold of our life, and we are being conformed to the image of Christ.

We are being perfected by the Lord to be God-men, those who live by the divine life by denying their natural life according to the model of Christ as the first God-man (Matt. 11:29; 17:5; 1 Pet. 2:21).

Christ came into us to be our life and God put us in Christ as the mold; we are now learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus, for we’re being perfected by the Lord to be God-men.

The characteristic of the life the Lord Jesus lived was that He always denied Himself; He didn’t just deny Himself once and for all at the end when He went to the cross but He did this throughout His life.

He had a perfect human life, but He chose to deny His natural life and live by the life of the Father.

Christ lived in the reality of His baptism; through baptism, He declared that His natural life is good for nothing except death and burial, and He lived in that reality.

He did not do anything from Himself, nor did He speak His own words or do His own will.

Everything He did was in oneness with the Father. In His life on earth, Christ set up a pattern as revealed in the four gospels.

Then, He was crucified and resurrected to become the life-giving Spirit so that He might enter into us to be our life.

May we learn from Christ according to His example, not by our natural life but by Him as our life in resurrection.

As believers in Christ, we love the Lord and contact Him, and we love to read the Bible.

The Gospels in particular reveal to us the pattern of Christ as the first God-man.

When we read the four Gospels, there’s a spontaneous desire in us to be a testimony for the Lord and live the same kind of life that He did.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God... 1 Cor. 1:30 So then if anyone is in Christ, [he is] a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, they have become new. 2 Cor. 5:17 To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Col. 1:27 I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Gal. 2:20But we either ignore this desire or we try hard and fail, for in ourselves we can’t do it.

We are not here to imitate Christ outwardly and try harder to do what He did and live the way He lived; we’re here learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus, being perfected by the Lord to be God-men.

We need to open to the Lord day by day to be perfected by Him to live like the Lord Jesus lived, denying our natural life and living by the divine life in our spirit.

We are in Christ and Christ is in us. We have been put into Christ as the mold, and He is in us as the life to replicate Himself and live the same kind of life in us.

Our Christian life is a life in Christ and also a life of Christ in us (1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:17; 12:2a; Col. 1:27; Gal. 2:20; Rom. 8:10).

We are in Christ as the mold and He is in us as our life. In this way of Him in us and us in Him, we learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus, and this reality is the reality of the Body of Christ.

May we realize that our Christian life is the living of Christ in us and our living in Christ.

We’re in Christ and Christ is in us; He is our life within to be our living without, and we’re learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus.

Lord Jesus, we open to Your perfecting to make us God-men living the divine life by denying our natural life. Amen, Lord, we want to follow Your pattern as the first God-man. We take You as our life within and we want to live You out in our daily life. We aspire to live the same kind of life as You did. Oh Lord, how we love and appreciate You in what You are, what You have done, and the way You lived. We want to live the same way that You did. Conform us to Your image. We put our natural life aside and we want to live the divine life so that Christ may live in us today. We do not want to do anything from ourselves or by ourselves; we turn to You and we want to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus. May we realize that our Christian life is a life in Christ and also a life of Christ in us! Live in us today, Lord Jesus!

By means of baptism God has put us into Christ, who is the pattern. To be baptized is to be placed into Christ as the mold. Both Romans 6:3 and Galatians 3:27 speak of being baptized into Christ. To be baptized into Christ is to be buried into Him. The tomb of this baptism is the pattern, the mold. In God’s eyes, we were put into this mold when we were baptized. Through being placed into the mold, we have put off the old man and have put on the new man. By being buried into Christ, we have been brought out of Adam and the old creation. By baptism we have been put into Christ, who is both our life and our pattern. This explains why Paul uses the past tense in speaking about learning Christ. We learned Christ when we were buried into Him in baptism. This means that to learn Christ is to be put into Christ as the mold. It is to be molded into the pattern set up by Him during His years on earth.

Christ is not only our life but also our pattern, and He’s the mold into which we were put when we were baptized.

We are now learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus.

We are in the process of being conformed to the image of Christ.

Oh Lord, keep us in You as the mold today. Conform us to Your image. We want to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus. Be expressed through us!

We were saved by Christ entering into us in resurrection as our life and our pattern and by being put into Christ by God as the mold!

God intends to form us into the mold of Christ that we would be conformed to the image of Christ.

Lord keep us learning to deny our natural life, by learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus, we love You, we open to You! Lord may we arrive corporately to this reality!

The New Testament reveals that Jesus didn’t come into us as life directly.

Over 33.5 years, He established a pattern and a mould for us to follow.

The 4 Gospels reveal the manner of life that God desires, the kind of life that satisfies Him and fulfills His purpose.

It’s in resurrection that Jesus came into us, but before that we can learn Him by His manner of life.

When God put us into Christ, He put us into the mould. God’s intention is to form us into the mould of Christ.

As the firstborn, Christ is the pattern, and as the many brothers we are to be conformed to this pattern.

To “learn” Christ is simply to be conformed to His image.

To be baptised is to be placed into Christ as our mould. By being buried into Christ, we are brought out of Adam and the old creation.

On God’s side, He has put us into Christ. On our side, we have learned Christ by being put into Him. Hallelujah for the up-to-date ministry.

What a mercy that Christ came into us to be our life!

However, we need to learn Christ according to the pattern of His God-man living – a crucified and resurrected life – as revealed in the four gospels – the biography of Jesus revealed in four directions.

Such a living can be duplicated in us, not by our natural man, but by Christ as the life-giving Spirit, the Spirit of Reality as resurrection in us.

O Lord we want to learn from You that You may duplicateYour living in us – the reality as in Jesus – to be those in You and of You!

The reality is in Jesus refers to the actual condition of the life of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels. In the godless walk of the nations, the fallen people, there is vanity. But in the godly life of Jesus there is truth, reality. Jesus lived a life in which He did everything in God, with God, and for God. God was in His living, and He was one with God. This is what is meant by the reality is in Jesus. We, the believers, who are regenerated with Christ as our life and are taught in Him, learn from Him as the reality is in Jesus.
