The Church is Produced and Built by Christ’s Blood and His Unbreakable Eternal Life

And Jehovah God built the rib, which He had taken from the man, into a woman and brought her to the man. Gen. 2:22

The church is produced and built up by the Lord’s shed blood and His unbreakable and indestructible eternal life, which flowed out of Him when He was on the cross, for only that which comes out of Christ built up with His resurrection life can match Him to be His counterpart, the church. Hallelujah!

How wonderful it is that we can see the organic blueprint of God’s architectural plan in Genesis 1 and 2 and a clear photograph of the fulfilment of God’s plan in Revelation 21-22!

What God desires to gain is the same thing from the beginning to the end; He wants to gain a building, the bride of Christ as the building of the Triune God.

He created man in His image and according to His likeness so that He may gain a corporate man filled with His life, mature in His life, transformed, glorified, and built up to be the bride of Christ, His counterpart.

For God and us to be one, for God and His people to be one, there must be a mutual love between them. What we see in the Bible is not just people who were led by the Spirit and who obeyed God to do great works for Him; what the Bible shows us is the love between God and His people.

God is the eternal, universal Husband, and we as His people are His wife, His bride. When a woman falls in love with her husband-to-be, she is smitten and does many things out of love for him; it is the same with a man who falls in love.

We human beings are to be the bride of Christ, and when we hear the gospel, we simply fall in love with the Lord Jesus who came to die for us and to love us to the uttermost.

Our entire Christian life is a romantic life with the Lord Jesus, our dear Bridegroom. We do not see Him, but we love Him; we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, for we enjoy Him, we touch Him, and we partake of His riches in spirit.

As we read the Bible, especially the first two chapters of Genesis, we see what God did in order to produce a counterpart for Himself.

Genesis chapter 2 in particular reveals a picture of Christ and His bride in the types of Adam and Eve.

Adam typifies Christ as the real Husband, the universal Husband, who is seeking a wife for Himself. Eve typifies the church as the wife, the bride of Christ.

How was Eve produced? How did Eve come into being? According to Genesis 2, Eve was not created but built with something that came out of Adam, and she came to him to be his counterpart.

It is the same with the church; the church was produced with something that came out of Christ and is presented to Christ to be His counterpart.

The Church is Produced and Built by Christ’s Shed Blood and His Unbreakable Eternal Life

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water. John 19:34

In Genesis 2:22 we read that Jehovah God built the rib, which He had taken from the man, into a woman and brought her to the man. God didn’t create the woman; He built her. Very interesting.

This is the first building in the Bible; it is the building of the bride, the wife. The rib taken out of Adam’s opened side typifies the unbreakable life of Christ, the indestructible eternal life of Christ (see Heb. 7:16; John 19:32-33, 36; Exo. 12:46; Psa. 34:20).

This life flowed out of His pierced side (John 19:34) when He was on the cross, and it imparts life to His believers for the producing and building up of the church as His counterpart.

As Adam slept, for God caused a deep sleep to fall on him, God took out one of his ribs and built a woman and brought her to the man.

Adam’s sleep is a type of Christ’s death on the cross; while He was on the cross, none of the Lord’s bones was broken, but a soldier pierced His side and out flowed blood and water.

The Lord gave His human life to redeem us and to gain the church; He died as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world, and He also died to redeem and gain the church.

Out of Christ’s side came blood and water, but all that came out of Adam’s side was the rib without blood.

This is because, at Adam’s time, there was no sin, so there was no need for redemption, while at the Lord’s time, sin came in, and redemption was needed.

At Adam’s time, there was no need for redemption through the blood, because there was no sin.

By the time Christ was “sleeping” on the cross, there was the problem of sin, and the blood that came out of Christ’s side was for our judicial redemption.

The goal is to obtain the bride; the way the Lord took to obtain the bride is by shedding His blood for our redemption and by flowing out His unbreakable eternal life for our regeneration and building up.

Following the blood, the water came out, which is the flowing life of God for our organic salvation (Exo. 17:6; 1 Cor. 10:4; Num. 20:8).

This divine, flowing, uncreated life is typified by the rib taken out of Adam’s side (Rom. 5:10). Blood for our redemption, water for our organic salvation; blood and water, a double cure.

Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Pet. 1:3By the blood of Christ, we are redeemed and cleansed from our sins; by His unbreakable eternal life we are regenerated and saved organically in His life to be built up as His bride. Praise the Lord!

We need to see this and even have a vision of what the church is in God’s eyes; the church is not just the gathering of God’s called out ones, but much more, the church is produced and built up by Christ’s shed blood and His unbreakable eternal life flowing out of the crucified Christ.

We as believers in Christ were regenerated by God in the resurrection of Christ (1 Pet. 1:3); we were redeemed by the blood of Christ shed on the cross, and we were regenerated by His divine life.

Even more, today as we live our Christian life, we continually apply the precious blood of Christ to anything that His light exposes as sin, and we open to the Lord to receive, enjoy, and flow out the divine life, even the unbreakable eternal life of Christ. Wow!

Our human life is breakable and one day will end; Christ’s life, however, is unbreakable, eternal, and in resurrection.

Just as Eve came out of Adam and was produced only with the element of Adam, returning to Adam to be his wife as his counterpart, so the church comes out of Christ, being built only with the element of Christ and matching Christ as His wife.

When we see this, we will praise the Lord for the church, and we will open to Him, learning to apply His blood for our cleansing and washing, and we will open to Him to allow Him to flow in us as life, even to grow in us as life for our organic salvation and building up.

Lord Jesus, praise You for Your death on the cross for the shedding of Your blood for our redemption and the release of Your life for our regeneration! Hallelujah, Christ produced the church through His shed blood and His unbreakable eternal life flowing out of Him on the cross! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for dying for our redemption; thank You for shedding Your blood to cleanse us from our sins, wash us, and redeem us back to God. Thank You for flowing out Your unbreakable eternal life for our regeneration and building up! Hallelujah, we believers in Christ were regenerated by God in the resurrection of Christ! Praise the Lord, through His death and resurrection, Christ produced and built up the church as His bride! Wow, Lord, grant us to have a proper appreciation of Your death and resurrection. We come to You day by day and apply Your precious blood and partake of Your unbreakable eternal life so that we may be built up as the church, the bride of Christ!

The Church is the Totality of Christ in All His Believers: other than Christ’s Element, there should be No other Element in the Church

Because we are members of His Body. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak with regard to Christ and the church. Eph. 5:30-32Adam was created by God in His image and according to His likeness; Eve, however, was not created but rather, she was built.

The building of Eve with the rib taken from Adam’s side typifies the building up of the church with the resurrection life released from Christ through His death on the cross and imparted into His believers in His resurrection (John 12:24; 1 Pet. 1:3).

The Lord Jesus prophesied concerning this and yearned for this; He said that the grain of wheat must die so that it may produce many grains, and He yearned to release the fire of the divine life on the earth.

The church as the bride of Christ, His counterpart, was produced through Christ’s death and resurrection and is built up with Christ’s resurrection life. Today the church is the real Eve; the church is the totality of Christ in all His believers (Gen. 5:2; Eph. 5:32-35).

The church is of Christ, and other than Christ’s element, there should be no other element in the church. Eve came out of Adam, for she was built with the element of Adam; the church comes out of Christ, and apart from Christ’s element, there should be no other element in the church.

Eve was the reproduction of Adam; the church is the reproduction of Christ. Eve was the increase of Adam; the church is the increase of Christ.

Adam and Eve are a type of the church (Eph. 5:30-32; Gen. 2:22-24). When Christ died on the cross, he terminated the entire old creation, for His death was an all-inclusive death. Then, in His resurrection, he produced the church.

The church is a new creation created in Christ’s resurrection and by the resurrected Christ. May we see that the church is in Christ’s resurrection and even in His ascension (Eph. 2:6). Hallelujah!

May we realise that the church today is the real Eve, being the totality of Christ in all His believers, the reproduction of Christ. And may we apply this to our Christian life and church life today.

In our daily living and in the church life, we may still live in the natural man and according to the flesh, expressing the self and the natural man.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Gen. 2:24 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who is thirsty come; let him who wills take the water of life freely. Rev. 22:17Peter did this; when the Lord said that He will go to the cross and die, and then He would be resurrected, Peter rebuked him.

Instead of the Lord appreciating Peter’s natural care for the Lord, He told Peter, You are a snake, for Satan was expressed through your words! Wow!

In the church life, we may express something other than Christ; if there is no expression of the Christ living in us, what we are and do does not match Christ and is not the counterpart of Christ.

In all we do and say in the family life, in our daily life, and in the church life, we need to consider what is the source.

We may have a genuine care and concern for the Lord and for the saints, but it may be our natural man that is expressed. Oh, Lord!

What is the source of our speaking? What is the source of our doing, visiting, and preaching? Is Christ the source, or is the source only our natural man, our zeal for the Lord, and our desire to please God?

Some saints may be very burdened to gain an increase in the church life from among the young people, and our of their genuine desire to gain more people, they may bring in some worldly methods and ways to reach the young ones. Oh, Lord.

Some saints may want to “improve the meeting” and “update our meeting style” to make it more attractive to the young ones; they may even bring in something that they learned at work in their team-building sessions.

In a sense, these things are not evil or wrong, but they may be natural, and the source is not Christ.

We want to gain the increase, but we want Christ to be the source. We want to gain more young ones, but it has to come out of the unbreakable eternal life of Christ in us flowing out, not by any natural means or worldly entertainment.

We want the church to increase, but we cannot use worldly ways, and we need to be pure in our motives.

And the man said, This time this is bone of my bones / And flesh of my flesh; / This one shall be called Woman / Because out of Man this one was taken. Gen. 2:23 Male and female He created them, and He blessed them and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created. Gen. 5:2The first and the last lesson we need to learn is to discern the source of things; what is the source of what we are doing – is it Christ with His life, or is it just our natural desire, preference, and ambition?

May we be faithful to the Lord and enjoy His resurrection life, even partake of His life and live out His life so that the church may be produced to be holy, without spot or blemish, to match Christ in every way.

Only that which comes out of Christ with His resurrection life can be His complement as His bride (1 Cor. 12:12; Eph. 2:6; 5:28-30); the church is a pure product out of Christ; the church is “Christly,” “resurrectionly,” and heavenly.

The church is of resurrection – she is resurrectionly. The church is out of heaven – she is heavenly. The church is out of Christ – she is Christly. Amen!

Adam and Eve, being one, lived a married life together as husband and wife (Gen. 2:24-25); this portrays that in the New Jerusalem, the processed and consummated Triune God as the universal Husband will live a married life with the redeemed, regenerated, transformed, and glorified humanity as the wife, forever (Rev. 22:17a).

In the eternity that is without end, by the divine, eternal, and surpassingly glorious life, they will live a life that is the mingling of God and man as one spirit, a life that is superexcellent and that overflows with blessings and joy. This is our destiny.

And today we are learning to live by the divine life, in the resurrection life, and one with the Lord to match Him, be His counterpart, as we are built up with the saints!

Lord Jesus, cause us to see that only that which comes out of Christ with His resurrection life can be His complement as His bride! May we realise that the church is a pure product out of Christ, built up with the unbreakable life of Christ! Amen, Lord, we give ourselves to You. Build Yourself into our being. Infuse us with Your life. Keep us enjoying Your unbreakable eternal life. May we take You as our source in all things. Save us from bringing anything natural into the church life. Save us from expressing ourselves, even our natural concern and care for the saints. May we come to You, enjoy You, apply Your blood, and allow Your life to initiate all things, flow out through us, and be manifested in us. Amen, Lord, may all we speak, all we do, and everything about us for the building up of the church as a pure product out of Christ! Gain the church as Your reproduction, Your multiplication, Your bride! Praise the Lord, in eternity that is without end, we will live a life that is the mingling of God and man as one spirit, a life that is superexcellent and that overflows with blessings and joy! Praise the Lord!

During Adam’s sleep, God took one of his ribs from his side. Likewise, when Christ was sleeping on the cross, something came out of His side. John 19:34 tells us that when the soldier pierced His side, out came blood and water. At Adam’s time there was no sin, so there was no need of redemption. It was not until Genesis 3 that sin came in. Thus, all that came out of Adam’s side was the rib without the blood. However, by the time that Christ was sleeping on the cross, there was the problem of sin. Thus, His death must deal with this sin problem. The blood came out of Christ’s side for redemption. Following the blood, the water came out, which is the flowing life to produce the church. This divine, flowing, uncreated life is typified by the rib taken out of Adam’s side. The rib taken out of Adam signifies the resurrection life, and God built a woman with the rib of Adam. Now God builds up the church with the resurrection life of Christ…Eve was bone of Adam’s bones and flesh of Adam’s flesh. Today we as the church are a part of Christ (Eph. 5:30-32).

Praise the Lord, brother, for the Lord’s death and resurrection to produce the church as His bride, His counterpart!

He shed His blood for our redemption and He imparted His life for our regeneration and building up.

Only that which comes out of Christ with His resurrection life can be His complement as His bride.

The church is a pure product out of Christ – the church is Christly, resurrectionly, and heavenly!

Oh Lord, work Yourself into us a little more today. Remove any natural element. May our constitution be purely out of Christ, in resurrection, and heavenly! Amen!

Dear brother, We may say that today, the church is “Christly,” “resurrectionly,” and heavenly.

The church is of Christ; the church is of resurrection; the church is of the heavens. The church is Christly, resurrectionly,

The church is of Christ; the church is of resurrection; the church is of the heavens. The church is Christly, resurrectionly, and heavenly.

Such a vision will govern you to the uttermost and will rule out everything that is not Christly (of Christ), resurrectionly (of resurrection), or heavenly (of the heavens). Hallelujah for such a vision!

Lord Jesus, increase this vision in us!

It does not say that Eve was created but that she was built. The building of Eve with the rib taken from Adam’s side typifies the building of the church with the resurrection life released from Christ through His death on the cross and imparted into His believers in His resurrection (John 12:24; 1 Pet. 1:3). The church as the real Eve is the totality of Christ in all His believers. Only that which comes out of Christ with His resurrection life can be His complement and counterpart, the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12; Eph. 5:28-30). Gen. 2:22 footnote 1 on, built.

At the end of the Bible is a city, New Jerusalem, the ultimate and eternal woman, the corporate bride, the wife of the Lamb (Rev. 21:9; 22:17), built with three precious materials (Rev. 21:18-21), fulfilling for eternity the type shown in this chapter. Thus, in type all the precious materials mentioned in vv. 11-12 are for the building of the woman (see note 1 on Gen. 2:12). Gen. 2:22 footnote 2 on, woman.

The church is the real Eve being the totality of Christ in all His believers.

As Eve, the church is the reproduction of Christ; other than Christ’s element, there should be no other element in the church.

Only that which comes out of Christ with His resurrection life can be His complement as His bride.

The church is nohing more than a pure product out of Christ; the church is “Christly,” “resurrectionly,” and heavenly.

Lord grant is such a clear vision of the church. May this vision govern us and control us in our daily living.

Rule out anything not Christ, not heavenly, not resurrectionly.

Whatever the outward environment, we as the church are in Christ, in resurrection, and in ascension in the heavenlies.

Just as God built Eve from a rib taken out of Adam’s side, so also He is building the church with the blood and flowing life that came out of Christ whilst He slept on the cross.

Today’s reading shows how to see the intrinsic significance behind the words on the pages of the Bible.

Just as Eve was a full reproduction of Adam, so the church is of one element — the element of Christ.

In our daily practical church life, we must rule out anything that is not Christly, resurrectionly and heavenly.

The reality of the church is a matter in Christ, in resurrection, and in Christ’s ascension in the heavenlies.
