The Fourfold Effectiveness of the Precious Blood of Christ as the Sin Offering

Eph. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of offenses, according to the riches of His grace.Hallelujah for the blood of Christ as the sin offering, which satisfies God, is our standing in prayer, brings us into God’s presence, is effective for our redemption, and constantly flows to cleanse us from every sin!

Praise the Lord for the precious blood of Christ as the sin offering which is eternally effective!

If we read Lev. 4 carefully we will see not only our need for Christ as the sin offering, but also the law of the sin offering, which indicates that we need to not only enjoy Christ but also follow the specific rules God has ordained in enjoying and applying Christ.

Paul speaks of these rules or regulations when he says concerning the fact that neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is what matters, but a new creation; therefore, as many as walk by this rule, peace be upon them and mercy – even upon the Israel of God (Gal. 5:15-16).

We need to follow the rule of the new creation and allow it to regulate us all the time, whether we are awake or at sleep.

In particular concerning the sin offering, it had to be slaughtered before Jehovah (Lev. 4:4, 15, 24), which indicates that Christ as the sin offering was slaughtered before God, and He was recognised and accepted by God (Isa. 53:10).

Then, the priest had to bring the bull or lamb and the offerer had to lay his hands on its head, and the priest shall slaughter the animal before Jehovah.

Following this, God ordained in a specific way what to do with every part of the offered animal: the blood had to be put in four particular places, the top portion had to be burned on the altar completely for God, and a portion was also given to the offerer to enjoy before God.

It is very significant to see that the blood was first sprinkled seven times before Jehovah in front of the veil of the sanctuary, then some of it was put upon the horns of the incense altar, some of it was put on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and the rest of it was poured at the base of the altar.

Furthermore, the sin offering was enjoyed in its top portion by God through fire, but some of it was also shared with the offerer to enjoy. Christ in His top portion, in His work of redemption, is firstly enjoyed by the Father, then we also partake of Him and enjoy Him.

Today we want to see the preciousness of the blood of Christ as the sin offering, what it accomplished, and how we can apply and enjoy it. There are four aspects or four kinds of effects of the blood, which are denoted by the four places where the blood was taken.

The Blood of Christ as the Sin Offering has been Brought into the Holy of Holies in the Heavens for our Redemption

Heb. 9:12 And not through the blood of goats and calves but through His own blood, entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, obtaining an eternal redemption. The first place where some of the blood of the sin offering was taken was into the Tent of Meeting, and it was sprinkled seven times before Jehovah in front of the veil of the Holy of Holies (see Lev. 4:5-6, 16-17).

This signifies that the blood of Christ has been brought into the Holy of Holies in the heavens for our redemption (Heb. 9:12).

We may think that since we have a problem with God, we need Christ as our sin offering, and the blood should be applied to us first, but in God’s eyes the blood of Christ as the sin offering is first for His satisfaction in the heavens.

Praise the Lord, it is not through the blood of goats or calves that Christ made redemption for us, but by His own blood, thus obtaining an eternal redemption!

The shedding of the blood, though it is judicial in nature and not organic, is vitally necessary for our salvation, for without the blood of Christ as the sin offering, we cannot experience God’s organic salvation.

First of all, Christ entered once for all in the Holy of Holies and sprinkled His blood, obtaining an eternal redemption. The blood was sprinkled in front of the veil in the Holy of Holies for God to see – not for us to see.

When He sees the blood, He passes over us, and He forgives us and can cleanse us. When God sees the blood, we are freed, we are released from sin, and we can come to God, be joined to God, and fellowship with God.

When God sees the blood, He can bring us into oneness with Him, and He can mingle Himself with us, because of the blood of the Son!

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your blood which was sprinkled before God for our redemption! Hallelujah, the precious blood of Christ as the sin offering satisfies God, makes God happy, and causes God to be at peace with us! Lord, based on Your blood shed on the cross and sprinkled before God we can now worship God, be joined to God, and fellowship with God. Hallelujah for the blood of Christ shed for our redemption!

We can Come into God’s Presence through the Blood of Christ to Contact God in Prayer

Heb. 10:19 Having therefore, brothers, boldness for entering the Holy of Holies in the blood of Jesus. Some of the blood of the sin offering was put on the horns of the incense altar in the Holy Place (Lev. 4:7, 18). This signifies that the redemption by Christ’s blood is effective for us to be brought into God’s presence through contacting God in prayer.

First the blood is for God to see and be satisfied, then this blood is effective in bringing us into God’s presence through contacting God in prayer. At the incense altar we contact God through prayer to have communion with Him.

Because of the blood of Christ, our prayers are accepted before God. How can we, sinners, come forward to God to pray, intercede, and fellowship with Him? It is only based on the blood of Christ.

None of us has any merit before God; we cannot pray acceptable prayers to God, and we have no other standing before God but the precious blood of Christ as the sin offering. Only the blood of Christ satisfies God and qualifies us to pray to God and contact Him.

Every time we pray we need to stand on the blood of Christ, apply the blood of Christ, and see our need for the blood. We need the blood of Christ every time we come to contact God.

We want to have an unobstructed and open fellowship with God in an unhindered way, in the light, so we need the blood to cleanse us, for us to be washed from every sin.

Lord, we come to You based on the precious blood of Christ to fellowship with You. We need the blood of Christ as the sin offering, and we stand on this blood as we contact God in prayer. Lord, cleanse us with Your blood. Your blood is our standing. Your blood is our unique merit. We have no other stand, and we have no merit in ourselves. Lord Jesus, we want to walk in the light and allow Your blood to cleanse us from every sin!

The Blood of Christ as our Sin Offering is Effective for our Redemption

1 Pet. 1:18-19 Knowing that it was not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, that you were redeemed from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot, the blood of Christ. Some of the blood of the sin offering was put on the horns of the altar of burnt offering (Lev. 4:25, 30, 34); this signifies that the blood of Christ is effective for our redemption (see Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-19).

Christ didn’t redeem us with corruptible things such as silver and gold, but with precious blood as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot, the blood of Christ.

In Him we have redemption, and through His blood, we have the forgiveness of offenses, according to the riches of His grace.

God accomplished redemption for us in Christ through His blood.

This is a fact, and today whenever someone believes into the Lord, this eternally effective redemption of Christ is being applied to him by faith! Hallelujah! The same blood that was taken before God for His satisfaction is effective for our redemption.

Hallelujah, we are redeemed, and we love to proclaim this – we are redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb of God!

Christ as the Lamb of God shed His blood to redeem us, and His blood is eternally effective!

The Blood of Christ was Poured at the Cross for the Peace in our Conscience, Assuring us that we are Redeemed and Accepted by God!

Heb. 9:14 How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?The rest of the blood of the sin offering was poured out at the base of the altar of the burnt offering (see Lev. 4:7, 18, 25, 30, 34).

This signifies that the blood of Christ was poured out at the cross for the peace in our conscience, assuring us that we are redeemed and accepted by God (see Heb. 9:14).

The blood of Christ as the sin offering was poured out as a river, and now there is a fountain of blood, a river of blood, that flows unceasingly to cleanse us all the time in our experience.

How can we have peace in our conscience, when we sin so much, and when we realize that we have an indwelling sin? It is only by the precious blood of Jesus, which flows for cleansing us all the time.

The blood of Christ has been poured out, it has been sprinkled, and today we have a blood-purified conscience. This blood washes us from any dead works so that we can come directly in contact with the living God.

Based on the blood of Christ, we can serve God, worship Him, and be one with Him. Praise the Lord, the atonement is made. Hallelujah, propitiation is accomplished, and expiation is done.

Now we are free to come into the presence of the King by applying the flowing blood of Christ shed for our redemption and for all our sins!

Now we can simply confess our sins as the Lord shines on us, and we can apply the precious blood of Christ as the sin offering, and we are washed, cleansed, and purified, and we can come forward to God based on the precious blood of Christ! Hallelujah!

Praise You Lord for Your precious blood which accomplished propitiation for us. Hallelujah, the precious blood of Christ flows to cleanse us, wash us, and purify our conscience, so that we may contact God in an atmosphere of peace and acceptance! Thank You Lord for shedding Your blood. May we have a blood-purified conscience. May we be washed from dead works so that we may serve and contact the living God. Hallelujah, we can come into the presence of God because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ!

Hallelujah, We can now Walk According to the Spirit and not according to the Flesh!

Rom. 8:3-4 For that which the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending His own Son in the likeness of the flesh of sin and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit. The result of Christ being our sin offering and condemning sin in the flesh is that now we can walk according to the spirit – and not according to the flesh (Rom. 8:3-4)! Hallelujah!

Because Christ is our sin offering, He removed all the problems and He condemned sin in the flesh; now we are not bound by the flesh anymore, we are no longer under the law, but we can walk according to the Spirit!

Hallelujah, we can now be free – we can walk by the Spirit and be those who live a sinless life, a life that Christ lived! We can live Christ!

Yes, the flesh is still with us, and the flesh is the uttermost expression of the tripartite man.

But praise the Lord, the Spirit is the ultimate realization of the processed Triune God!

And because of Christ’s redemption and the Spirit’s work of regeneration, we who have received God’s dispensing can now walk by the Spirit instead of walking by the flesh.

Praise the Lord, we as believers in Christ have the all-inclusive, life-giving Spirit in our spirit, and we can now live, walk, and have our being in the mingled spirit! Praise the Lord!

Concerning Christ as the sin offering, there is a portion that is only for God, and there is a portion for us to share. The top portion is for God’s enjoyment. God made Christ a propitiation for sinners, and we have no share in this….However, when we preach Christ to others, ministering Him as the sin offering, we can share Him. Thus, God has His part, and we have our part.

These regulations concerning the sin offering are called “the law of the sin offering” [6:25]. This indicates that even in the enjoyment of Christ, we must go along with all the regulations in life. We should not have our own choice in the way to enjoy Christ. We must enjoy Christ in the way chosen by God.

Galatians 6:15 and 16 say, “Neither is circumcision anything nor uncircumcision, but a new creation is what matters. And as many as walk by this rule, peace be upon them and mercy, even upon the Israel of God.”

The rule of the new creation will regulate us in the time we go to bed at night and rise in the morning. On the Lord’s Day in particular, the rule of the new creation will urge us to rise up a little earlier, pray for the meeting, and come to the meeting early to meet with the Lord and worship Him.

The reward for walking according to the rule of the new creation is mercy and peace….If we walk according to the rule of the new creation in the way we prepare for and come to the meeting on the Lord’s Day, we will receive mercy and peace. (Life-study of Leviticus, msg. 25, by Witness Lee)
