Creation is subject to Vanity and is Eagerly Awaiting the Revelation of the Sons of God

For the anxious watching of the creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God. Rom. 8:19

Due to the fall of man, creation has been made subject to vanity; now the whole creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God, that is, the consummation of the process of designation that all believers are going through. Hallelujah!

Man was created in the image of God and with His likeness, and the purpose in the creation of man is that man would be filled with God to live because of God and express God with His image and likeness.

Man was meant to be filled with God and live out God to express God and represent Him. This is the meaning of the human life, and this is what gives purpose to man.

However, because man was deceived and fell by partaking of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, man was corrupted and deadened, and now human life under the sun is vanity and chasing after the wind.

From the moment we are born to the moment we die, our human life under the sun in the fallen man and in the corrupted world is nothing but vanity.

What others have been doing for ages, we also do today, and even in achieving great success and accumulating a lot of riches, it is all vanity.

The length of our days is very short and getting shorter, and not even the current modern technologies can give us real satisfaction.

We may invent something and seemingly change others’ lives, but success and satisfaction are short-lived and something else will come along to take people’s attention. Everything is vanity and chasing after the wind. Oh, Lord!

Without God, without man being one with God and living in this organic union with God, it is all in vain.

Even more, because man as the head of creation fell, the whole creation has been made subject to vanity.

Not only death came in, and all plants and animals and living beings are subject to death, but the whole creation is under the slavery of corruption, and they are all eagerly awaiting the revelation of the sons of God.

When the believers in Christ, the sons of God, are fully redeemed and transfigured, the whole creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the children of God.

In other words, it all depends on us, the sons of God, how much we cooperate with God to be filled with God and to allow Christ to grow in us and be formed in us.

The more we are constituted with God as reality through the word of reality and under the inner guidance of the Spirit of reality, the more Christ grows in us, the more He makes His home in us, and the more we’re arriving at the stage of maturity when we become the same as He is. Hallelujah!

The Entire Creation is Subject to Vanity and is Eagerly Awaiting the Revelation of the Sons of God

For the creation was made subject to vanity, not of its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will also be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Rom. 8:20-21Eccl. 1:2 says, Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. The entire creation has been made subject to vanity due to the fall of man.

As a result of Satan’s injecting himself as sin into man, both man and all created things were brought into the slavery of corruption and were made subject to vanity (Rom. 5:12; 8:20). The reason human life under the sun is vanity is that man fell and was injected by Satan with his evil element.

In the whole universe, there’s nothing except vanity and corruption; this corruption is a kind of bondage, a slavery that binds the whole creation.

The creation has been made subject to vanity because man, the head of all creation, fell; now the entire creation is groaning and eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God, in hope that the creation itself will also be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God (Rom. 8:19-22).

Because creation has been made subject to vanity and to the slavery of corruption, everything under the sun is vanity (Eccl. 1:2; 12:8).

At present the entire creation is enslaved under the law of decay and corruption; all things grow, develop, bloom, and then they corrupt and die.

The whole creation is in hope, which is to be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God when the sons of God are revealed (Rom. 8:20-21).

When the sons of God are revealed, that it, at the time of the transfiguration of our body, two things will happen simultaneously: He will come objectively and outwardly from the heavens as the sun, and He will come out from within us as the hope of glory, for He saturates and transfigures our body for Him to be glorified in the saints.

This is our hope of glory. Right now we sons of God are quite mysterious, for we have God living in us; we have God in Christ as the Spirit as our hope of glory, and one day there will be the revelation of the sons of God.

If we tell people on the street that we are sons of God, that God lives in us, they will think we are crazy, for we look like them, and there doesn’t seem to be any difference outwardly. Oh, Lord!

However, we have Christ in us, the hope of glory, and one day we will be revealed, we will be manifested as the sons of God.

On that day we don’t need to declare that we are sons of God, for at the revelation of the sons of God, we will be designated as sons by the glory of God, and all people will have to admit that we are sons of God.

...the day will come when the sons of God will be manifested. In that day there will be no need to make the declaration, “From now on we are the sons of God,” because we all shall be glorified. We shall be in glory, designated as sons by the glory of God. Then all other people will have to admit that we are the sons of God. They will say, “Look at these people. Who are these people so full of glory? They must be sons of God.” There will be no need for us to say anything. We shall be designated by our glorification. The entire creation is waiting for this with watching eyes, for the creation eagerly expects the revelation of the sons of God. Life-Study of Romans, Chapter 19And the entire creation, which was made subject to vanity and is in slavery to corruption, will be released from this bondage and slavery and will enter into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Hallelujah!

It was through the fall of man that the whole creation was subjected to vanity, and it will be through the glorification of man that all creation will be rescued and delivered, even brought into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Today we live in an age of mystery, the age of the church, even the age of God working inwardly; we do not see the manifestation of what God is doing in a full way, but we want to cooperate with His inner operation, we want to live a life of reality by having Him wrought into us and lived out of us, and we yearn to be revealed as the sons of God.

There’s an inward process of saturation with the divine life working in us, and this process will consummate with our glorification when God in Christ as the Spirit will saturate both our spirit, soul, and body with the divine glory to make us the same as He is!

And as a result of the revelation of the sons of God, the entire creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption in the freedom of the children of God!

Thank You Lord for coming into us as the hope of glory! Thank You for operating in us as the Spirit to impart life to all our inward parts to saturate our inward being with Yourself and transform us into Your image. Amen, Lord, we are eagerly awaiting the transfiguration of our body so that the sons of God may be revealed! We want to cooperate with Your inner working until we become sons of God in full! Amen, Lord, bring about the revelation of the sons of God so that the whole creation may be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God! Go on in us, Lord, and bring us on to maturity until the sons of God are revealed!

The Anxious Waiting of the Creation Eagerly Awaits the Revelation of the Sons of God!

For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails in pain together until now. And not only so, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan in ourselves, eagerly awaiting sonship, the redemption of our body. Rom. 8:22-23All creation is eagerly awaiting the revelation of the sons of God.

We may have a pet, a cat or a dog, and we may love them and spend time with them; the real yearning in our pet is that we would grow in life unto maturity so that they would be delivered from the slavery of corruption.

We may have some nice rose bushes around our house or we may have a nice garden with lots of vegetables or flowers; the deep yearning in all these plants and in the whole creation is the hastening of the revelation of the sons of God.

The entire creation has been made subject to vanity in the hope that it will be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

When we as the children of God are brought to maturity and even our body is transfigured at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the whole creation will be delivered and brought into freedom!

When we speak of the revelation of the sons of God we mean that right now something is veiled, covered, or hidden; right now we as children of God cannot manifest who and what we are, for it is all hidden, inward, and spiritual (Eph. 1:17; 3:5; Gal. 1:15-16; Rev. 1:1).

Our body is like a shell covering and hiding what we are; we can’t just go to the person at the store and tell them we’re sons of God.

However, there will be a time when we don’ even have to say anything, for the glory that saturates us is expressed through us!

The glory which is in us right now will transfigure our body and we will live in that transfigured body as the wife of the redeeming God! What a glorious future we have!

At the Lord’s second coming, when we will be glorified and our bodies will be fully redeemed, the veil will be lifted (Rom. 8:18).

The creation – the entire creation which we see outwardly – is now groaning together and travailing together in pain until now, eagerly awaiting the revelation of the sons of God (v. 19).

This revelation is the consummation of the process of designation that we are now passing through (Rom. 1:4).

We are now going through a process of growing in life unto maturity, a process of being designated sons of God.

If we don’t grow in life in a proper way, we delay the designation of the sons of God, and the whole creation still yearns and groans…

It’s almost as if the whole creation is cheering us on, hurrying us up, so that all the plants, animals, and all living things are eagerly waiting for the time of their being released from the slavery of corruption!

The whole creation groans together and travails in pain as in the pangs of childbirth until we are fully matured and glorified (Rom. 8:22). Wow!

Although we have the divine Spirit as the firstfruits in our spirit, our body has not yet been saturated with the divine life. Our body is still the flesh, linked to the old creation, and it is still a body of sin and death that is impotent in the things of God. Hence, we groan together with the creation (Rom. 8:19, 22) and eagerly await the glorious day when we will obtain the full sonship, the redemption and transfiguration of our body, and will be freed from the slavery of corruption. Rom. 8:23, footnote 2, RcV BibleAnd not only so, but even we ourselves also, we who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan in ourselves, eagerly awaiting sonship, the redemption of our body.

When we’re young, we think we’re immortal, very energetic, with no problems at all; the more we grow in human life, the more responsibilities we have, the more sicknesses we pass through, the more we groan in ourselves to be delivered from the slavery of corruption and be glorified.

Our body belongs to the old creation and has not yet been redeemed, so we are groaning in it even as the whole creation does.

As we are groaning, we have the firstfruits of the Spirit, having a foretaste of the full taste of the Spirit in the coming age (v. 23).

The Spirit today is a foretaste, a sample of the full taste of God as our enjoyment in the coming age and for eternity.

The full taste will come in the day of glory, but today we can enjoy Him as the foretaste.

There is a process taking place; we are all in the process of being designated as sons of God in full.

We need to cooperate with the Lord, realizing that regeneration is instantaneous, transfiguration is also instantaneous, but the process of transformation is lifelong and gradual.

Dear Lord Jesus, we give ourselves to You today to continue in the normal process of growth in life unto maturity! Keep us in the process of being transformed and conformed to Your image until we are transfigured in our body to be fully glorified! Oh Lord, we groan in ourselves to be transfigured! The whole creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God! We open to You, dear Lord, and we enjoy the firstfruits of the Spirit, eagerly awaiting sonship, the redemption of our body! How we desire to be transfigured in our body and be delivered from the slavery of sin, corruption, and death! Amen, Lord, bring us and bring all the believers in Christ to the consummation of the process of designation of the sons of God!
