The divine fellowship is everything in the Christian life, for when fellowship disappears, God also disappears, since God comes as the fellowship; our Christian life is a life in the fellowship of life, and the divine fellowship is the reality of living in the Body of Christ.
Lord Jesus, we want to keep ourselves in the divine fellowship today. Keep us in the flow of life. We treasure the flow of life and we are willing to give up all things so that we may maintain the flow and remain in the flow. Hallelujah, God comes to us as the fellowship, and when we have the divine fellowship, we have God! Amen, Lord, keep us today under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity so that we may be richly supplied with all that God is and become part of His corporate expression on the earth! Amen!
This week we have been enjoying the eternal blessing of the Triune God dispensing Himself into us for our enjoyment and the accomplishing of His economy.
As we see in 2 Corinthians 13:14, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit are with us all; this is the eternal blessing of the Triune God dispensing Himself into us.
God is triune for the purpose of dispensing Himself into us for our enjoyment and for the accomplishment of His economy.
In order for us to enjoy this eternal blessing of the Triune God dispensing Himself into us, we need to enter into and keep ourselves in the eternal love of God. He poured Himself out into our heart as love, and we need to keep ourselves in His love.
This indicates that we need to spend an adequate amount of personal time with the Lord to have a private and affectionate time with Him in spirit.
To remain under the divine dispensing, we need to enter into and keep ourselves standing in the grace of Christ, which is the Triune God as our enjoyment. We simply need to enjoy His words of grace and let Him flow through us as grace.
Also, we need to enter into and keep ourselves in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, the inner flow of life.
We all have this flow of life, for this is the fellowship of the divine life which all believers have, but we need to keep ourselves in this fellowship.
We need to have an interwoven fellowship, the vertical fellowship with God being interwoven with the horizontal fellowship with the saints. This is the real fellowship. May we learn to remain in the divine fellowship in this way.
The Divine Fellowship is Everything in the Christian Life: God comes as Fellowship and our Christian Life is a Life in the Fellowship of Life
If we prayerfully consider the writings of John we realise that the divine fellowship is everything in our Christian life. We realise that, when fellowship disappears, God also disappears. When God comes to us, He comes as the fellowship.
If we use the illustration of electricity, we realise that the current of electricity is simply electricity itself. Similarly, God is the flow of life, the divine fellowship, the flow of the eternal life.
The fellowship of the divine life, the flow of the divine life, is the divine life itself; if this flow stops, our Christian life stops. Oh Lord! Our Christian life is a life in the fellowship of life.
We live our Christian life by being in the fellowship of life, that is, by being open to the Lord’s continual dispensing and taking care of the sense of life within, the flow of the divine life within us.
Eventually, in this divine fellowship, God is interwoven with us and we are interwoven with God. In the divine fellowship, God is mingled with us and we are mingled with God.
This is what He is after; He wants to obtain some open vessels who receive and enjoy His divine dispensing so that He may mingle Himself with them and mingle them with Himself. Our Christian life is a life in the fellowship of life.
Our marriage life, the married life of the believers, should be an interwoven fellowship.
Many times it starts this way, for both the brother and the sister may be burning for the Lord and may pray much together.
But then many things happen, many offenses are unforgiven and are piling up, and there are all kinds of anxieties of life and deceitfulness of riches which cause the heart to be hardened. It should not be like this.
We need to recover the interwoven fellowship in our married life, in our Christian life, and in the church life. And our service comes out of this: our service comes out of the interweaving of God and man.
The divine fellowship is the dispensing of the Triune God into us, the tripartite men, making us and God one. The Greek word for fellowship means “joint participation,” and this joint participation issues in oneness.
When we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, partaking of what He is and allowing Him to mingle Himself with us, we are one with Him and we are one with the saints.
Actually, the divine fellowship is just oneness; when God is fellowshipping with us and when we are fellowshipping with God, that makes us and God one!
Praise the Lord, we are one simply by being under the divine dispensing so that we may be mingled with God and be made one with God (Rev. 22:1; 1 Cor. 10:16).
Fellowship is just oneness, and when we are in the divine fellowship, we are one – we’re one with God and we are one with the saints in the Body.
In this whole universe there is a big oneness, and this big oneness is the divine fellowship.
This oneness is not our oneness but the oneness of the Triune God; the oneness of the Triune God has been enlarged to include us, and we are brought into the big oneness of the Triune God.
Amen, the Lord desires to make us all one as the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are one! This is what the Lord prayed for in John 17:22, That they may be one, even as We are one.
The oneness of the Body of Christ is the enlarged oneness of the Divine Trinity (v. 21). This is the highest definition of the church: the enlarged oneness of the Divine Trinity.
The Lord wants to make us one by being in Him and Him being in us.
This doesn’t mean that we are together with the saints all the time; it means that we are in spirit, we maintain the fellowship of life by remaining under the divine dispensing, and we are simply one! Amen!
Lord Jesus, cause us to see that the divine fellowship is everything in the Christian life! Amen, Lord, may we realise that, when fellowship disappears, God also disappears, for God comes as fellowship! We open to You today! Flow in us and flow among us as eternal life. Praise the Lord, the fellowship of the divine life, the flow of the divine life, is the divine life itself! Amen, Lord, may we realise that our Christian life is a life in the fellowship of life. We want to live in the fellowship of life today. We want to fellowship with God and fellowship with the saints so that we may have the interwoven fellowship! Hallelujah, in the divine fellowship God is mingling Himself with us and He is mingling us with Himself! Amen, Lord, mingle Yourself more with us today! May there be more interweaving today, more mingling, so that we may all be one! Hallelujah, fellowship is just oneness! Wow, praise the Lord, in this whole universe there is a big oneness, and this big oneness is the divine fellowship! Amen, in the divine fellowship, in the flow of life, we are all one! Amen!
The Divine Fellowship is the Reality of Living in the Body of Christ: the Church and the Divine Trinity are one in Fellowship!
On the personal side, our Christian life is a life in the fellowship of life, a life in the flow of the divine life.
As seen in 1 John 1:1-7, there is a spiritual cycle in our Christian life formed of four crucial things: the eternal life, the fellowship of the eternal life, the divine light, and the blood of Jesus the Son of God. First, we receive the eternal life and enjoy the fellowship of the eternal life.
As we enjoy this fellowship, the divine light shines on us and exposes us, so we repent, confess our sins, and apply the blood of Jesus.
This brings us into more enjoyment of the eternal life, to have the fellowship of the eternal life, and there is more shining, more application of the blood, and then more life.
As we go through such a cycle in our spiritual life, we go on in the growth of the divine life until we reach the maturity of life.
This is on the personal side; our Christian life is in the fellowship of life.
On the corporate side, the divine fellowship is the reality of living in the Body of Christ. We live in the Body of Christ in reality as we live in the divine fellowship.
The reason the Lord didn’t yet come back is that the believers are individualistic, independent, opinionated, and divided (Rev. 22:20).
If we look around us and even in the church life, so many times we are like this: opinionated, independent, and individualistic; this hinders the fellowship of life and delays the Lord’s return.
However, by being restricted in the divine fellowship, the Body of Christ is kept in oneness and the work of the ministry continues to go on (Eph. 4:11-12; Ezek. 47:9).
The thing that makes everything alive is fellowship. When we give ourselves to be in the fellowship of the divine life, the fellowship of the Body of Christ, the first thing that happens is that we are restricted.
We may be in a meeting and we fellowship and coordinate concerning certain matters, and we may be ready to share our own feeling of opinion, but the Lord within us limits us and restricts us from sharing.
We may be at home with our spouse and children, and we may have a feeling to say this or do that, but inwardly, the fellowship of the divine life restricts us and stops us.
There is a river of water of life flowing from the throne of God; this is the fellowship of the eternal life, which brings us under the throne of God.
We experience being limited and restricted by the fellowship of the divine life whenever we heed the inner speaking of the Lord.
As we fellowship with others, we learn to put away our private interests and we join with others for a certain common purpose (Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:3; 1 Cor. 1:9; 3:6, 12).
To live in the divine fellowship is to put aside our private interests and to join with the apostles and the Triune God for the carrying out of God’s purpose.
The problem is that we still live very much in the self, so we do not put aside our private interests. Those who were saved in Acts 2 were brought into and continued steadfastly in the fellowship of the apostles (v. 42).
Later in the New Testament this fellowship is called the fellowship of the Father and of His Son (1 John 1:3), the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor. 13:14), and the fellowship of the spirit (Phil. 2:1).
We need to pay the price to be in the fellowship of the Spirit, the fellowship of the divine life. The only way we can have the fellowship of the divine life is if we go through the cross.
Fellowship is deepened through the cross of death, and fellowship is lifted by the Spirit’s breath.
It is possible for us to have fellowship, but it may be quite superficial; we need to have our fellowship deepened by the cross. We need to have the cross applied in our living.
We need the cross to be applied in all the aspects of our daily life. If there’s no death, there is no life; if there is no cross, we have no way to enjoy the fellowship of life. If there’s no cross, there’s no Christ.
If there is no cross, there is no fellowship, and if there is no fellowship, there is no divine dispensing, and God cannot accomplish His economy.
The cross needs to be applied to our being; the cross is in the Spirit. The Spirit has been compounded with the cross of Christ and the death of Christ; what we need to do is pay attention to our spirit.
Especially in the married life, we need to pay attention to our spirit. As we speak to our spouse, live the family life, and deal with many things, we need to take heed to our spirit. Amen!
Eventually, the church and the Divine Trinity are one in fellowship (John 14:21, 23).
May we remain in the cycle of life, enjoying the eternal life, the fellowship of the eternal life, the divine light, and the blood of Christ that cleanses us.
And may we remain in the fellowship of the divine life, the fellowship of the Body, by allowing the cross to operate in our being.
Lord Jesus, cause us to see that the divine fellowship is the reality of living in the Body of Christ. Amen, Lord, we want to live in the Body today by keeping ourselves in the divine fellowship! Save us from being individualistic, independent, opinionated, and divided. May we live as members in the Body, remaining in the fellowship of the Body. Lord Jesus, we allow the divine fellowship to restrict us so that the Body of Christ may be kept in oneness and the work of the ministry may go on! Amen, Lord Jesus, keep us in the divine fellowship so that we may do all things in a living way! We choose to put aside our private interests and join ourselves with others for the carrying out of God’s eternal economy! Amen, Lord, we wnat to live in the divine fellowship by putting aside our private interests and joining ourselves with the saints and the Triune God for the carrying out of God’s purpose! Praise the Lord, as we allow the cross to operate in us and cross us out, we can be one with the Divine Trinity in fellowship! Hallelujah!
