Letting the Enthroned Peace of Christ Rule, Settle all Disputes, and Keep us One

Eph. 4:3 Being diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace. For the living of the one new man we need to allow the peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts; we need to allow the enthroned peace of Christ to rule in us and have the final word, and it will eliminate all the frictions and solve all the problems.

To have peace doesn’t mean only that there is no more problem or friction, but that we are joined together into one to be the one new man in reality. On the cross Christ tore down the middle wall of partition, destroyed the enmity, and abolished in His flesh the law of commandments in ordinances, so making peace.

He made peace between us and God and between us and one another. He reconciled us to God and He reconciled us to one another, and in Christ we have peace. And this Christ came into us to be our peace, even to be the arbitrating peace of Christ in us, for us to have the living of the one new man.

Now whenever we sense in us that there are some arguing parties and we have disputes within our being, we can turn to our spirit by calling on the name of the Lord, and the peace of Christ will arbitrate in our hearts to maintain our heart in a peaceful condition for the one new man.

The key is to turn to our spirit and to enthrone the peace of Christ as the arbiter, the umpire, the boss, and allow the enthroned peace of Christ to rule and decide in our hearts and among us in the church life.

Whenever we sense that there’s a friction or dispute between us and other saints, we need to turn to our spirit and receive the divine transmission, and under this divine transmission we will be enabled to allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our heart and keep us in a peaceful condition for the living of the one new man.

For the practical living of the one new man we all need to continue to experience being renewed in the spirit of our mind, taking Christ as our person, growing up into Christ in all things, and learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus, and for all these we need to allow the peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts to settle all the disputes and solve all the problems in our being and in the church life.

We should learn to set aside our opinions and feelings and allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, listening to the word of the indwelling referee and letting Him have the final word and take the decision. This will maintain the proper living of the one new man.

Allowing the Enthroned Peace of Christ to Rule in us to Settle all the Disputes for us to have Peace with God and with Man

If we allow the peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, this peace will settle all the disputes among us; we shall have peace with God vertically and with the saints horizontally. Through the arbitration of the peace of Christ, our problems are solved, and the friction between the saints disappears; then the church life is preserved in sweetness, and the new man is maintained in a practical way. The arbitrating of the peace of Christ is Christ working within us to exercise His rule over us, to speak the last word, and to make the final decision (cf. Isa. 9:6-7). If we stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace of Christ, we shall not offend others or damage them; rather, by the Lord’s grace and with His peace we shall minister life to others. Witness Lee, Life-study of Colossians, pp. 564-566If we as believers in Christ allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, this peace will settle all the disputes within us and solve all the problems in the church life.

There are many things that trouble us including the things in the world, our family situation, the frictions in the church life, our job and workmates, our financial situation, and many things within our being.

We need a referee, an arbitrator, to calm down the differing opinions and settle all the disputes so that we may be joined to the saints in oneness for the living of the one new man.

For the peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, it must rule in us; this means that we need to enthrone the peace of Christ in us as the ruler and decider of everything.

We may think we know what’s right and what’s wrong, what decisions we should make, and what’s the right way, but the result is still troubles and disputes; however, when we enthrone the peace of Christ and allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, we will have real peace and oneness.

For example, someone in the church life may offend us, and they may not come to apologise. If by the Lord’s mercy we come to the Lord and set our mind on the things which are above, we will experience once again the divine transmission which gives rise to the arbitrating peace of Christ.

Then by the peace of Christ we will repent, confess, and receive grace to go to that person who offended us and minister life to them.

It doesn’t matter who is right and who is wrong, what matters is to allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, and the church life will be preserved and the new man will be maintained in a practical way.

What preserves the church life as the life of the one new man is not mere teachings or organisation but our continual setting our mind on the things which are above and allowing the heavenly transmission to impart the divine element into us.

Then we will be renewed in the spirit of our mind and Christ will be infused into us as the peace that keeps us in oneness. The peace of Christ is actually Christ Himself as peace, and when we allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, to speak the last word, and make the final decision, we will be preserved in the living of the one new man.

Peace is in our spirit, and when we turn to our spirit, any frictions among the saints will be dealt with and all the problems will be solved. If we stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace of Christ, we shall not offend others or damage them; rather, by the Lord’s grace and with His peace we shall minister life to others.

Simply stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace of Christ, and we will remain in a peaceful situation where we can minister Christ to others as life for the church as the one new man.

Lord Jesus we enthrone You as peace in our heart and give You the preeminence, the first place. We don’t care for right or wrong, and we are willing to drop our opinions an feelings so that the enthroned peace of Christ would arbitrate in our hearts for the living of the one new man. Oh Lord, we simply want to stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace or Christ so that we don’t damage or offend others, but we would minister life to others by the Lord’s grace and with His life. Amen, Lord, make us such ones!

The Enthroned Peace of Christ Binds us and Keeps us in Oneness in the Church Life

Christ abolished on the cross all the differences that were due to ordinances. In so doing He made peace for His Body. This peace should bind all believers together and should thus become the uniting bond. The uniting bond of peace is the issue of the working of the cross. When we remain on the cross, we have peace with others. This peace becomes the uniting bond in which we keep the oneness of the Spirit. Eph. 4:3, footnote 3, RcV BibleAs believers in Christ and as those who have been brought by the Lord into the proper church life, we love the Lord, we have His divine life, and we seek Him with those who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart.

However, since we still have our old man with us, many times we have trouble inwardly and disputes or problems outwardly.

The most peaceful place in the world today is the cemetery, for there is no opinions there, there’s no arguments, and there’s no difference in race, background, or logic. When someone is dead, put in a coffin, and buried, everything is over, and there’s full peace with no more arguments.

One time someone looked as if he were dead and the others put him in a coffin to bury him, and just before he was to be buried, he woke up and started to kick the coffin for others to let him out.

This is our situation many times: we were crucified and buried with Christ, but we are not dead thoroughly, so we want to get out of the coffin. Christ has already terminated us – He crucified the flesh, the world, and the old man; we simply need to live in the reality of the cross and allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in us and rule over us.

May we not use our effort and energy to fight and argue with others but to minister life, dispense grace, and build up the church as the one new man. We should let the peace of Christ preside in our heart, and the renewing of the new man will take place continually.

If we stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace of Christ, we will keep the oneness of the Body. All the churches need to be under the arbitrating peace of Christ; all the saints need to enjoy and experience Christ as the supplying grace and the arbitrating peace.

We need to be diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace (Eph. 4:3). On the cross Christ abolished all the differences that were due to ordinances, and in so doing, He made peace for His Body.

Now this peace – Christ as the enthroned peace in us – should bind us as believers together, becoming the uniting bond.

The uniting bond of peace is the issue of the working of the cross; when we remain on the cross, we have peace with others, and the peace of Christ becomes the uniting bond in which we keep the oneness of the Spirit.

The peace of Christ is our uniting bond, joining us together and binding us together; genuine oneness is this peace. This is a uniting bond of love and peace; we need to be joined together in love and peace, and the only way is by allowing the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in us.

Without this peace we cannot have harmony and oneness, and we can’t experience the Lord’s blessing.

Lord Jesus, may the enthroned peace of Christ rule in us and in the church life to settle all the disputes, to solve all the problems, and to bind us in oneness in the Body. We want to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace. Keep us one spirit with You, Lord, so that we may remain on the cross, allowing the cross to operate in us, for the keeping of the oneness in peace in the church life. Amen, Lord, may the peace of Christ bind us together and knit us together in love in the one new man!

The arbitrating of the peace of Christ is Christ working within us to exercise His rule over us, to speak the last word, and to make the final decision (cf. Isa. 9:6-7).

I enjoyed the verses and the point above. Christ is the Prince of peace and to the increase of His government and peace there is no end! We need to let Him rule in us letting Him have the last word. In this way we keep the peace.

What a prize, what a gain that out of His Glorious riches He has strengthen us with power through His Spirit to follow the gospel by faith, to know the depth and height of the Love of the Father.

Allowing the peace of Christ to Arbitrate in our hearts, letting the word of God dwell in us richly.” O Lord let us enthroned you as the ruler and decider of everything”; often we are conscious of three parties within us: a positive party, a negative party, and a neutral party; hence, there is a need for inward arbitration to settle the dispute within us:

Whenever we sense that different parties within our being are arguing or quarreling , we need to give place to the presiding peace of Christ and allow this peace, which is the oneness of the new man, rule within us and have the final say.

Thank the Lord for the recovery. May we come to realise that we are just vanity but He is all and in all. Amen.

May we be encouraged to set our mind on the things above and experience the heavenly transmission that results in renewing of the new man.

Then Christ as peace will arbitrate in our hearts, and the Lord will have a way to build up the new man and prepare the bride for His coming.

Amen! Yes Lord, we want to experience the ruling of Christ in us to arbitrate in our hearts for the bringing forth of the one new man. Lord grace us and keep us under the heavenly transmission to continually impart the divine element into us for the renewing of our mind and the keeping of the oneness of the Spirit. This will be the practical experience of Christ as our peace , our life and person as the corporate one new man.

When the peace of Christ is enthroned in our hearts to be the unique umpire within us, we shall have peace with God vertically and with the saints horizontally. We praise the Lord that we are enjoying peace, and in this peace the church life as the new man is preserved! As the peace of Christ presides in our hearts, the renewing of the new man takes place continually. If we stay under the ruling of the enthroned peace of Christ, we shall not offend others or damage them. Rather, by the Lord’s grace and with His peace, we shall minister life to others. The oneness in a local church and among the churches is not maintained by human endeavoring. It is maintained only by the arbitrating peace of Christ….All the churches and the recovery as a whole are under the arbitrating peace of Christ. In us Christ is the supplying grace and the arbitrating peace….If we allow the enthroned peace of Christ to arbitrate in our hearts, our married life, family life, and church life will all be preserved in oneness.

May we be encouraged to set our mind on the things above so that the heavenly transmission may bring the divine substance into our being for the renewing of the new man. Then Christ in the particular aspect of peace will arbitrate in our hearts, and the Lord will have a way to build up the new man and prepare the bride for His coming.
