God is willing to do many things, but He waits for our cooperation, our prayer

February 10, 2010 by aGodMan 1 Comment

There are some very encouraging verses in the Bible like “all things that you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and you will have them”(Mark 11:24) and “… that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give you” (John 15:16). These and many other verses (John 14:13, 15:7, 16:24) show us that God wants to answer our prayers, He wants to do things – but He’s just waiting for us to pray.

I especially enjoyed these principles of the spiritual work:

  1. God wants to do something, He has a will that He wants to accomplish;
  2. God reveals His will to His children through His Spirit so that they would know what He desires to do – His plan, His economy, His aspiration;
  3. God’s children, us, His believers, “return” back to Him His will in prayer – we just echo back to Him what He already revealed to us that He wants to do. We agree on earth with what He desires and aspires to in the heavens.
  4. God accomplishes what He desires to do – after He has man’s cooperation and agreement.

On the one hand, God the Almighty can do everything – He’s the One who calls things not being INTO being, and gives life to the dead! But on the other hand, He limits Himself in what He does and wants to do – to His people’s cooperation with Him in prayer.

He’s looking for people who are open to receive His intention and His heart’s desire, and who cooperate with Him by praying what they received from Him – back to God! God is willing to do many things, but He will not do them unless His people pray!

He waits for us, His believers, to agree with Him. God wants to save our friends, to save the ones we go to school with, the ones we work with, and the ones we care for – He just needs us to receive from Him the words + the burden to pray for Him to do it!

This shows how important and vital is man in the fulfilling of God’s eternal economy. We can pray for our own needs, the things that we have to take care of, our families, our situation… but God is looking for some who would listen to Him, spend time with Him, receive from Him what He intends to do – and then pray this back to Him!

He even says “command Me concerning the works of My hands, …” – the entire power & might of the Triune God is “commanded” or switched on by these tiny human beings praying in one accord for Him to move!

Lord, grant us to see this, spend time with You to be infused with Your thoughts & desires, and to pray back Your word, Your desire, so that You may accomplish it!

After I've enjoyed the daily digest-January 14, the Spirit led me to this related post and strengthen me to apply the reality and practicality of the essential, economical Spirit and the work of Christ. These words has vitalize me to consecrate and cooperate in His move with and through prayer. O Lord, Jesus! To fulfill and carry out His will, GTCA will have the sowing trips January 29-February 15, 2011, and set up goals for the next ten years. As a member in the Body of Christ, I coordinate and stand in prayer!
[…..we believe that the Lord will recover this lost ground. This is the highest peak, the highest mountain of the good land. In this last days the Lord will recover this highest peak, this highest mountain……we must realize the facts, take the ground, and claim what the Head has attained and obtained. This is the prevailing prayer of the church. This is the prayer of the age…..from The Collected works of Witness Lee, Volume 1 1963, chapter 2] Praise the Lord!
