Seeing that we have the same Position with Christ when we’re in the Mingled Spirit

Col. 3:1-2 If therefore you were raised together with Christ, seek the things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth.According to Col. 3:1-4 we as believers in Christ have the same position with Christ, and we have one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ; this all is real by means of the divine transmission in our spirit.

The book of Colossians reveals the highest aspect of the church – the church as the one new man.

The new man was created in Christ, and it has to be renewed continually; this takes place by the renewing of our mind and by our growing into Christ in all things and learning Christ as the reality is in Jesus, so that we may have the corporate living of the one new man.

The life of the new man is Christ, and the constitution and person of the new man is also Christ; in the church as the one new man Christ is all and in all (Col. 3:10-11).

Simply coming together as believers from different backgrounds and cultures doesn’t make us the new man;we need to be saturated, permeated, and filled to overflowing with Christ, and in this process Christ replaces us.

As we are being saturated and permeated with Christ, He replaces all our natural distinctions, social distinctions, cultural distinctions, and nationality and country – He replaces everything and every one.

We need to be rooted and grounded in Christ; we have been planted in Him, and now we need to absorb the rich nutrients of the all-inclusive and all-extensive Christ.

As we spend time with the Lord to absorb Him into our being, we receive the necessary nutrients to grow in life and constituted the one new man.

Christ is everything to us in our Christian life and church life for the one new man; He is our daily food, our Sabbath, our new moon, our new feast, and our enjoyment. He is our real spiritual drink and spiritual food, and He is our real covering and beauty; all the positive outward things are a shadow of Christ.

If we are rooted in Christ and absorb His riches, enjoying Him as our life daily, we can hold to Him as the Head, God will grow in us, and we will grow with the growth of God. Besides all these wonderful and positive aspects of Christ in the book of Colossians, we need to see that we need to experience Christ as our life, our person, for the one new man.

Life is not a thing – life is a living person, the Lord Jesus; when we experience Him as our life, we experience Him as our unique person.

To Experience Christ as life we need to see that we have One Position, Living, Life, and Destiny with Christ

In order to experience Christ as our life, our person, we need to see that we have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ (Col. 3:1-4; cf. 1 Cor. 6:17). Our position is that we are in Christ; because we are in Him, we are where He is — sitting at the right hand of God (Col. 3:1; John 17:24; Eph. 2:6). The Son’s position is in the Father (John 10:38; 14:10); we are in the Son (1 Cor. 1:30a), so we are in the Father (John 14:20; 1 Thes. 1:1; 2 Thes. 1:1). It is when we are in the spirit that we are in Christ, in the Father, and in heaven practically and experientially. Witness LeeIn order for us as believers in Christ to experience Christ as our life, our person, we need to see that we all have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ (see Col. 3:1-4, cf. 1 Cor. 6:17).

We need to realize that we are in Christ; it is of God that we are in Christ Jesus (1 Cor. 1:30), and the Father gave us to Christ that we may be where He is, even in Him (John 17:24).

Where is Christ today? He is sitting at the right hand of God in the heavenlies, and that’s where we also are – we are in Christ, and we have the same position with  Christ. Our position is in the heavenlies.

We are one with Christ, and we have the same life as Christ – the life He has, we also have. Because we have the same life as Him, we have one living with Christ, and our living is His living.

When we live, Christ lives, for He lives in our living; if we have a living with Christ in a practical way day by day, then whatever we do, He also does. When we speak, He speaks; when we are quiet, He is quiet; when we go somewhere, He goes somewhere.

But if we are angry and Christ is not angry, then in this case our living is not His living. We have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ.

Glory is our future and our destination, and the Lord is now in glory – we are where He is. He is in glory yet hidden from mankind, but one day He will no longer be hidden but manifested in an open way, and when He is manifested, we also will be manifested with Him.

Our destination is the have the same glory as Christ. First of all, our position is that we are in Christ; because we are in Him, we are where He is – sitting at the right hand of God (Col. 3:1; John 17:24; Eph. 2:6).

We were raised together with Christ and seated with Him in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus.

According to the spiritual reality we believers in Christ are all in Christ, and Christ is in the Father; because we are in the Son, we are also in the Father.

God is in the heavenlies, so we are also in the heavenlies. But how can we experience this practically in our daily life? The key is being in our mingled spirit, that is, being practically one spirit with the Lord.

When we are in the mingled spirit, we experience Christ as life and we have the same position, life, living, destiny, and glory with Christ.

Hallelujah, we have the same position with Christ, and we have one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory with Christ! Lord, we want to experience You as life and person, realizing that we have one position, life, living, destiny, and glory with You! Praise the Lord, we are seated with Christ in the heavenlies, His life is our life, our living is His living, our destiny is His destiny, and His glory is also our glory! And all these are made real to us in the mingled spirit! Hallelujah for our spirit!

Turning to our Spirit to Experience the Divine Transmission and have the same Position with Christ

The very Christ who is sitting on the throne in heaven (Rom. 8:34) is also now in us (Rom. 8:10), that is, in our spirit (2 Tim. 4:22), where the habitation of God is (Eph. 2:22). At Bethel, the house of God, the habitation of God, which is the gate of heaven, Christ is the ladder that joins earth to heaven and brings heaven to earth (Gen. 28:12-17; John 1:51). Since today our spirit is the place of God’s habitation, it is now the gate of heaven, where Christ is the ladder that joins us, the people on earth, to heaven, and brings heaven to us. Hence, whenever we turn to our spirit, we enter through the gate of heaven and touch the throne of grace in heaven through Christ as the heavenly ladder. Heb. 4:16, footnote 1, RcV BibleLet us all therefore come forward to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help (Heb. 4:16). Where is the throne of grace? It is in our spirit.

There’s a transmission going on from heaven into our spirit constantly; when we are one spirit with the Lord, we experience the divine transmission and have the same position with Christ, having one life, one living, one expression, one destiny, and one glory with Him.

Christ is the Man in the glory, but His life is for us (Hymns #505). We need to see a vision of the heavenly transmission from the glorified Christ into us, and we need to be open to this transmission so that we may remain in this constant flow of life.

The transmitting end of the divine transmission is the throne of God in the heaven, and the receiving end is our mingled spirit.

Our spirit is the receiving end, and God’s throne in the heavens is the transmitting end; Christ became the heavenly ladder in our spirit who joins man to heaven and heaven to earth to bring God to man and man into God.

When we turn to our spirit, we are lifted into heaven, and in experience we are in Christ, in the Father, and in the heaven. We don’t need to “seek to go to heaven” – we simply need to turn to our spirit, and we will experience the divine transmission from the throne in the heavens to us on earth, in our spirit.

The very Christ who is sitting on the throne in heaven (Rom. 8:34) is also now in us (v. 10), that is, in our spirit (2 Tim. 4:22), where the habitation of God is (Eph. 2:22).

Since today our spirit is the place of God’s habitation, it is now the gate of heaven, where Christ is the ladder that joins us to heaven and brings heaven to us (v. 22; Gen. 28:12-17; John 1:51).

When we turn to our spirit – the place of the habitation of God – we enter through the date of heaven, and we enjoy Christ as the heavenly ladder bringing the heavens to us and joining us to the heavens. Whenever we turn to our spirit, we experientially enter through the gate of heaven and touch the throne of grace in heaven through Christ as the heavenly ladder.

This is the way for us to live the life of the new man by experiencing Christ as our life, our person: by enjoying the continual divine transmission and realizing we have the same position with Christ.

When we turn to our spirit, we are in the heavens; we may be here on earth doing this or that, but inwardly we are in the mingled spirit, enjoying the divine transmission.

Many things try to bother us, “grab us” from the heaven to come back to word; many things come to cause us to come back to the earthly things.

But when we call on the name of the Lord Jesus, we turn to our spirit, and we will forget others’ criticism, we don’t care about anything else, and we remain in spirit to receive the transmission of grace and enjoy the realty in the heaven!

Thank You Lord for coming into our spirit as the heavenly ladder joining God with man and bringing heaven to earth. We turn to our spirit, Lord, and we want to remain one spirit with You today, for in our spirit we have the receiving end of the heavenly transmission. Lord, keep us in the continual divine transmission so that we may enjoy the same position as You, and we may have one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory. Amen, Lord, gain the living of the one new man by us all experiencing Christ as life, as person!

Colossians 3:1-4 implies that with Christ we have one position, one life, one living, one destiny, and one glory. Because we and Christ have one position, we are where He is. We and Christ also have one life, even the same life. The life He has we have also. Moreover, we have one living with Christ. Our living is His living. When we live, He lives, for He lives in our living. If we have one living with Christ in a practical way day by day, then whatever we do, He does also. This means that when we talk, He talks….[However], if we become angry and Christ is not angry, we do not have one living with Him at that particular time. In such a case, our living is not His living.

We also have one glory and destiny with Christ. Glory is our future and our destination. The Lord Jesus is now in glory. However, He is in glory in a way that is hidden from mankind….One day Christ will be in glory no longer in a hidden way, but in an open way, in the way of manifestation. Then everyone on earth will know that the Lord Jesus is in glory….This is our destiny as well. (Life-study of Colossians, pp. 517-518, by Witness Lee)
