Being Sanctified Unceasingly by Coming to the Living Word to be Infused with the Triune God

I will muse upon Your precepts / And regard Your ways. Psa. 119:15

Our crucial need today is to have the living Triune God infused and wrought into us through the written Word, the living Word, and the applied Word; we need to be sanctified unceasingly by having the word mingled with the Triune God to infuse God into us.

The Lord’s word in John 8:32 is clear, the truth will set us free; then, in v. 36 He added, the Son sets you free. So the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is the truth, and He is the One who sets us free.

When we come to the Word of God, we need to come to the Son of God; our reading of the Bible should not be in the same way as the reading of any other book – it has to be by coming to a Person.

We need to come to the Lord in His word, contacting Him with the exercise of our spirit and our heart turned to Him, so that He may set us free from anything negative and sanctify us by saturating us with His very element.

The truth sets us free and sanctifies us; on one hand, the truth sets us free from sin and all negative things, and on the other hand, it sanctifies us both positionally and dispositionally.

As we read the Bible and allow the Lord to speak to us and infuse His very element into us, we are set apart unto Him from anything worldly and common, and we are saturated with His element.

To be sanctified is not merely to be set apart unto God; even more, being sanctified means that the holy element of God is infused into us to become our constituent, thus making us holy.

The Triune God in His word is being realized and is being imparted into our being – this is the truth that sets us free and sanctifies us.

What a high definition and realization of the truth in the word of God!

Yes, there are many truths in the Bible, such as the truth concerning redemption, salvation, sanctification, transformation, God’s economy, man’s glorification, etc, but the reality of all these truths is the Triune God being realized by us and being imparted into us.

When we open our being to God, no matter how we feel within, we can have more of God infused into us to become our very element; this produces an organic change within us, and this is transformation.

The way we are transformed, sanctified, and renewed is by our coming to the Lord in a living way in His word. We need to be sanctified unceasingly, continually.

After we read the Word for a while, turning our heart to the Lord and exercising our spirit to contact Him, something within us rises up, and we enjoy the Lord’s presence; in this way, He is moving and working within us.

The word of God contains the very essence of the Triune God; when we come to God’s word we need to exercise our spirit and turn our heart to enjoy and partake of what God is, and this will bring the element of God into our being.

Touching the Living Word in the Written Word to have the Applied Word Infused into our being

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Tim. 3:16Every morning we can touch the living Word of God in the written Word of God to have the divine reality, the processed Triune God, as the applied word, infused into our being (see John 1:1; 10:35; 5:39-40; 6:63; Eph. 5:26; 6:17-18; Psa. 119:15). Wow!

First, we have the written word of God in the Bible; the reality of this word is Christ as the Spirit who gives life.

Then, when we read this word and turn our heart to the Lord, the written word becomes the living word of God, who is Christ Himself.

Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1, 14), and He is also the living word of God, the speaking of God to us in a present and instant way.

When God speaks to us, He speaks Christ; Christ is the speaking of God, the expression of God, the definition of God, and the utterance of God.

When the living word is applied to our being, what we have is the applied word, which is nothing but the Triune God who has been processed and consummated to be infused into our being.

We need to realize that the word of God is intimately related to the Triune God; the written word needs to become the living word that is applied to our being to infuse the Triune God into us.

Every morning we can touch the living Word in the written Word and have the applied word infuse the reality of the Triune God into us.

We all need to practice this and experience this; we don’t have to be an elderly saint or a very mature saint to experience this – we all can experience this.

Even the young saints, the young people, can experience such an infusion with the Triune God through the written word becoming the living word to be applied to our being.

We need to be trained to touch the Word in a proper way, with our spirit; this should be our normal, daily experience. The word of God should convey God to us day by day.

One way to do this is by musing on the word of God; Psa. 119:15 says I will muse upon your precepts, and regard Your ways.

This word, musing, is very rich in meaning; it is not merely to meditate but even more, it implies to worship, to converse with oneself, and to speak aloud.

We need to muse on the Word of God by reading it aloud, conversing with ourselves with the word of God, and worshipping God in prayer with His word.

Rich in meaning, the Hebrew word for muse (often translated meditate in the KJV) implies to worship, to converse with oneself, and to speak aloud. To muse on the word is to taste and enjoy it through careful considering. Prayer, speaking to oneself, and praising the Lord may also be included in musing on the word. To muse on the word of God is to enjoy His word as His breath (2 Tim. 3:16) and thus to be infused with God, to breathe God in, and to receive spiritual nourishment. Psa. 119:15, footnote 1, RcV BibleWe need to muse on the Word by tasting it and enjoying it through careful considering; the Word needs to be something we speak to ourselves with, something we pray, and something we praise the Lord with.

The Word of God is the breath of God, the breathing out of God; for us to muse on the Word of God is to enjoy His Word as His breath (2 Tim. 3:16) to be infused with God by breathing God in so that we may receive spiritual nourishment.

Some Christians like to meditate on the word of God, and they practice being silent while thinking, pondering, and meditating on the Word.

While meditation is silent, musing involves speaking; we need to open our mouth to read the Bible, speak it to ourselves, read it out loud, pray it, and worship God with the Bible.

As we exercise our spirit and our mouth to read and pray and converse with the Word of God, we receive a rich transfusion of the element of God into our being.

The infusion of God into our being sets us free from any kind of falsehood, hypocrisy, and sin, and we have real liberation, real freedom.

As we are being set free, we’re also being sanctified, separated, made holy to God, both positionally and dispositionally. The result is that we become one with God because His very essence is wrought into us.

Lord Jesus, we exercise our spirit to come to the written word of God in a living way to receive the living word and have it applied to our being. Amen, Lord, we want to touch the living Word in the written Word to have the applied word infuse the element of the processed Triune God into us! We open our whole being to You and we open our mouth to read out loud Your word, muse on Your word, and carefully consider Your word as we praise You with the Word and worship You in Your word. Amen, Lord, infuse us with Yourself. We want to breathe You in and receive spiritual nourishment in Your Word. May Your element in us increase and our element decrease by our enjoying You in Your word.

Being Sanctified Unceasingly by Coming to the Word to have the Triune God Infused and Wrought into us

And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God. Eph. 6:17Regarding sanctification, we all want to be sanctified, but we cannot sanctify ourselves; even more, the more we try to be sanctified, the more involved we become with things that are common.

But when the Word of God mingled with the essence of the Triune God is imparted into us as the truth, the truth sanctifies us.

For example, we may come to the Lord in His word in the morning to touch Him in a living way with the exercise of our spirit and with much musing and careful consideration.

Then, we go to school or to work, and throughout the day this word of truth will work within us to separate us and make us different from the others in our behaviour, thoughts, actions, and feelings (John 6:63).

As we take the Word of God in a living way to have the Triune God infused and wrought into us, we have the clear conviction that something of the Lord is wrought into us.

What we gain is not merely some knowledge of the Bible or more things about the Lord; it is the reality of the Triune God living, moving, working, and separating us.

Such an infusing of God into us to have the element of God added to us causes us to be different from the worldly people.

What a blessing it is for us to touch the living Word of God and have the divine reality infused into our being! What a blessing it is to have the Triune God infused into us and become our very constituent!

The more we enjoy God in His word, the more we are set free from negative things such as our temper, our jealousy, our hatred, and our pride; we are also set free from every kind of falsehood.

We need to daily come to the Word in this way – we need to come to the Word every morning and, if possible, at other times of the day as well.

When the word is mingled with the living Spirit in our spirit, we are sanctified with the essence of God.

We need to be continually sanctified in this way; like breathing, we can’t do this just once for all – it must be a continual exercise.

We cannot sanctify ourselves. The more we try to be sanctified, the more involved we become with things that are common. But when the word mingled with the essence of the Triune God is imparted into us as the truth, this truth sanctifies us. We have all experienced this. By contacting the written Word that is mingled with the living Word, something is transfused into us and works in us all day long. Suppose the young people touch the Word with the Spirit in morning watch and then go to school. Throughout the day at school this word of truth will work within them to separate them and make them different from their classmates in their behavior, actions, work, thoughts, and feelings. Something is working within them to sanctify them, to make them holy. Truth Messages, Chapter 5, by Witness LeeWe need to be sanctified unceasingly every minute of the day. This is the reason that we need to come to the Word to have the Triune God infused and wrought into us through His word.

When the word of God is mingled with the living Spirit in our spirit, something happens in us – the element of God is added to us, and our old element is removed; this causes us to be sanctified.

This is our crucial need, that we would have the Triune God infused into us through the Word.

As we contact the Word of God in this way, God is added into us day by day; the result is that we are permeated with God and made one with Him.

How is God added to us? How can God increase in us? How, where, and when does this happen?

This is not something abstract but rather, it is quite enjoyable and experiential.

When we pray, Lord, add Yourself to our being today, He will not “descend from heaven” or “send something out of heaven” to be added to us; rather, He does it through His word.

When we contact the Lord in His word, when we come to the written word and obtain the living word which becomes the applied word of God, we are sanctified and God is added to us.

May we do this day by day and even hour by hour, opening our being to the Lord to be sanctified unceasingly.

Lord Jesus, we want to be sanctified unceasingly by coming to Your word in a living way to be infused with the Triune God! Amen, Lord, may the Word of God be mingled with the Spirit in our spirit so that we may be sanctified with the essence of God. May God be added to our being more and more each day. We come to contact You, dear Lord, so that You may be infused into us and wrought into every part of our being through the written word, the living word, and the applied word of God. Grant us to have the real liberation, the real freedom, that both separates us unto God and saturates us with the element of God! Make us those who are permeated with God and made one with Him by coming to His Word day by day!
