When we Set our Mind on the Spirit, we Enjoy the Divine Dispensing in and for the Body

...Take heed then to your spirit... Mal. 2:15

When we take heed to the inner sense of the spirit, the law of the Spirit of life is activated within us; the secret of our Christian life which we must learn is to set our mind on our spirit by taking heed to our spirit so that we may live in spirit and remain under the divine dispensing.

How much we need to take heed to our mingled spirit (Mal. 2:15)!

In spirit, we are one with the Lord; when we’re in the spirit, He dispenses all that He is into us.

We need to spend adequate time to behold the Lord and absorb Him. Our time with the Lord must not be rushed; we need to take time to just behold Him so that He may infuse us with Himself.

Sometimes when we read the Bible or the morning revival we may really enjoy something and we may think that we need to share that with others. Or we may read so that we may get one point, something that we enjoy.

We simply need to take time to be with the Lord in His word.

When we stop beholding the Lord, the dispensing stops; when we are not open to the Lord, the absorbing stops.

We need to realize that the Lord as the law of the Spirit of life has been installed in us, but we may not heed our spirit, that is, we may not turn to Him, and He cannot flow in our being.

May we come back to the Lord.

May we fight for our time with the Lord, even refusing to be distracted by other things such as our phone, the notifications, what we need to do that day, and being reminded to call someone.

We need to cast all our cares on the Lord and trust in Him, learning to open to Him and allow Him to shine on us and infuse us with Himself.

We may even tell Him, Lord, I just open to You. Infuse me with Yourself. Keep me open to You today. Keep me under Your divine dispensing. Lord, I just want to gain more of You!

When we really touch God and absorb Him, He will speak within us, and we will say Amen to His speaking; then, we will simply speak what He has spoken to us.

This is real prayer. Real prayer is for us to come to God and open to Him, absorb Him, and be infused with Him, and then speak what He is speaking to us and in us.

To pray is to come to the Lord as we are, draw near to Him, and absorb Him so that He can speak to us inwardly.

Then, we will speak what He speaks, utter the words that He utters, and we will be one with Him.

First, we enter into fellowship with Him, and then He anoints us with His burden for what He wants to do, for He reveals His intention to us.

May we honour the Lord by not going ahead of Him or remaining behind in what He wants to do; may we honour Him by inquiring of Him what He wants to do and then speaking what He is speaking to us.

The Secret to our Christian Life: setting our Mind on the Spirit to Activate the Law of the Spirit of Life

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace. Rom. 8:6

Rom. 8:6 is a real secret to our living the Christian life and remaining under the divine dispensing.

As believers in Christ, we need to realize that Satan as sin dwells in our flesh, in the members of our body, but God as the Spirit dwells in our spirit.

On one hand, when we live in the flesh, we are in death, for our mind is set on the things of the flesh and therefore we remain in death.

On the other hand, when we set our mind on the spirit, we enjoy life and peace, for we mind the things of the spirit and therefore enjoy the divine life.

In our daily experience, we need to learn to set our mind on our spirit. If we set our mind on the flesh and the things of the flesh, the issue is death.

The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. Rom. 8:16 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17 I had no rest in my spirit, for I did not find Titus my brother... 2 Cor. 2:13This is what Adam, our forefather, did; he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and death was the result.

But praise the Lord, we have a spirit, and God as the Spirit is in our spirit.

The processed and consummated Triune God as the law of the Spirit of life has been installed in our spirit, and we can set our mind on the spirit to enjoy life and peace.

What we need to do today is not to try to overcome the flesh or defeat the law of sin and of death in our members; we simply need to stand with the Spirit and rely upon Him by setting our mind on the spirit.

What we need is to activate the law of the Spirit of life in our spirit by setting our mind on the spirit. Instead of standing with the things of the flesh or minding the things of the flesh, we should just turn to the Lord.

Most Christians do not know this secret. They may come to the word of God and obtain many teachings, doctrines, and ethical and moral things, but they may not apply these by setting their mind on the spirit.

There are many teachings in the Word concerning the Lord, who He is, what He is, and what He has done; all these teachings are very necessary.

However, in a subjective way, in our experience, we need to apply Rom. 8:6.

We need to learn to take heed to the inner sense in our spirit by setting our mind on our spirit.

The Lord has done everything for us; He went through a process to become a life-giving Spirit and, by our repentance and belief into Him, He came into us and was installed in us as the law of the Spirit of life.

Now, all we need to do is activate the law of the Spirit of life by taking heed to the inner sense of the spirit.

The secret of our Christian life that we all must learn is found in Rom. 8:6; this verse is the most important verse in the Bible related to our spiritual experience of Christ as the law of the Spirit of life.

Brothers and sisters, whenever the mind is set on the flesh we are in death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace!

To set our mind on the flesh means that we take sides with the flesh, cooperate with the flesh, and we stand with the flesh.

To set the mind on the spirit is to take heed to the spirit, to take sides with the spirit, and to cooperate with the spirit.

Mal. 2:15-16 shows us that we need to stand with the spirit and pay attention to our spirit, taking heed to our spirit.

Although we must study the Bible with its narratives and instructions, the real secret is in Romans 8:6. We may be very knowledgeable of the Scriptures, but if we do not apply Romans 8:6, whatever we know and do will accomplish little. Day and night for many years I have been studying the Bible. I have not found another verse as important as Romans 8:6 as far as our spiritual experience is concerned. Now we must pray, “Lord, help me to choose You. Help me to rely on You, depend on You, and drop my effort and striving. Help me to never do anything by myself to overcome evil or temptation. Rather, help me always to rely on You, stand with You, and trust in You. Lord, I would never do anything to try to correct myself or deliver myself. Lord, help me always to thrust myself upon You, trust in You, and depend on You.” Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, vol. 2, “A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church (Part 2—Romans through Philemon),” pp. 233-235May we exercise to contact the Lord and set our mind on the spirit throughout the day.

May we practice touching the Lord in spirit and taking heed to the inner sense in our spirit; when we do this, the law of the Spirit of life will be activated in us.

When we take heed to the inner sense of our spirit, following the inner sense of life and peace, we are honouring the Lord as the Head of the Body for His unique move.

We shouldn’t initiate to do something for Him; we should simply set our mind on the spirit and take heed to the inner sense of the spirit, and we will honour the Lord as the Head of the Body.

The Apostle Paul in his service was a captive of Christ; he was not governed by his outward environment but by whether or not he had the rest in his spirit (2 Cor. 2:13).

His spirit was the most preeminent part of his being, and he was dominated, governed, directed, moved, and led by his mingled spirit (1 Cor. 2:15; Rom. 8:16; 1 Cor. 6:17; 2 Cor. 2:12-14; 7:5-6).

May our spirit be the most prominent part of our being, and may we be those who take heed to our spirit and set our mind on the spirit so that we may be dominated and governed by our mingled spirit.

May we learn the secret to the Christian life, setting our mind on the spirit, and may we practice taking heed to the inner sense of the spirit.

Lord Jesus, we want to learn the secret to the Christian life – setting our mind on the spirit! Grant us to realize that the mind set on the flesh is death but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace! Amen, Lord, we want to take heed to the inner sense of the spirit. We do not want to take sides with the flesh or cooperate with the flesh but stand with the spirit and pay attention to the spirit! Thank You, Lord, our spirit is mingled with the Lord! Hallelujah, Christ as the law of the Spirit of life is installed in our spirit, and we can activate this law of life by setting our mind on our spirit! Amen, Lord, make our spirit strong. Make our spirit the most preeminent part of our being. May we be moved, led, and directed by our mingled spirit so that may we honour the Lord as the Head of the Body for His unique move!

Our Living in the Divine Dispensing by the Enjoyment of the Law of the Spirit of Life is in the Body and for the Body

For the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death....And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to [His] purpose. Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers. Rom. 8:2, 28-29We need to learn to live uninterruptedly under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity so that we may enjoy the automatic operation of the law of the Spirit of life.

In the entire universe, the unique and eternal blessing is the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us by our enjoyment of the indwelling and automatic law of the Spirit of life for the building up of the Body of Christ.

God is the unique blessing in the universe, and He is dispensing Himself into us little by little, day by day.

Actually, He is dispensing Himself into us by coming into us to be the law of the Spirit of life which, once activated, operates and works in us to dispense God as life into all the parts of our inner being.

Romans 8 is at the center of the universe, for in this chapter we see that in Christ there’s no condemnation, for the law of the Spirit of life has freed us from the law of sin and of death.

When we are in our spirit, when we set our mind on the spirit, not only is our spirit life (Rom. 8:10) but even our mind becomes life.

Our mind not only receives the dispensing of the divine life – our mind becomes life.

Furthermore, as we live under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity day by day, even our mortal body is infused with life (Rom. 8:11).

God dispenses Himself into our spirit, soul, and body, and our living in the divine dispensing is in the Body and for the Body.

The divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in Rom. 8 is for the Body life in Rom. 12.

I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect. Rom. 12:1-2How can we have the Body of Christ in a practical, actual way? It is by the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in Rom. 8.

As we remain under the divine dispensing day by day and enjoy the operation of the law of the Spirit of life, we live in the Body and for the Body, and our being and living are for the building up of the Body of Christ.

Ultimately, our living in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity by the enjoyment of the indwelling and automatic law of the Spirit of life is in the Body of Christ and for the Body of Christ (Rom. 8:2, 28-29; 12:1-2; 11:36; 16:27; Phil. 1:19; cf. Gal. 1:15-16; 2:20; 4:19, 26-28, 31).

And the goal of our living in the divine dispensing by setting our mind on the spirit to enjoy the inner operation of the law of the Spirit of life is for us to become God in life, nature, and expression but not in the Godhead to accomplish the goal of His eternal economy – the New Jerusalem.

Today we enjoy the divine dispensing, and for eternity we will continue to enjoy the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity as the river of water of life, the tree of life, and the light of life, which is the Triune God flowing into us and through us for eternity. Hallelujah!

May we learn to cooperate with the Lord today so that in our daily living we may activate the law of the Spirit of life, and this law will carry out the divine dispensing from morning to evening.

It is by means of this divine dispensing that we can live in the Body and for the Body, and we can be consummated as the New Jerusalem.

Lord Jesus, we want to live in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity by the enjoyment of the indwelling and automatic law of the Spirit of life. Keep us turning to You to cooperate with the inner operating Triune God as the law of the Spirit of life. May our living be in the divine dispensing and in the Body and for the Body! Amen, Lord, we set our mind on our spirit! Help us to choose You, Lord. Help us never to do anything by ourselves to overcome evil or temptation. Remind us to always rely on You, stand with You, and trust in You. Lord, we don’t want to do anything to correct ourselves or deliver ourselves; we simply set our mind on our spirit! We thrust ourselves upon You, we trust in You, and we depend on You. We want to live under the divine dispensing so that we may live in and for the Body for the accomplishing of Your goal, the New Jerusalem!

Satan dwells in the members of our body, but God is in our spirit. This brings us to Romans 8:6. This verse contains a real secret. In this verse there are three things: the mind, the flesh, and the spirit. Now our experience depends on whom or what we would set ourselves, that is, our mind. If we set our mind on the flesh, that is, on Satan, the issue is death. Adam did this when he partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, with the same result of death. However, if we set our mind on God as life, the result is life and peace. As Christians, there is no need for us to try to overcome the flesh, and there is no need to try to defeat the law of sin; we cannot do that. What we need to do is simply stand with the Spirit and rely upon Him. What we need is the deliverance in the spirit. We must stand with the spirit, set our mind on the spirit, and rely upon the Lord. Then we will be delivered. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, vol. 2, “A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church (Part 2—Romans through Philemon),” pp. 232-233

May we always be willing to apply what the Lord has made available in us.

We now have Jesus as the Spirit in our spirit. He is our divine “electricity.”

But we must be willing to apply it.

May the Lord grant us the vision of Rom 8; that our experience depends on whom or what we would set ourselves.

We need to stand with the Spirit and rely on Him.

O Lord! Operate in us the willingness to apply the secret revealed in Rom 8 and to practice setting our mind on the spirit and to live in this reality all the time.
