The Divine Trinity for the Divine Dispensing to Build the Church as the Body of Christ

Always rejoice, unceasingly pray, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thes. 5:16-18

Every chapter of Ephesians reveals the Divine Trinity for the divine dispensing, that is, for the dispensing of God into man to produce the church as the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem.

According to the entire revelation of the sixty books of the Bible, the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing.

The Father, the Son, and the Spirit are revealed in the entire Bible for the distribution of God into His chosen people.

God is Triune so that He can dispense Himself into us, that is, to work Himself into us.

He is not Triune merely for our mental understanding or theological apprehension but for our enjoyment and experience of the Divine Trinity.

God desires to work Himself into us so that we may enjoy Him and be built up to be the Body of Christ and prepared to be the bride of Christ. Hallelujah!

This is for us to be prepared for His second coming when the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ for Him to reign forever and ever (Rev. 11:15).

Praise the Lord! And the book of Ephesians in particular is structured with the Divine Trinity, showing to us in every chapter how the Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing of Himself into us so that the church may be produced and built up as the Body of Christ, consummating in the New Jerusalem.

In chapter 1 of Ephesians, we see how God the Father chose and predestinated us in eternity, God the Son redeemed us, and God the Spirit sealed us as a pledge, thus imparting Himself into us for the formation of the church.

Furthermore, the transcending Christ transmits Himself continually into us to produce and build up the church as the Body of Christ, the fullness of the One who fills all and in all.

In chapter 2 of Ephesians, we see that in the Divine Trinity all the believers – both the Jewish and the Gentile believers – have access unto God the Father through God the Son in God the Spirit.

The issue of the Father’s dispensing is the masterpiece of God, the issue of the Son’s dispensing is the new man, and the Spirit’s bringing us to the Father results in the building up of the church as the Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

In chapter 3 of Ephesians we see the climax of the believers’ experience and participation in God in His Divine Trinity.

The Father strengthens us into our inner man through the Spirit so that Christ may make His home in our hearts through faith, with the result that we are filled unto all the fullness of God to be the church as the Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

In this article, we want to see how the Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing as revealed in Ephesians chapters 4, 5, and 6.

The Processed God as the Spirit, the Lord, and the Father is Mingled with the Body of Christ so that we may Experience the Divine Trinity

One Body and one Spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Eph. 4:4-6Ephesians 4:4-6 portrays how the processed God as the Spirit, the Lord, and the Father is mingled with the Body of Christ so that all the members of the Body may experience the Divine Trinity.

First, we see one Body and then one Spirit, one Lord, one God and Father of all.

The Triune God – the Father, the Son, and the Spirit – has been developed into the Body and is mingled with the Body of Christ.

There is one Body and one Spirit, even as we were called in one hope of our calling.

There is one Lord, one faith and one baptism. There is one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

With the one Body and one Spirit there is one hope; this hope is that we will be transfigured one day to have the same glorious body as the Lord does.

Today we have Christ dwelling in us as the Spirit, and this Spirit is the hope of glory; we are hoping that one day even our mortal body will be glorified!

One day the indwelling Christ will be manifested in glory, and this is the hope to the Body with the Spirit.

There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. The Body is mingled with the Spirit, and the Spirit is the Lord (2 Cor. 3:17); these two cannot be separated.

When Christ comes, the Father comes, and when the Spirit comes, both the Son and the Father come with Him.

With the Lord we have one faith and one baptism; faith joins us to the Lord and baptism separates us from the world, terminating us from Adam.

When we believed into the Lord Jesus, we entered into an organic union with Him; in this organic union with Him we’re joined to the Lord as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17).

Baptism has two aspects; on the one hand, we have been baptised into Christ, and on the other hand, we have been terminated from Adam.

We were born in the old man, in Adam, but by baptism we were transferred out of Adam into Christ.

Eph. 4:6 speaks of the Father who is over all and through all and in all; this points to a mingling of the Triune God with the Body of Christ.

The fact that the Father is above all and through all and in all shows that God is triune; even God the Father is triune!

In Ephesians 4 Paul first speaks of the one Body and then of the one Spirit, the one Lord, and the one God, the Father. This indicates that the Triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit—has been developed in the Body. When Paul speaks of the one God and Father of all in verse 6, he says that the Father is over all, through all, and in all. This points to a mingling of the Triune God with the Body. How is it possible for God the Father to be in three positions—above all, through all, and in all? This is possible because God is triune. Even God the Father is triune…God the Father possesses all the positions of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. He is above all as the Father, He is through all as the Son, and He is in all as the Spirit. Hence, the church as the mystical Body is mingled with the Triune God. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1983, vol. 2, “The Divine Dispensing of the Divine Trinity,” pp. 317-319God the Father possesses all the positions of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, for He is above all as the Father, He is through all as the Son, and He is in all as the Spirit.

We as the church are the mystical Body of Christ who is mingled with the Triune God. Hallelujah!

The divine dispensing of God the Father in His being over all, of the Son in His being through all, and of the Spirit in His being in all enables all the members of the Body of Christ to experience and enjoy the Triune God.

These verses reveal four persons – the one Body, one Spirit, one Lord, and one God and Father – who are mingled together as one entity to be the organic Body of Christ.

Wow, the Triune God and the Body are four-in-one, for the Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing and, by receiving this dispensing, we’re organically joined to the Triune God to be one entity, a four-in-one entity, the Body of Christ!

The Body of Christ is the mingling of the Divine Trinity with the tripartite, regenerated, and being transformed and glorified man.

This mingling of the Triune God with man produces the organic Body of Christ.

In this entity, Christ is the Head and we the church are the Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

Lord, unveil us to see how the processed God as the Spirit, the Lord, and the Father is mingled with the Body of Christ so that all the members of the Body may experience the Divine Trinity! Amen, Lord, grant us to realize that the Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing of Himself into man! We want to receive, enjoy, and remain under the divine dispensing so that we may be mingled with the Triune God to become the Body of Christ! Amen, Lord, You are our Head and we are Your Body. We are mingled with You and You are mingled with us. Praise the Lord for the Body of Christ, the four-in-one entity, the Triune God mingled with man!

Praise the Lord with the Songs of the Spirit, giving thanks to God the Father

Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and psalming with your heart to the Lord, Giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to [our] God and Father. Eph. 5:19-20Chapter 5 of Ephesians exhorts us as believers in Christ to praise the Lord with the songs of God the Spirit and give thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father (Eph. 5:19-20).

Even in our singing, in our speaking, and in our meetings, we can participate in and remain under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

The Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing, and we experience this not only in a personal way in our daily, private, intimate experience but even corporately, as the Body of Christ, the meetings of the church.

We can praise the Lord, God the Son, with the songs of God the Spirit, and we can give thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, to God the Father.

As we do this in the meetings of the church, the Triune God is doing His wonderful dispensing work.

The dispensing of the Divine Trinity has to take place in our daily living and in our meeting life.

This is to praise and thank the processed Triune God in His Divine Trinity for our enjoyment of Him as the Triune God.

As we daily enjoy and experience the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, we are filled with the Lord and, when we come together, we overflow with praising, singing, and giving thanks, thus participating in the divine dispensing.

Through the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, we are constituted as children of God, walking in God as love and light (Eph. 5:2, 8).

Our life needs to be one of singing and praising; as 1 Thes. 5 says, we need to always rejoice, unceasingly pray, and in everything give thanks.

We should not grieve the Spirit of God but rather, remain under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity all throughout the day, and we should praise the Lord, thank Him, and speak well of Him with praises and singing.

Our Christian life and practice need to be totally wrapped up in the divine dispensing.

This is the wonderful church life: a life in the divine dispensing.

Yes, we have an ordinary daily life, but it is full of the divine dispensing as we enjoy and experience this wonderful Triune God.

As we enjoy the divine dispensing daily, we are filled in our spirit with the Spirit as the divine wine (Eph. 5:18).

If we’re filled in our spirit in this way, we will speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

We will be singing and psalming with our hearts to the Lord, and we will be giving thanks at all times and for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father. Praise the Lord!

Lord Jesus, keep us enjoying the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity so that we may be filled in our spirit with the Spirit as the divine wine. Amen, Lord, we want to be filled in spirit so that we speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs! We love You, Lord, and we love Your word. We want to be filled with You so that we may be singing and psalming with our heart to the Lord! Amen, Lord, we praise You! Amen, thank You Father for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord! Thank You, Father, Hallelujah!

Fight the Spiritual Warfare by being Empowered in the Lord, Put on the whole Armour of the Father, and Wield the Sword of the Spirit

Finally, be empowered in the Lord and in the might of His strength. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil...And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which [Spirit] is the word of God. Eph. 6:10-11, 17Chapter 6 of Ephesians instructs us to fight spiritual warfare by being empowered in the Lord, putting on the whole armour of God the Father, and wielding the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:10-11, 17).

Even in our spiritual warfare, we fight in the divine dispensing.

The Divine Trinity is for the divine dispensing, and even as we fight the spiritual battle, we remain under the divine dispensing.

The church as God’s warrior fights in the divine dispensing.

We shouldn’t go and try to fight if we’re not under the divine dispensing, for we will be defeated.

We need to put on the whole armour of God the Father, be empowered in the Lord (God the Son), and wield the sword of the Spirit.

In our hand, we need to hold the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the Word of God (v. 17).

We need to put on the whole armour of God, which only the Body of Christ can wear; we can’t wear the armour of God as individual believers, except when we’re in the Body of Christ.

In the Body we can do battle, we can stand, and we can withstand to defeat all the stratagems of the devil.

God the Son is the power within us to empower us in the Lord for the spiritual battle.

God the Father realized in the Son is the armour upon us, covering us for the spiritual battle as we remain the Body of Christ.

God the Spirit is the sword, and this Spirit is the word of God.

This is the believer’s experience and enjoyment of the Triune God even in spiritual warfare.

Even when we fight the spiritual warfare, we need to remain under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

Christ, God the Son, is the power within us. The Father is the armour upon us. The Spirit is the sword, who is the word of God.

The only defensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God.

This means that we fight by speaking the word of God, the living word of God which has become the sword of the Spirit to first kill the enemy within us and then slay the adversary outside of us.

The speaking of the divine word of God is the sword that slays the enemy.

As the church who is the corporate warrior empowered inwardly and covered with the armour of God outwardly, we should use the sword to fight against God’s enemy; this is all under the divine dispensing.

Lord Jesus, keep us under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity so that we may fight the spiritual warfare! Amen, may we be empowered in the Lord and in the might of His strength! Amen, Lord, we want to remain in the Body and put on the whole armour of God the Father realized in Christ. Amen, Lord, keep us in the enjoyment of Christ in the word of God so that the word of God becomes the sword we wield to defeat the enemy! Lord, keep us in the enjoyment and experience of the divine dispensing of the Triune God even in the spiritual warfare!

With the Lord we have one faith and one baptism. Faith joins us to the Lord. When we believe in the Lord, we enter into an organic union with Him. In this life union we are joined to the Lord as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17). Faith joins us to the Lord because we have believed into Him. Baptism has two aspects. On the one hand, we have been baptized into Christ; on the other hand, we have been terminated from Adam. We were born in Adam, but by baptism we were transferred out of Adam into Christ. Therefore, negatively, baptism signifies termination, and positively, it signifies union. By faith and baptism we have been transferred out of Adam into Christ. Now we have an organic union with Christ the Lord. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1983, vol. 2, “The Divine Dispensing of the Divine Trinity,” p. 329

The Body is mingled with the Spirit. and the Spirit cannot be separated from the Son and the Father.

God’s intention is to mingle Himself with His sons in an eternal corporate union.

What mystery! In the one Body and one Spirit, there is one hope of being glorified in Christ and, because the Body is mingled with the Spirit, we also have the Lord.

And with the Lord we the one faith which joins us to the Lord, and the one baptism which signifies our eternal union with Christ.

How wonderful & enlightening is Eph 4:4-6. May we steadfastly continue to exercise our spirit of faith in order to be completely transferred out of Adam.

Dear brother, through Ephesians 4 we see the that the Triune God – the Father, the Son and the Spirit have developed into the Body.

As God the Father He is over all, as God the Son He is through all and as God the Spirit He is in all.

This Triune God as the Divine Trinity is for our experience and enjoyment through the divine dispensing. Hallelujah!

Even in the matter of spiritual warfare, as we are empowered in the Lord, with the Father as the armour upon us and the Spirit, the sword, the word of God we can enjoy and experience such a one fighting as we speak the word through the divine dispensing to slay the enemy!

Praise our God the Three-in-One!

Eph. 4:4-6 One Body and one Spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

One Lord there is oneness in the body of Christ as there is oneness in the Triune God.

Hallelujah!
