Enjoy Christ as our Life Supply by Breathing in the Lord as the Spirit in His Word

For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and were all given to drink one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:13

As believers in Christ, we live in the Divine Trinity by enjoying Christ as our life supply; we live in the Divine Trinity by breathing the Lord in, by eating and drinking Him, and by taking Him in as our life and life supply.

This week in our morning revival we come to another topic entitled, Living in the Divine Trinity (2) – Living in the Divine Trinity by Enjoying Christ as Our Life Supply, by Living Christ for His Magnification, and by the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in Our Spirit.

We have seen the divine economy with the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in the divine move and in our experience.

Whether we realize this or not, from the beginning of our Christian life we have been involved in the divine economy, and we have been under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

Right at the moment when we were baptised, no matter the words that were used, we were put into, baptised, and immersed into the Triune God – in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

At the time of our baptism we were baptised into the name, the reality, the person of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, that is, into the Triune God. From that day, it is God’s desire that we all would live in and with the Divine Trinity.

What does it mean to live in the Divine Trinity? It is to abide in Him, to dwell in Him, to remain in Him as our home; for us to live in the Divine Trinity is to abide in the Lord and take Him as our home.

May we learn to abide in the Lord, remain in Him, and dwell in Him as our home. Everything connected to us, everything related to us, is in our home; everything related to our spiritual existence, being, and living, is in Christ as our home.

Especially these days during the COVID19 pandemic when many of us work from home, our home and our office are becoming one and the same thing, and we are confined within our home.

Our home is a type of the Triune God, who has become our home and will be our home for eternity. To live in the Divine Trinity is for us to abide in Christ as the Triune God.

This week we want to further see that for us to live in the Divine Trinity we need to have the life supply – we need to enjoy Christ as our life-supply by eating, drinking, and breathing in the Lord.

Then, we will live Christ for His magnification by the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

And the grace of the Lord Jesus, which is just the processed and consummated Triune God coming to be our life and enjoyment, supplies us in our spirit to live in the Divine Trinity in our daily life.

We Live in the Divine Trinity by Enjoying Christ as our Life Supply, by Eating, Drinking, and Breathing in the Lord

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63

The most crucial thing in a home is eating; nothing is more crucial in a home as food.

For us to live in the Divine Trinity as our home, we need to enjoy Christ as our food, that is, enjoy Christ as our life supply.

Humanly speaking, you have a nice, big home, but if you don’t have the food supply, the members of the household will not be happy.

For example, when a young couple moves into a new home, they are so happy; however, before they unpack all things, there is the need for food, for food and drink are absolutely necessary.

The Lord Jesus said that, as the living Father sent Him and He lived because of the Father, so we who eat Him will live because of Him (John 6:57-58).

For us to live in the Divine Trinity, we need to eat the Lord Jesus, taking Him in as our food; we need to enjoy Christ as our life supply and live because of the food we eat.

God in Christ as the Spirit is now eatable – He is good for us to eat, for He passed through incarnation, crucifixion, death, and resurrection to become our food, our very life supply.

We eat the Lord by eating His word; it is the Spirit who gives life, and the words which the Lord speaks to us are spirit and are life (John 6:63).

The more we eat the Lord’s words by praying over them and musing over them, the more we are inwardly supplied by Him to live in the Divine Trinity.

May we not take the Bible as a book of letters but rather, take it as our food by exercising our spirit to enjoy Christ as our life supply.

We should not only study the Word of God but also breathe the Lord in as the divine breath; He has breathed Himself out in His word, and we can breathe Him in by exercising our spirit as we read the Word (2 Tim. 3:16).

If we don’t breathe the divine breath by exercising our spirit, our study of the Bible will only give us more knowledge and not more of God.

But when we exercise our spirit to breathe in God by coming to His word, we are enlivened by the divine, heavenly, and spiritual elements of God’s life.

When we come to any portion of the Scriptures, we need to contact the Lord in His word through the exercise of our spirit.

As the living Father has sent Me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread shall live forever. John 6:57-58 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Tim. 3:16We come to the Bible not only to gain more knowledge of God but even more, for us to inhale the divine breath and receive the life supply.

The Lord intends to be the fountain, the source of living waters to us, His people, so that He may satisfy us for our enjoyment; this is seen in Jer. 2:13 in type, and the whole New Testament develops this.

The goal of our enjoyment of Christ and being satisfied with Him is that the church as the increase of God is produced so that God may have a fullness for His expression.

This is what is in God’s heart – this is His good pleasure, His heart’s desire in His economy (Eph. 1:5, 9).

We need to eat the Lord, drink Him, and breathe the Lord in by coming to His word and having fellowship with Him in prayer. He is our spiritual food, the reality of manna (Exo. 16:14-18); we need to daily take Christ in as our life supply.

He is also the living water flowing out of the cleft rock (Exo. 17:6) for us to drink; out of the smitten Christ on the cross flows the Spirit and the living water for us to drink.

The more we eat the Lord, drink the Spirit, and breathe in the Lord, the more we are produced to be part of His enlargement, His fullness, for His expression.

The more we eat, drink, and breathe in the Lord, the more we live in the Divine Trinity, and the more He gains a corporate expression on earth.

Lord Jesus, we come to You to enjoy You and take You in as our life supply. We want to live in the Divine Trinity by taking Christ as our life supply day by day. Amen, Lord, we come to Your word to eat You as our food, drink You as our living water, and breathe You in as the divine breath. Keep our being open to You, dear Lord, as we fellowship with You in the Word and through prayer. We want not only to read and understand Your word but also take You in as our life and life supply so that we may be satisfied with You and be part of Your corporate expression, Your enlargement and expansion!

We need to Breathe in the Lord as the Spirit in His Word to Enjoy His Riches and Live in the Divine Trinity

I called upon Your name, O Jehovah, / From the lowest pit. You have heard my voice; do not hide / Your ear at my breathing, at my cry. Lam. 3:55-56On the day of His resurrection, the Lord Jesus came and breathed Himself as the Holy Spirit, the holy breath (John 20:22); He was processed and consummated to be a life-giving Spirit, and we as His believers can breathe Him in by simply exercising our spirit.

Now we can continually receive this pneumatic Christ as the breath of God so that He can become rich to us by our calling on His name (Gen. 4:26; Rom. 10:12-13).

He is so available to us today – He is the very breath, the Spirit, ready to dispense Himself into us. The top way for us to receive the Lord as the holy breath is by exercising our spirit to call on His name.

In Lam. 3:55-56 Jeremiah called on the name of the Lord, even cried out, from the lowest pit, and he implored the Lord not to hide His ear from his cry, at his breathing.

Our calling on the name of the Lord is like spiritual breathing; we breathe all the time, but now and again we need to have some deep breathing.

We need to have some spiritual deep breathing, calling on the name of the Lord not only with a normal voice but with a crying out, crying out to the Lord!

In this way, we remove the clogs, obstacles, and insulation that is in our inner being, and we breathe Him in as our life and life supply.

The best shortest prayer for us to breathe the Lord in is to call on the name of the Lord, Oh Lord Jesus!

May we call on the Lord one thousand times a day! He is not upset when we call on His name – rather, He loves us, He wants us to love Him, and He likes it when we call His name over and over!

Enosh realized he is a frail man, and at his time men began to call on the name of the Lord. Paul, when he was still Saul, went out to bind and lock up those who were calling on the name of the Lord.

Calling on the name of the Lord is not something new among us today; it is a practice of contacting the Lord to enjoy His riches and have His presence that lasted for thousands of years.

Each one of us needs to have a personal recovery of our calling on the name of the Lord; we need to find a time and a place to cry out to the Lord Jesus.

We need to ask Him to show us His beauty, His preciousness, His loveliness, and His sweetness.

The Lord breathed Himself as the Holy Spirit (the Holy Breath) into His disciples on the day of His resurrection (John 20:22); now we can continually receive the pneumatic Christ as the breath of God so that He can become rich to us by our calling upon His name (Lam. 3:55-56; Gen. 4:26; Rom. 10:12-13; Hymns, #255); we can also inhale the Scripture, the word of God, as the breathing out of God (2 Tim. 3:16); because His spoken words are the embodiment of the Spirit of life, when we receive His words by exercising our spirit, we get the Spirit, who is life (John 6:57, 63). 2021 Thanksgiving Conference, outline 3We need to practice calling on the name of the Lord.

May we all have such an experience, being ushered into the sweetness of calling on the name of the Lord.

We may even be beside ourselves before the Lord in our calling on His name, for His love constrains us to be beside ourselves to Him, while we are sober before others.

By calling on the name of the Lord, we not only stir up our love for Him, but we also take in Christ as our life supply.

May we abide in the Lord by abiding in His love (John 15:9); may we abide in the Lord by calling on His name.

We need to let go of our inner being, our inhibitions, our discouragements and failures, and just call on the name of the Lord! Oh, Lord Jesus!

We need to let go of our failures, our past situations, and our weaknesses, and just call, Oh Lord Jesus!

We may have had the experience of calling on the Lord before, but we need to continue to have such an experience day by day, even moment by moment; we need to call on the name of the Lord, again and again, to stir our spirit up!

May the divine fire within our spirit burn in us and may we be recovered to loving the Lord and taking Christ as our life supply!

Lord Jesus, recover the matter of calling on the name of the Lord among us today so that we may enjoy all Your riches! Hallelujah, Christ is rich to all who call on His name! Amen, oh Lord Jesus, we call on Your name, and we even cry out to You! We let go of our weaknesses, our tiredness, our failures, and our past, and we just call on Your name! Lord Jesus! Dear Lord Jesus, draw us to Yourself. Attract us and capture us. Lord Jesus, show us Your beauty and Your loveliness. Captivate us with Your sweetness and preciousness. We love You, Lord Jesus! Make us Your crazy lovers today. We want to live in the Divine Trinity by calling on the name of the Lord to breathe in the Lord and take Christ as our life supply today!

    – Just to touch the Word for knowledge / Is to take the very way / By which Eve was lured by Satan / And by knowledge led astray; / But as life to take the Scripture / Is the tree of life to eat; / Thus the Word we must be taking / In the spirit as our meat. (Hymns #816)
