having ordinary days in the divine dispensing for the building up of the Body of Christ

Our Christian life is not a spectacular life, filled with all kind of amazing and out-of-the-ordinary events, but it is a normal daily life under the divine dispensing. The Triune God has been processed and consummated so that in His Divine Trinity He may dispense all that He is into us – and this takes place in a daily way, in a normal way, and even in a fine and detailed way.

As we turn to Him here and there, He dispenses Himself into us little by little, day by day, bit by bit, causing us to grow in the divine life in a normal way!

Not expecting spectacular days or results

Just as our human life, our Christian life is not filled with spectacular things or extraordinary experiences. On the one hand, from time to time, such experiences may occur, but they are not of a daily occurrence.

We shouldn’t expect to have a spectacular time each day in receiving the divine dispensing. We shouldn’t expect spectacular results in our Christian life. Rather, we need to be content and satisfied with ordinary days filled with regular and normal practices in our human life under the divine dispensing!

We love our time in the morning with the Lord – seeking His face, touching Him, spending time with Him in a personal way, and being revived by Him every morning.

After such a time – which is not spectacular but is a normal experience in the divine life – we go ahead in our daily life and live our life with its daily routine, activities, to-do’s, etc in the divine dispensing. We go to school, we go to work, we travel, we visit, whatever we do during the day, we live ordinary days in the divine dispensing, receiving the fine and sweet dispensing of the Triune God!

Ordinary days in the divine dispensing

We all can testify that we cannot “feel” that the Triune God is in us in a spectacular or extraordinary way. There’s a living Person in us, and His speaking to us, His dispensing in us, is so normal and so fine. We should be blessed to be satisfied with ordinary normal routine days in the divine dispensing.

We don’t know what’s really going on within us, but as we turn to the Lord, as we fellowship with Him, as we open to Him, and as we listen to His voice within us, there’s an increase of the element of God in our being daily.

On the one hand, the all-inclusive, life-giving Spirit is in us, operating in us all the time as the consummation, totality, and aggregate of the entire Triune God. On the other hand, our Christian life is composed of day after day of living and being in the divine dispensing.

Though this dispensing is normal and fine, almost imperceptible, it is actually the Spirit moving in us, anointing us, watering us, feeding us, satisfying us, strengthening us, comforting us, saturating us, and permeating us! Normal, fine, yet so rich!

Growing into the Head in the dispensing

As we receive the divine dispensing daily in a normal, routine, ordinary way, we have the riches of the Head – Christ – dispensed and deposited into us and we grow in all things into the Head (Eph. 4:15).

Then out from the Head all the Body – joined together through every joint of the rich supply and knit together through the operation of each part in its measure – causes the growth of the Body! We grow in life and the Body grows by our daily receiving and being under the divine dispensing – unto the building up of the Body in love!

How we need to have a change in our way of thinking and expecting of the Christian life to be! The Triune God as the Father in the Son and by the Spirit is continually dispensing all that He is, He has, and He has accomplished into us – so that we may grow into the Head in all things.

This is by a daily life and a daily living, with all our activities and things, in the divine dispensing. It is by this thorough step-by-step dispensing that the Body grows and builds itself up in love!

Lord Jesus, thank You for another day in the divine dispensing. Thank You we can spend time with You and be infused with You! O, Lord, may our daily life with our daily living be under Your daily, moment-by-moment, normal dispensing! Keep dispensing all that You are into our being. Save us from desiring or hoping for spectacular events or things. Bless us with many days under the normal and continual divine dispensing of the Triune God!
