Learning to be Satisfied with a Life of Ordinary Days in the Divine Dispensing

...Christ in you, the hope of glory. Col. 1:27

May we all learn to be satisfied with a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing.

As believers in Christ, we need to learn to be satisfied with a life of ordinary days in the regular and normal experiences in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

Our Christian life is not filled with spectacular and extraordinary events; rather, we have daily, normal, regular experiences, but all our experiences can be and are in the divine dispensing.

The divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity is going on all the time.

God went through a process not only to redeem us back and to reconcile us to Himself but even more, to become as available as the breath, the air that we breathe.

The Triune God was incarnated, went through human living, passed through death, entered into resurrection, and ascended above all things, and now He is the life-giving breath, the very air that we can breathe in.

Romans tells us that we don’t need to ask, Who will go up in the heavens to bring Christ down to us, or, Who will go into the abyss to raise Him up, for He is right here with us and in us.

Whenever we call on the name of the Lord, the Lord is right there in us and with us, for He is as available and as near as the air that we breathe.

We don’t even have to think about the air we breathe: we simply breathe the air in.

The Lord is right there with us where we are, available and near, so ready to be received by us and enjoyed by us.

He simply wants to dispense Himself into us.

And His divine dispensing is not only from outside to inside; He not only wants to come into us but also to spread in all the parts of our being.

On one hand, we need to eat the Lord in His word by reading and praying His word so that He would come into us.

On the other hand, once He is in us, we need to allow Him to spread from our spirit into our mind, emotion, and will until He saturates all our inward parts with Himself.

There’s not only a dispensing that goes on from outside to inside but also a dispensing going on from within to within, for from our spirit the Lord is spreading into our inner being.

And eventually, He will spread even to our body to saturate our mortal body and make it the body of His glory through His Spirit who indwells us.

He came into our spirit and was installed there as the law of the Spirit of life (Rom. 8:2); now He operates in us and seeks to spread, seep into, and saturate all the inward parts of our being.

When we just open to Him a little, He spreads a little more.

When we call on His name, He grows more in us. He simply needs our cooperation.

He doesn’t need us to work for Him or do great things for God; He simply wants us to open to Him and let Him dispense Himself into every part of our being to saturate us with Himself.

Learn to be Satisfied with a Life of Ordinary Days in the Regular and Normal Experiences in the Divine Dispensing

Blessed be the Lord, who day by day loads us with good; / God is our salvation. Selah. Psa. 68:19

As believers in Christ, we need to realize that all the time, non-stop, continually, and even eternally, there is a divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity going on.

And this dispensing goes on not only outside of us but even more, inside of us, for we have the Triune God installed in us as the law of the Spirit who gives life.

We need to learn to be satisfied with a life of ordinary days in the regular and normal experiences in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity (Rom. 8:2, 6, 10-11; Eph. 3:16-17).

Right now, in the next moment, and every moment of the day, we have regular and normal experiences in the divine dispensing.

For the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death...For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace...But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you. Rom. 8:2, 6, 10-11We should not expect that amazing things would happen; rather, we should be satisfied with living a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing.

This dispensing goes on in our being little by little and day by day. It is a quiet and calm dispensing.

We can liken this dispensing to the human life; the human life, the life we have by birth, is quiet, calm, and continuous.

Our human life just grows in us, develops in us, and arrives at maturity without any outward spectacular events.

We just grow in life, and we can move, sit, stand, walk, speak, and do many things.

Similarly in the spiritual life, as we are living and walking in the Spirit, we are calm, quiet, and peaceful, and we live a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing.

There is an inward sense of life, the sense of our spirit, and we can sense that there’s a little dispensing going on.

Day by day, the Lord is working Himself into us little by little, quietly, and in a normal way.

It would be so wonderful if all the saints throughout the earth would learn to be satisfied with ordinary days in the regular and normal experiences in the divine dispensing.

If we just remain under the divine dispensing and live in spirit, we will undergo many wonderful things, our inner being will be reconstituted with God Himself, and we will arrive at maturity.

We need to learn to receive the divine dispensing little by little, day by day; daily we need to receive this dispensing again and again in a slow and steady way (2 Cor. 13:14; Matt. 6:11; Psa. 68:19).

If we would just open our vessel to the Lord day by day to receive the divine dispensing, accepting the daily experiences in the divine dispensing, He would really work Himself into us and accomplish what He desires in us.

When we come together, after experiencing and enjoying the divine dispensing in our daily living, there will be more of Christ added into us, and the divine life will flow in and out of us to other members of the Body.

Very few spiritual things are accomplished in us once and for all; rather, as with our physical life, most spiritual things must be repeated again and again (John 6:57; 4:14; 1 Cor. 10:3-4).

We need to daily eat and drink the Lord, and we need to exercise to breathe Him in day by day.

Our daily living needs to be filled with enjoying the Lord, and we can never graduate from eating, drinking, and breathing Jesus.

Today the One whom we believe in and worship… has become the Spirit, the ultimate consummation of the Triune God, for the purpose that we would partake of His divine dispensing. This is the mysterious economy of God, which is to dispense and to distribute to God’s children all the rich elements of God. Now this God has been processed and has become a holy breath, everywhere filling the earth. Even while you are preaching the gospel to others, He is in your mouth and in your heart. He will come out of your heart and will enter the mouth of those who listen (Rom. 10:8-9). He is the Holy Spirit, the Triune God, Jesus Christ, becoming life and everything to those who believe and receive Him. He is so wonderful. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1990, vol. 3, “A Deeper Study of the Divine Dispensing,” pp. 388-389Just as humanly we need to breathe, eat, and drink so that we may live, so spiritually we need to practice calling on the name of the Lord, eating Him in His word, and drinking the Spirit as the living water again and again.

Whatever God gives to us is not given all at once so that it becomes unbearable; instead, the divine supply is given bit by bit.

God doesn’t just download the entire Divine Trinity into our being all at once; rather; He dispenses the riches of His being into us little by little, day by day.

As we enjoy the Lord in the daily and regular days under the divine dispensing, we will grow in life, advance with the Lord, and arrive at maturity.

Humanly speaking, we don’t eat a meal for a whole week or for a whole month, and even eating once a day may be hard. God’s way is little by little, bit by bit, and day by day.

May we learn to open to the Lord in all the little things of our daily life and be satisfied with ordinary days in the divine dispensing.

May we just open to Him and partake of Him a little here and a little there, a little in the morning and then throughout the day, so that we may eat Him, drink Him, and breathe Him in.

Lord Jesus, we want to learn to be satisfied with a life of ordinary days in the regular and normal experiences in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity. Amen, Lord, we love You and we open to You. Keep our being open to You today so that we may enjoy You little by little, day by day. We just turn our heart to You. We want to walk according to the Spirit and allow You to work Yourself into us little by little every day. Lord, we don’t desire to do great things or experience spectacular things in our Christian life; we just want to remain open to the divine dispensing every day! Grant us to be those who are satisfied with a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing. Keep us eating and drinking You, breathing You and partaking of You in a normal way day by day. May our life today be in this regular, normal, continual divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

We need to Live a Steady and Normal Christian life of Receiving the Divine Dispensing

As the living Father has sent Me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me. John 6:57

When Christ came into us, our whole life changed; we now have another Person, a living One, who lives in us.

But the way He operates in us is not mighty and spectacular but quiet and gentle.

Just as our physical life operates in us quietly and gently, causing us to go on living and to advance and grow in life, so the divine life operates in us quietly and gently.

While we are going to work, taking care of things around the house, or relaxing and taking a nap, the divine dispensing is going on.

The Lord is in our spirit, and He is our life. The fact that He is our life means that He is in us in a quiet, normal, and steady way to grow in us, develop in us, and increase in our being.

But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life. John 4:14 And all ate the same spiritual food, And all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed them, and the rock was Christ. 1 Cor. 10:3-4Some people think that being a Christian is something supernatural and that God needs to do spectacular and great things outwardly for us because we’re His people.

Some Christians even think that you need to have deep and high experiences of God in an extraordinary way, even being transcendent in our experience of Him because He is God and He’s supernatural.

Even some other Christians think that God is dealing with us in a severe way, rebuking us and dealing with us because we’re so flawed, sinful, and fallen.

But our Christian experience, as we all can testify, is nothing spectacular, great, or supernatural.

Rather, the Lord is within us in a normal, steady, and quiet way, always waiting for us to contact Him so that He would dispense Himself into us.

He is our life and our life supply, and He wants to be our everything. He is our person, our Head, our Husband, our Lord, and our Savior.

He wants to operate in us and work Himself into all the parts of our inner being. But all this is in a normal, quiet, and gentle way.

The processed and consummated Triune God is within us not in a spectacular way but in an ordinary way.

For this reason, we all need to live a steady and normal Christian life in the divine dispensing (Col. 1:27; 3:4; Eph. 3:16-17).

The less special and the more normal we are, the better it is.

We need to be satisfied with ordinary days in the divine dispensing of the divine Trinity.

We need to get up every day, shower, do our hygiene, have breakfast, go to work, take care of things, and be with our family in a normal way day by day under the divine dispensing.

As we do all these things, the divine dispensing is going on within us, and we can open to the Lord’s dispensing.

All the things of life that the Triune God gives to us through the divine dispensing are quiet and calm, and our life as believers should also be quiet and calm.

Day by day we need to live in this way, simply living an ordinary life of receiving the divine dispensing (Rom. 8:6; 1 Thes. 5:23; 2 Thes. 3:16).

We may have to wait at the bus stop for the next bus or wait behind the seemingly slow-reflexed drivers in front of us at the traffic light; even in this waiting time, we can open to the divine dispensing.

All the things of life that the Triune God gives to us through the divine dispensing are quiet and calm, and our life as believers should also be quiet and calm; day by day we need to live in this way, simply living an ordinary life of receiving the divine dispensing — Rom. 8:6; 1 Thes. 5:23; 2 Thes. 3:16. Our destiny is to live an ordinary life in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, for our Father has destined that we live in an ordinary way under His continual dispensing — Matt. 6:11, 32-34; 24:40-41. 2022 Thanksgiving Conference, outline 6Our destiny is to live an ordinary life in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, for our Father has destined that we live in an ordinary way under His continual dispensing (Matt. 6:11, 32-34; 24:40-41).

May we pray and open to the Lord that He would train us and teach us to live a daily life with many normal experiences in the divine dispensing.

How do we experience the divine dispensing? It is by faith.

As believers in Christ, we experience the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity by faith, for without faith it is impossible to be pleasing to God or to contact God (Heb. 11:1).

God wants us to do everything by depending on Him, by taking Him as life, and by allowing Him to dispense Himself into us.

In this way, we become normal spiritually, and our spirituality will not be abnormal or strange but regular and normal without anything spectacular (Rom. 8:4, 5; Gal. 5:22-23).

May we learn to live such a life day by day, a steady and normal Christian life receiving the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in our daily experiences.

As we do this and that, may we learn to open to the Lord and keep our vessel open to Him, living ordinary days in the divine dispensing.

Lord Jesus, we open to You to enjoy You and experience You in our daily Christian life. Save us from seeking something spectacular in our experience of Christ. May we live a steady and normal Christian life in the divine dispensing. Grant us the portion of grace for today, dear Lord, that we may live one spirit with You. May we live ordinary days in the divine dispensing, learning to open to Your inward dispensing little by little, day by day. May our life as believers be quiet and calm, an ordinary life of receiving the divine dispensing. Hallelujah, our destiny is to live an ordinary life in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity! Praise the Lord, our Father God has destined that we live in an ordinary way under His continual dispensing!

God’s economy, that is, His plan, purpose, and arrangement of things to accomplish His desire, is carried out in ways very different from ours. For example, God wants us to please Him. When we read this word, immediately we would make up our mind, pray, and even fast, saying, “God, be gracious to me. I do have the desire to please You. But You know that I have all kinds of obstacles, problems, and weaknesses. I cannot do it. Please help me.”… But although God wants us to please Him, He has no intention that we please Him by our own effort. Rather, He wants us to please Him through living by His life and even by Himself. Stanza 1 of Hymns, #499 says, “Oh, what a life! Oh, what a peace! / The Christ who’s all within me lives.”…The above hymn continues to say, “With Him I have been crucified; / This glorious fact to me He gives.” What is this glorious fact? “Now it’s no longer I that live, / But Christ the Lord within me lives.” It is no longer I that live. This is truly wonderful! Now it is Christ that lives. This is glorious! However,… most of us would say that sometimes it is He and not we. But most of the time it is we and not He. This is our real condition. God requires man to do many things. But He has no intention that man would do them by himself. Dear brother, the Lord is in us as the Spirit in a normal, quiet, and gentle way, always ready to dispense Himself into us.

We need to learn to be satisfied with ordinary days in the regular and normal experiences of the divine dispensing.

Lord Jesus, keep us open to You today in all our daily experiences. Dispense Yourself into every part of our being as we do this and that. Grant us to live a normal life in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity!

God wants to make His home in us and to make our whole person His place of rest.

He dwells in us to be our life, but He operates quietly & gently in us.

If we desire to please the Lord, we need to see that He wants us to please Him through living by His life, by His very self.

Most of the time it’s we and not Him who lives. We must allow the Lord to put us to death so that He may live.

He is waiting all the time for us to turn to Him and to receive His supply.

O Lord! Come into our heart and dine with us all the time…

Dear brother, just as we live our physical lives without much consciousness of the processes, such as our digestion, going on within us, so as those who have Christ, as the indwelling, consummated Spirit of the Triune God, we live and walk according to the Spirit in ordinary days, experiencing the regular and normal divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, as the Lord continues to fill us and make His home in us.

Praise the Lord for another ordinary for such a normal Christian life! Amen Lord! A normal life in the divine dispensing!

There are a lot of things in today’s message, but mainly God helps me to understand two things:

  1. to identify humans spirit and Gods Spirit by the ways of writing in the scriptures (s & S respectively)
  2. I usually pray to feel God how He lives and works in me, but I realized that I was wrong. Because the example of how our digestion system works is a very wonderful and understandable example.

Praise the Lord for His inexhaustible food all the time.

we have the Lord in us as our life. He wants to become our person and our everything and he wants to do this by dispensing himself in normal way in our daily environment

If we open to him every moment in our daily situations moment by moment he will have a way to grow and increase in us

May the Lord gain our cooperation in this matter to stay open and be satisfied with ordinary days under the divine dispensing

Ameen!! Satisfied with You dear Lord Jesus.

We simply need to love the Lord and keep ourselves open to Him, giving Him every opportunity to do everything that He wants to do in us and with us .

As we open to Him, He makes His home in our heart a little more.
