But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Tim. 2:22

But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Tim. 2:22

Dear saints, let us pray that the saints would get vitalized personally and with a few co-laboring companions to the extent that they would “go fishing” to get some “new fish” (Dan. 1:6; 2 Tim. 2:22).

The elders should not try to form the groups in an organizational way. That does not work. They must stir up the saints to be vitalized first. Once you get vitalized, you will have the deep sensation that you need companions. Then you need to follow the Lord’s leading to gain some to join you to be a group. This will be an organic group, and eventually this group will be vitalized. Four saints grouped together are a sufficient number. Do not get more saints at this point. Instead, be vitalized to an extent that you would go fishing to get some new fish. When your organic group of four saints is vitalized, you will not need to hunt for more saints to join you. Instead, you will go fishing to get some new fish. (Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1993, vol. 2, “The Training and the Practice of the Vital Groups,” ch. 1, pp. 272-273)
