As People of Faith, Be Filled in Spirit today and Beware of an Evil Heart of Unbelief

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52

As people of faith, we need to be filled in spirit today and beware of an evil heart of unbelief.

May we beware lest perhaps there be in any one of us an evil heart of unbelief in falling away from the living God; may we realize we only have today, so we need to be filled in spirit today as people of today, and we need to gain Christ today! Hallelujah!

As believers in Christ, we live not by sight, not by what we see or feel, but by faith; we believe into the Lord and we believe the divine facts in the Bible, and we live by what we believe.

The secret of our Christian life, the secret to us living Christ and inheriting the riches in the Word of God, is our saying Amen to the word of God.

It is by faith that we can enter into the enjoyment and realization of all the spiritual possessions and blessings in the Word of God.

By faith we believers have access unto God and into His grace; by faith, we stand in the grace we receive, and by faith, we enjoy all that God is and has done for us and in us.

We have received the Spirit through faith, and this is not just something initial but rather, day by day we can contact the Lord and place ourselves under the hearing of the faith to receive more of the Spirit.

On His side, God supplies the Spirit bountifully, and on our side, we need to be under the hearing of the faith to receive the Spirit continually.

All of God’s promises are inherited by us through faith, and when we come forward to God, we must believe that He is and that He’s a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Through our abiding in the organic union with the Lord, Christ has a further way to make His home deeper in our hearts; He makes His home in us more and more as we remain intimately joined to Him.

Our heart can be cleansed only by the Holy Spirit through faith by the divine life; as we open to the Lord and allow Him to infuse us with Himself, even our heart is cleansed.

Everything of God and of His work in us is apprehended not by our physical senses but by faith, the sense of faith.

We overcome the one who is in the world and who usurps us through the world simply by our faith, for our faith is our victory over the world.

Hallelujah, faith is our victory, and the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world!

Though Satan tempts us, makes subtle proposals, shoots darts of doubts, questions, and lies, and attacks us, we can take up the shield of faith and are able to quench his flaming darts. Hallelujah!

Beware of an Evil Heart of Unbelief and Believe in the Divine Facts in God’s Holy Word

Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief in falling away from the living God. But exhort one another each day, as long as it is called "today," lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Heb. 3:12-13In Heb. 2:12-13 we see a warning concerning the matter of our faith or believing; we should beware of an evil heart of unbelief in falling away from the living God.

As believers in Christ, we need to beware, lest perhaps there be in any one of us an evil heart of unbelief in falling away from the living God.

Instead of having an evil heart of unbelief, we should exhort one another each day, as long as it is called “today”, lest any one of us is hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Falling away from the living God also means “turning away” from the living God.

When we believers in Christ exercise our spirit of faith and keep our hearts turned to the Lord, the veil is taken away, and we can behold Him as the God of glory with an unveiled face, so that we may be continually transfused with Him.

As we behold Him and are infused with Him, we are continually transfused with His believing element so that we can live by Him as our faith and remain in the process of being transformed from one degree of glory to another degree of glory into the same image of the resurrected and glorified Christ (2 Cor. 4:13; 3:16-18; cf. Gen. 1:26; Isa. 43:7).

As people of faith, may we not turn away from the living God but turn to Him, seek Him, and come forward to Him to enjoy Him and be infused with Him.

We need to see that unbelief is the greatest sin; we are believers who walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7), and not to believe in God’s word is the greatest sin.

May we be saved from an evil heart of unbelief; may we trust not in the things that we see but take certain unseen things – the divine facts in God’s word – and confess them and realize them by faith.

For example, we may have a problem with our temper, and no matter how much we try, we can’t subdue it.

Instead of trying to suppress it or change it, we should simply see that the law of the Spirit of life has freed us in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death, and we should praise God for freeing us from our temper.

Our situation is not real, and our condition is not real; what is real is what the word of God says, and the divine facts in God’s word is what we base our life on.

May we not stand with our situation or condition but with the word of God, even when the Word of God seems to contradict our feeling, our situation, and our condition.

May the Lord save us from an evil heart of unbelief and may we ask the Lord to help our unbelief.

We should not be doubtful but believe; the Lord knows our weaknesses, and we believe that He is with us to work in us what He said in His word that He will do.

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death. Rev. 12:10-11We overcome the devil, the accuser of the brothers, by our declaration of the divine facts, which is the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:10-11).

Some interpret “the word of our testimony” being the testimony of our experience of the Lord; however, this refers to the declaration of the divine facts in the word of God.

We may not have the experience of what the Bible speaks of, but we can declare the word of God and proclaim what the Lord has done and what He promised to do.

We need to be those who follow the Lord as the One who confronted the enemy not by His own word but by repeatedly saying, “it is written…” (Matt. 4:4, 7, 10).

We don’t believe in our feelings or in our situation; we believe in the divine facts in God’s holy Word, and we pray to be delivered from an evil heart of unbelief.

We must learn to declare the divine, mystical, and eternal facts of what the Lord has done, is doing, and will do in us, for us, and through us! Amen!

We declare the divine facts of what the Lord has done and will do in us for the accomplishment of His eternal economy.

When God says something, when He speaks a certain thing, we should also speak that thing simply because the Bible tells us so.

Then, Lord will bring us into the experience of that divine fact.

Lord Jesus, we believe into You and we say Amen to all Your promises and blessings in Your word. Amen, Lord, may it be done to us and in us according to Your word. We do not believe our feelings and our situation; we believe the divine facts in the Word of God! Help our unbelief and increase our faith! We simply want to declare what the Word of God says and say Amen to Your word. We stand one with You, Lord, and we exercise to speak the word of our testimony, which is our declaration of the divine facts. Hallelujah, we believe what the divine and eternal facts of what the Lord has done, is doing, and will do in us, for us, and through us, for the accomplishment of His eternal economy! Amen, Lord, we say Amen to Your word, for Your word is true and real!

As People of Faith, we are People of Today: We want to be Filled with the Spirit Today!

He again designates a certain day, today, saying in David after so long a time, even as was said before, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." Heb. 4:7

As believers in Christ, we are people of faith; we are those who believe what the Lord speaks that He has done, is doing, and will do in us, and we say Amen to His word.

As people of faith, we are people of today; we don’t have yesterday, and tomorrow is not here, but we have today, so we want to be filled with the Spirit today!

The first point of the up-to-date way to practice the Lord’s present move is to be filled with the Spirit inwardly and outwardly, essentially and economically, for our life and our work today (Acts 2:4; 13:52; Heb. 3:7-8, 13, 15; 4:7).

As people of faith, we are learning to enjoy Christ today and be filled with the Spirit today.

We don’t have tomorrow, for tomorrow is not here; we don’t have yesterday, for yesterday is gone.

But we have today. Faith is for today; we believe that today we are children of God filled with the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness...While it is said, "Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the provocation." Heb. 3:7-8a, 15What we have is the present Christ, who is now in the heavens as our Minister and our High Priest to minister to us the heavenly life, grace, authority, and power.

He is daily sustaining us to live a heavenly life on earth. He is the Christ now, the Christ today, to be our daily salvation and our moment-by-moment supply.

The Christ we have is the Christ today – He is the Christ now, the present Christ, for us to be filled with Him today.

We should forget about yesterday’s enjoyment of Christ – we need a fresh, new, present enjoyment of Him today, even right now.

Yes, the Lord was with us yesterday, and He did so many great things for us in and in us in the past, but we are now living today, not in the past.

Wherever we are, Christ is in us; He is not in us to repeat what He has done in the past but to advance, to go on, and to do even more!

He is working and He is moving, and we should be fresh, new, living, and present with Him.

May we be people of today who desire to be filled with the Spirit today, even right now.

For some people, every day is tomorrow, for they think about what they should do and where they should go tomorrow.

For other people, every day is yesterday, for they linger in their past experiences and achievements.

We shouldn’t look back to the past nor should we merely wait for the future; we should live today, for we are people of today.

Every day we have from the Lord is today; yesterday is gone, it is not ours anymore, and tomorrow is not here, so it is not ours.

With faith people, which we are, every day is today – we are people of today, people who want to be filled in spirit today.

We don’t talk about and linger in our yesterday’s experiences of Christ and we don’t yearn to experience Christ sometime in the future; we want to gain Christ today and be filled in spirit today.

Even when we will be in the New Jerusalem, we will have today, since every day in eternity is today.

Are you a person of yesterday? All of us should be people of today. Every day is a today. With some people every day is tomorrow, and with others every day is yesterday… Do not look ahead to the future, and do not look back to the past. We are people of today. Do not talk about your old experiences in the past. Talk about your experience today… Every day is a today. We do not have yesterday. We had yesterday, but we do not have it now. We will never have tomorrow. All the time we have is today. Every day is a today. When we enter into the New Jerusalem, we will have today since every day in eternity is today. The only day we have is today. Be filled inwardly today. Be filled outwardly today. Be filled today. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1985, vol. 5, “The Way to Practice the Lord’s Present Move,” pp. 484-485Today, if we hear the Lord’s voice, we should not harden our heart but rather, open to Him, enjoy Him, and be filled with Him.

Day by day we need a fresh enjoyment of Christ. We cannot rely on our past enjoyment of Christ to live today; we need a fresh infilling of the Spirit today, right now.

May we be saved from being a person of yesterday or a person of tomorrow – may we be a person of today who enjoys the Lord today and is filled with the Spirit today.

The past is gone and we can never call it back; tomorrow may never come. Therefore, we only have today.

As faith people, we need to live today, live Christ today, and enjoy the present Christ today.

Day by day we have today, and we need to exercise our spirit of faith, we treasure every moment we live with the Lord today, not dreaming about tomorrow nor wailing about the past.

The present Christ is here with us to infuse us in a fresh way; He is ready to reward us with Himself as we come forward to God, believing that He is.

Even in today’s tumultuous environment, we are a people of faith who today have a present Christ who strengthens us, firms our faith up, establishes us, and causes us to stand firm in faith to complete His economy and bring in His kingdom.

Lord Jesus, we come forward to You today to enjoy You and be filled with the Spirit today. Amen, Lord, we forget the things which are behind us and do not rely on our experiences in the past; we come to You today to be filled in spirit today! We come to You as the moving and working God and we open to You to enjoy You today! Fill us with the Spirit today. Clothe us with the Spirit as power today. We exercise our spirit of faith to receive a fresh infusing of Christ today. Even in today’s tumultuous environment, we open to the present Christ to enjoy Christ, experience Christ, and be filled with the Spirit today! Amen, Lord, firm up our faith, strengthen us into our inner man, and establish us in the faith!

The facts are recorded in the New Testament. This testament is a will, something stronger and better than a covenant. A covenant is an agreement similar to a contract. But a testament, a will, refers to something already accomplished… The New Testament is a will. This will says that the processed God is now in us, that He is our portion, and that He is the element with which we have been constituted… We need to believe this fact, just as we believe that we are children of God. Sometimes the devil says, “Look at yourself. Are you a son of God? How can you say you are a son of God when you lost your temper this morning?”… We should say, “Satan, even though I have lost my temper many times, I am still a son of God. Losing my temper does not change the fact that I am a son of God. Satan, with my declaration of this fact, I chase you away.” (Life-study of 2 Corinthians, p. 88, by Witness Lee)

As believers every day is today! We need to be the “today people” being saved from unbelief to live by faith in the unseen things and not by what we see or how we feel. Our feelings are not trustworthy, so instead we must live by the divine facts in the Bible. Because the Bible says it, we speak it! Hallelujah! We may be accused by Satan concerning our temper but while confessing we can also declare we are still a son of God – even though we lost our temper – and chase him away.

O Lord we want to be filled inwardly and outwardly today for Your present move in Your recovery!
