Our Self is the Greatest Enemy of the Body: We Need to Deny it and Live by God's Life

As believers in Christ we are not meant to live in an individualistic way – we are members of the Body of Christ. However, do we have the realization that we are members of the Body? Do we live in the Body of Christ? Do we depend on the Lord as the Head and on […]

learning to live our human life by the divine life in our mingled spirit (Romans 8)

January 23, 2012 by aGodMan 5 Comments

Many believers and unbelievers alike want to live a perfect life, even “an angel life”, a virtuous life, and they do their best to improve themselves, perfect their living, abstain from certain things, refrain from saying things, etc… Because we fail so many times in doing this, we may ask for the Lord’s help to improve our living, our behavior, and if we succeed, we become proud and selfish about it. O, Lord Jesus, this is such an ensaring matter! It is in our nature as human beings to try to be better, to improve ourselves, and even ask for God’s help to have patience, to be more careful in our speaking, etc. But this is NOT what God desires – God doesn’t want an improved human behavior with an increased self-effort every time. The result of this self-perfecting is pride and a stronger self, which cannot build up the Body! What God desires is that we as human beings would live by the divine life in our spirit. God desires that we would be recovered back to living under His direct rule in life

December 13, 2011 by aGodMan 6 Comments

In us who are in the kingdom of God as a realm of life, the divine life should be able to move into our mind, our thinking, our imagination, our memory, our reasoning, our thoughts, our emotions (what is stored, buried, accumulated there? What anger, what feelings, what pains are suppressed there?). The river of water of life needs to go into every part so that it will bring life to our soul, until every part of our inner being would be alive with this river [continue reading online]

God gave Christ as a light to the nations that He might be God’s salvation to all the world!

April 1, 2011 by aGodMan 8 Comments

God set Christ as a light to all the nations, so that all the nations may receive God’s salvation (Isa. 49:6). When the Lord Jesus came, a great light came to shine in the land of Israel. This light issues in life to regenerate man. On the one hand, John 1:4 says, In Him was […]

building up Christ in our experience so that we may enter into Him and abide in Him

These past few days we’re enjoying the fact that we need to daily work out our own salvation by building up Christ in our experience. Just like Noah built up the ark, we are building up a practical and present Christ today in the church life. Just like Noah entered into the ark after he […]

following the Lord Jesus’ pattern to live a life by denying our natural life and live by the divine life

we need to be born of God with the divine life in order for us to be part of the kingdom of God

October 21, 2010 by aGodMan 1 Comment
