Live Christ to Magnify Him and Minister Him into others to be Channels of Supply

For to me, to live is Christ... Phil. 1:21

If we live Christ to magnify Him for His expression, we will become strong factors, channels of supply, to enable the saints to grow in life and enjoy the Lord.

Amen, Lord Jesus, make us such ones, those who are channels of supply, channels of life, for the saints to grow in life and go on enjoying the Lord!

As believers in Christ, we need to realise that there’s another person living in us, and we should not express ourselves but rather, express Him.

We need to not only enjoy the Lord Jesus inwardly but also put on the Lord Jesus, dress up with Him, so that we may express Him and not express ourselves.

We are priests to God and, as priests, we need to put on our priestly robe, our holy garments, which is Christ Himself.

The reason the Lord has been put to shame and is evilly spoken of among people today is that not many of His followers put on Christ; they still express themselves and not Christ.

No matter the circumstances, we need to put on Christ and live Him to magnify Him.

We may think we don’t have a large capacity to speak to others and we may not be so outspoken or outgoing to preach the gospel, but simply by putting on Christ, when we live Christ to magnify Him in our body, Christ is testified and expressed, and we preach the gospel even without words.

Our putting on Christ to be His priest has nothing to do with our ability or our capacity, but it has everything to do with our living.

We need to be sanctified day by day by remaining in the word of God to be separated from anything common, and we need to put on Christ as our real garment for our glory and for our beauty.

As we serve the Lord, minister to Him, and serve those around us with the Christ we have been enjoying and experiencing, we need to be separated from anything common and be in the Lord’s presence, putting on Christ as our expression in our living.

The same living that Christ had when He was on earth needs to be reproduced and duplicated in each one of us.

This was possible with Paul, who magnified Christ in prison, even to the extent that those in the house of Cesar heard the gospel and were saved.

This should also take place with us; we need to pay attention to our expression in our daily living, not living in the self or the natural man but putting on Christ to express Him and not making any provision for the flesh.

The Fruit of our Work is to Live Christ to Magnify Him and Minister Him into Others

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if [I am] to live in the flesh, if this to me is fruit for [my] work, then I do not know what I will choose. Phil. 1:21-22If we magnify Christ in our body for His expression by living Him, we will become strong factors, strong channels of supply, to enable the saints to grow in the divine life and continue in the faith, enjoying the Lord.

Paul was such a person; even in his chained body, Christ was exalted, extolled, praised, and appreciated, because Paul lived Christ (Phil. 1:21; Eph. 6:20).

We need to live Christ.

In Phil. 1:19-20 Paul was saying that he was earnestly expecting and hoping that in nothing he would be put to shame but rather, that Christ is magnified in his body.

And in v. 21 he says, For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

How can Christ be magnified in us? It is by our living Christ. Christ can be magnified in our bodies when we live Christ.

Many want to do a work for God but not many realize the importance of living Christ.

We need to live Christ to magnify Him, for when we live Christ, He is exalted, extolled, appreciated, and praised in us.

Paul spoke concerning “fruit for my work” (v. 22).

What kind of work did Paul have, while he was in prison?

Outwardly he could not do much, for he could not go to preach the gospel to faraway lands, neither was he able to establish churches in the localities where he visited.

He was in prison. But he worked. His work was his living, and his living was his work. The fruit of his work was Christ lived out, magnified, and ministered to others.

The fruit of our work should be to live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others.

Our work should not be something that we merely do for the Lord; our work should be our living.

With the Lord Jesus it was the same: His work was His living, and when He lived, He worked.

Christ being magnified in us is so that He may be seen by others in the reality of His resurrection and ministered to others in the reality of His Spirit.

When we live Christ and magnify Him, when Christ is magnified in us by our living Christ, He is seen by others.

Others simply witness Christ living in us, and they will be touched by the reality of His resurrection and the reality of the Spirit ministered to them by us.

For which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I would speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Eph. 6:20 All the saints greet you, and especially those of Caesar's household. Phil. 4:22Many times such a work, such a ministry, may be without words; it may be silent, for it is by our living and not just by our speaking.

In the situations the Lord put us in, we need to have the fruit of our work – magnifying Christ by living Him.

That magnification of Christ transfuses Christ into others, ministering Christ into them.

When others contact us, they need to contact the Lord in us, for what is magnified in us is not our self, our knowledge, or our background and experience, but Christ Himself.

Our work must be our living, and our living must be to live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others (Phil. 1:22).

The younger we are, the more we strive to do things; this is not wrong, but the emphasis should not be on how much we can do but on how much we live Christ.

We should not focus mainly on our actions and activities but rather, on our living; we need to live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others.

What is important is for Christ to be lived out in us.

The fruit of our work must be Christ lived out, magnified, ministered, and transfused into others.

On one hand, we live Christ to magnify Him; on the other hand, our magnifying Christ by living Him infuses Christ into others.

Our work is a living work, for it is our very living; the fruit of our living work is that Christ is magnified through our living Christ, and we infuse Christ into others as we magnify Him in us.

Lord Jesus, we love You. We open to You today. We want to live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him to others. Save us from merely doing a work for God. Save us from focusing merely on activities and work. May we focus on living Christ for His magnification. Amen, Lord, we want to live Christ today so that He may be magnified in us and ministered through us into others! May the fruit of our work, which is our living, be that Christ is magnified and infused into others by our living Christ! We give ourselves to You, dear Lord Jesus, to just love You, enjoy You, partake of Your riches, experience You, and live You out. May Christ be lived out in us. May we be saved from living in the self or the natural man! Live Thyself, Lord Jesus, through us today! Be magnified in us!

Aspiring to be Channels of Supply to the Saints for their Growth in Life and Enjoyment of Christ

But I am constrained between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for [this is] far better...And being confident of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of the faith. Phil. 1:23, 25As we read the portion in Phil. 1:19-25 we all need to be not only inspired but also aspire to be channels of supply as he was, so that through our living and work the saints would advance with the Lord in the faith and enjoy Him more.

We all need to aspire to be strong factors and channels of supply to the saints for their progress (their growth in life) and their joy of the faith (their enjoyment of Christ (Phil. 1:25).

However, whether or not we are such factors of the saints’ growth in life and their enjoyment of Christ depends on whether or not we magnify Christ by living Him.

If we live Christ to magnify Him and infuse Him into others, the saints will receive life and will be encouraged to go on with the Lord, enjoying Him and advancing in Him.

In every locality and even in every home meeting and group meeting there needs to be some who are channels of supply, channels through which others may enjoy Christ and grow in life.

Sometimes there are just one or two such channels of supply in one country, but when they are there, all the saints are encouraged, they go on with the Lord, and they advance in faith.

We may think that we are quite young and we may not be able to do much outwardly because we’re so busy with family life and work, or we may think we’re too old and we don’t have the energy to do much.

But the need is not for us to do something but to live Christ to magnify Him and infuse Him into the members of the Body of Christ so that we may be channels of life for the saints’ progress and joy of the faith.

We desperately need such channels of supply in all the local churches today.

If we know who is such a channel of supply, we need to be with them and be perfected to be such ones.

We all need to be perfected to magnify Christ by living Him so that we may be channels of supply for the saints’ encouragement, going on, and enjoyment of the Lord.

Because Paul lived and magnified Christ to the uttermost, he could transfuse Christ into the saints and minister Christ to all the churches.

His consideration, while in prison, was to either depart and be with Christ or to remain in the flesh and be with the saints, having the magnification of Christ by living Christ as the fruit of his work.

Such a consideration was not selfish but was for the saints’ sake; he was absolutely occupied by the Lord with the church. We should be the same today.

It should matter to the church whether we remain or go to be with the Lord.

We need to be channels of supply to the saints in the church life today.

Being such ones depends on our living Christ, magnifying Christ, ministering Christ, and transfusing Christ from the depths of our being into that of the saints (Phil. 2:25-30).

We need to grow in life unto maturity in the Lord, and we need to simply live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others.

Whether Paul was in prison or out of prison, he was a strong factor of the saints’ progress and joy. Because of him the churches could have the growth in life and could be filled with the enjoyment of Christ. This should also be true of us today...in the Body life there is the urgent need of certain ones to function as channels of supply. We need members like Paul. When such members die, the transfusion of Christ is in a very real sense interrupted. But as long as such ones are with us, the transfusion continues unabated, and we can boast in them in Christ. It should matter to the church whether we live or die. But this depends on our living Christ, magnifying Christ, ministering Christ, and transfusing Christ from the depths of our being into that of the saints. If we experience Christ and enjoy Him in this way, it will make a difference to the church whether we remain or go to be with the Lord. Life-study of Philippians, 63-64, by Witness LeeIn the Body life, there’s an urgent need for certain ones to function as channels of supply (Zech. 4:12-14).

May we have such an aspiration in us today.

May we care not only for our enjoyment and going on with the Lord but even more, care for the Lord’s people, His Body, and focus on living Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others.

While Paul was in prison, though he was outwardly limited and confined, he was a strong factor of the saints’ progress and joy.

Because of him and his living with his ministry, the churches could have the growth in life and could be filled with the enjoyment of Christ.

This should also be true of us today.

We may not do this on such a large scale as Paul, being a minister of Christ to the whole world, but where the Lord placed us, we can live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others for the saints’ growth in life and their enjoyment of Christ.

May we be such joints of rich supply, channels of life, for the church so that through us the divine life may flow, the saints would be encouraged, and the churches would go on with the Lord.

May we enjoy and experience Christ to such an extent that, from the depths of our being there’s a transfusion into the depths of the saints’ being for their going on with the Lord and enjoyment of Christ.

Lord Jesus, we aspire to be channels of supply to the saints for their progress and their joy of the faith! Amen, Lord, we give ourselves to You today to magnify Christ by living Him in our daily life. We want to be filled with Christ, live Christ, and magnify Christ, so that our very living would nourish the saints with the riches of Christ and help them go on with the Lord. Gain such ones, dear Lord. Gain many factors of the progress of the saints. Gain many channels of supply who, by their very being and living, are an encouragement to the saints for their growth in life and their enjoyment of Christ. We want to live Christ and magnify Him to the uttermost so that we can transfuse Christ into the saints and minister Christ to all the churches. May Christ be enjoyed and experienced by us to such an extent that there will be a transfusion of Christ from the depths of our being into that of the saints for their progress and joy of the faith!

Whether Paul was in prison or out of prison, he was a strong factor of the saints’ progress and joy. Because of him the churches could have the growth in life and could be filled with the enjoyment of Christ. This should also be true of us today. All the elders in the local churches should be factors of the saints’ growth in life and of their enjoyment of Christ. But whether or not the elders are such factors of progress and joy depends on whether or not they magnify Christ by living Him. If the elders live Christ, He will surely be magnified in them. Then the elders will become factors to enable the saints to grow in life and enjoy the Lord. In verses 25 and 26 we see the very crucial point that in the Body life there is the urgent need of certain ones to function as channels of supply.

Dear brother, there is an urgent need for many of the saints to be channels of supply for the saints progress and joy of the faith.

We can be such ones only when we magnify Christ and minister Him by living Him today.

May we focus not on an outward work with many activities but on magnifying Christ by living Him so that we would transfuse Him into others for their growth in life and enjoyment of the Lord.

Lord Jesus, live in us today. We want to live Christ to magnify Him and minister Him into others for the building up of the church!

Amen Lord! Meet this need in Your Body! Make us those who live You and magnify You for others progress and joy in the faith!

I enjoyed the apostle Paul’s speaking of “fruit of my work” indicates that his work was actually his living!

Amen brother. It should matter to the church whether we remain or go to the Lord.

The fruit of our “work” should be our living.

Are we living out Jesus, magnifying Him and ministering Him to others? The fruit of our work should be the transfusion of Jesus into others.

There is this urgent need of certain ones to function as channels of supply.

If not us, then who? We have a surplus of the riches of Christ.

May the Lord grace us to live, magnify and transfuse Him.

What a pattern we have in Paul!

Because he lived Christ, he magnified and ministered Christ into others.

He was such a strong factor and channel of supply to the saints and churches because he took Christ as his life and person, and though he desired to be with the Lord, he realised it was necessary to remain for the progress an joy of the faith of the saints.

We too, should have such an aspiration to remain to be such strong factors, supplying the saints for their growth in life through our living and magnifying Him, declaring how great He is before them!

It should matter where we are whether we depart or remain!

O Lord! Save us from our focusing on so many outward activities. We want to live and magnify You!

Yes, we are not jobless. We are called for work.

We are not only fish hunters, but men hunters with His love.

This can be expressed by living Christ magnificently. Our life of Him must have impacts on others living around us.

As long as He came down for all of us, we also need to live for others like Him.

Praise the Lord for this responsibility as a co-worker with Him.

May we continue to build your body in joy of the faith for your satisfaction and ours!
