In our Contact with the Lord we Seek Him, Inquire of Him, and Confess our Sins to Drink Him

December 9, 2021 by aGodMan Leave a Comment

If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7

In our contact with the Lord in prayer, we need to learn not to direct Him but ask “what shall I do, Lord?”, we need to let Him point out our needs and problems and just confess these to drink the living water, and we need to seek the Lord Himself as the unseen spiritual […]

God’s Work needs Man’s Cooperation, not his Initiation, Opinions, and Suggestions

August 4, 2017 by aGodMan 9 Comments

Once a person has the heart to serve the Lord and becomes zealous, his opinions come out. At such a time, God will hide Himself and withdraw His will. Everything we initiate will be interrupted by God. In the matter of serving God, we must stop ourselves in order to give God the absolute opportunity to speak. This requires our exercise. Witness Lee, Knowing Life and the Church, ch. 17

According to what the Bible tells us concerning our service to God, God’s work needs man’s cooperation, but it doesn’t require man’s initiation; God wants us to serve Him and love Him, but He doesn’t need us to initiate things in God’s work. Both in the Old and in the New Testament we see many […]

We must Honor the Lord as the Head of the Body, Praying until We’re Clear about His Leading

June 1, 2017 by aGodMan 11 Comments

Mark 1:35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still night, He went out and went away to a deserted place, and there He prayed.

In our cooperation with the Lord for His ultimate move we need to honor the Lord as the Head of the Body by spending much time with Him, waiting on Him, not taking any decisions without Him, and pray to Him as the Lord of the harvest to thrust out workers in His harvest. The […]

What shall I do, Lord? “To Open their Eyes, to Turn them from Darkness to Light”

July 19, 2013 by aGodMan 1 Comment

Paul's Vision and Commission as seen in Acts

At the time of his conversion, Paul asked two very important questions, and all genuine believers should be honest with the Lord and ask Him these questions also: “Who are You, Lord?” and “What shall I do, Lord?” (Acts 22:8, 10). When we ask the Lord, Who are You, Lord? we are open to Him […]
